Cool Cruiser (2/15)

  1. We were on Rotterdam, a Pinnacle ship, on an aft facing balcony (8201) right under the seaview pool. If I could, I'd book it again but, alas, it wasn't available for my next sailing in November., I did hear the chairs getting dragged around in the morning but it was hardly a disturbance. They seem to do it quickly. I never smelled smoke and I sat on the verandah every day. I wish I was there right now!
  2. Very much looking forward to that. It's a big ship to wander around in and a map would be ideal.
  3. That's great news since I just sent mine off for renewal last week and have a booking in October.
  4. I noticed that some excursions are already full. Can't book early enough. Indeed, see you on board!
  5. We'll have 6 sea days after leaving Brest France and then into King's Wharf Bermuda where we will likely restock. I'm sure we'll make it 😀
  6. I started reading this thread today around noon. It's now after 7 in the evening! I did get other things done but I kept coming back to my tablet to see what happens next. Almost like reading a good book 😀. The plot really thickened with the description of the service at Pinnacle Grill! We just booked this same trip taking place October 12 of this year. It leaves from Rotterdam instead of Amsterdam but the itinerary is similar. There's no stop in Punta Delgada so let's hope they pack lots of lemons and limes before leaving the European continent 🤣. Great job and thank you Jacqui and everyone that contributed! We can't wait for our sailing ⛵
  7. One approach might be to write to HAL naming this person specifically and giving a good description of how they went above and beyond. I don't know how things work inside HAL but I'm sure they must have incentives for employees to provide the best service possible.
  8. Couldn't have said it better! That describes my cruising style completely and I can't wait until my next HAL sailing. I'm ready for some relaxation 😀
  9. Just got home after a great 10-day sailing. As soon as we boarded, I said to my wife, let's go take a look at the room. She said, "what for" since we usually don't do that until much later! The look on her face was priceless when I opened the door. Not only was there sunlight shining through, the view was excellent!
  10. I booked a cruise just a little more than a month out on Rotterdam and all that was available was an inside cabin. As time went on, I began to regret the decision thinking it was not going to be pleasant and we would be miserable. However, we made up our mind to just suck it up. 5 days before sailing, I got an email offering an upgrade to Ocean View or a Veranda cabin. I couldn't dial the HA phone number quick enough! I ended up with an aft Veranda cabin for $349pp additional. Wife doesn't know it yet and will let her be surprised when we open the cabin door for the first time. We sail on Friday. Moral of the story is, book it if you really want to go even if it isn't your preferred accommodation. If something opens up and you're willing to pay the additional charge, it's a bonus.
