  1. For the “total” cost you have to then add on any excursions, upgrades (like free at sea plus, etc) and the service charges. Most people probably aren’t just booking the cruise and that’s the end of it, as you might on Viking for example. If Viking cost the same as an equal cruise/package as NCL, I might have some thinking to do. While I’d rather pay one lump sum and be done with it, I’d much rather be “nickel and dimed” if the total amount is lower.
  2. Gifts??? My PCC was calling me so often that I actually asked him to stop calling me. He kept calling. I booked a cruise through a promotion through American Airlines, and he gave me an attitude about that on the phone call after. I then called customer service, and asked for “anybody else” to be my assigned PCC. To my knowledge, I don’t even have one now. I haven’t had a phone call since, and I am fine with that.
  3. They get up and walk out without leaving a tip.
  4. Same. I fly mostly with American (and its partners) and I’ve checked plenty of luggage. I don’t think I have ever had an address tag on a piece of luggage I have owned, unless many many years ago as a kid.
  5. Roatan, Honduras would work. Many people seem to like the Bahamas for that, but I guess I’m unlucky. When I went there I saw like 3 small fish. I would have had more fun visiting a pet store.
  6. Do you have a lot of conversations with thieves to know this?
  7. I wonder how much money the thief will get for your dirty laundry, a refrigerator magnet, and a half bottle of suntan lotion?
  8. Was on Epic in November 1) I had FAS+. Starbucks was included. Not sure what “refreshers” are, but I had white chocolate mochas, regular coffee, and cold brew. 2) I would think Shaker’s Martini and Champagne Bar would have the same (or better) selection. 3) I think my wife mostly drank Tito’s. 4) yes, see #2. It’s a nice little piano bar overlooking the casino. Next to the whiskey bar. 5) no idea on that one, sorry.
  9. Right. I have had both packages. You do not have unlimited choices, but you can unlimited amounts of the drinks that the package covers.
  10. I’ve bowled on the Epic during pretty rough seas. Same as playing a game of pool really.
  11. When you say “unlimited” do you mean Free At Sea Plus? If so, the only thing that wasn’t covered for us was the ridiculous cognac that was like a hundred bucks or whatever. Everything else like high end Scotch, Starbucks, etc was included. Because the standard Free At Sea is “limited” to drinks under $15, no Starbucks, etc
  12. The “store brand soda” detail was a nice visual.
  13. So basically you used an incredibly weird thing to bring on to a cruise to buy a different incredibly weird thing to bring on to a cruise.
  14. Wow, so this actually happened? Pics of the beautiful Cutco knife set with stunning wood block?
  15. I think I actually might prefer not having towel animals. They’re just in the way, and seeing a towel animal makes me think that I am paying for towel animals.
  16. That and a “how to” guide on circumventing established rules. Well, and complaining about the rules. And complaining about the people who complain about the rules.
  17. The only thing more unbelievable than the knife story itself is actually admitting it here, if it was true.
  18. Hopefully there won’t be a food fight in the buffet.
  19. I don’t think they are blocked off, I just think you can’t access them through the menu. I’ve just seen/heard about this in some videos. I think you can get a universal remote for like $10 or so off Amazon. Again, I’m hardly an expert here, but that’s my understanding.
  20. My understanding is you need a universal remote (from Amazon, etc) to be able to access the menu to choose the HDMI inputs. Evidently the room remote won’t let you change inputs? I could very well be wrong here as I have not done it, just heard about that.
  21. You do not “have to” be at an airport 3 hours prior for international. Is it a good idea? Yes. But “have to”…no.
  22. No. First off you are assuming you are getting off at 7. Not 7:10 or 7:20..or 8. Then you are guessing you’re just going to get immediately in a cab, good luck with that. Then you have the cab ride that is AT LEAST a half hour. Then you get to the airport. Athens is an okay airport, not the worst. But by the time you get through security and to your gate, you will not have enough time. Don’t forget they close boarding before take off, so the departure time is probably wrong anyway. SO NO YOU WILL NOT MAKE IT.
  23. No pinball on the Epic, Sun, or Sky when I checked. That’s an instant deal killer for me, personally.
  24. Can we use onboard credit or Cruise Next carts to buy the cookies? If so, I’m bringing extra spare luggage for “souvenirs.”
  25. Could you just cancel and rebid with the Amex? I would think that would do it?
