  1. Ah, yes. Simple home cooking tastes remarkably delicious after a vacation filled with restaurant meals! That, and sleeping in your own bed: two delights that help take the sting out of vacation being over! I kind of hope roaming photographers are back. I’ve mentioned this before, but my husband has a knack for getting slightly tipsy and sentimentally purchasing a photograph or two. It’s endearing.
  2. We took a chance on a guaranteed suite and saved $400. It was worth the risk to us. We were immediately assigned a magic carpet suite, on a floor above some restaurants. While this might not have been the room we would have chosen, it was better than being assigned a room beneath the swimming pool, which was our greatest concern. I have read that the aqua classrooms can be some of the least desired rooms on the ship, and they compensate for that with the aqua class perks. In that regard, it may be riskier than taking a guarantee of other classes. That said, we absolutely loved dinner in Blu and we enjoyed the spa area with the heated stone chairs as well.
  3. Hmmm. Maybe I didn’t explain it the way I meant to. Say I leave the ship at 11 AM ship time and all the board time is at 4 PM ship time. My plan is to set an alarm to go off in three hours, as a signal to myself to start heading back to the ship. The time displayed on my watch doesn’t matter – it is still three hours after 11 AM ship time.
  4. Rather than messing with resetting my watch or phone to local times/ship time, my intent is to set an alarm based on hours/minutes, rather than on time, if that makes sense.
  5. I went to a nudist camp a few years back, and trust me – it’s nothing they haven’t seen before!I went to a nudist camp a few years back, and trust me – it’s nothing they haven’t seen before!
  6. Is there adequate seating if we need to wait to board? We are in a suite this time around, but I’ve read there is not a dedicated area for suite guests at this port. That doesn’t bother me, but I may need to sit down if it’s a long wait.
  7. I have a small wristlet I plan to use.
  8. I appreciate the creativity, but I have never minded children or teens and I’ve never seen them misbehaving on Celebrity. I’m not convinced the line would make more $$ by assigning certain ships to adults only, and I suppose that is the bottom line. I happened to walk by the kids’ club years ago and heard this exchange: Care staff: “Today we are celebrating EVERYONE’S birthday!” Small children: “YAAAAAAAY!!” It was adorable. Seeing small children being a bit dressed up for dinner always makes me smile, too.
  9. Thank you for this report! It’s very informative and fun to read! I have a question about the wines - I don’t see the wines you mentioned on the list you posted, and additionally, aren’t those wines included in your premium package? I don’t understand the fees associated with them. Sorry for my confusion!
  10. Yikes! Some people’s children …
  11. Thank you! That’s sweet! We got married a little older, and we do cherish every day!
  12. When we booked our September cruise, I was asked on the booking form if there was any special occasion we’d be celebrating. As it happens, our anniversary is on the second night of the cruise. It’s not a “milestone” anniversary- just our 14th. Looking at similar itineraries, it is likely to be chic night that evening. I’m wondering if anyone knows if we will get a special treat or something similar (I don’t expect one) to mark the occasion at Luminae or if we should book a specialty restaurant. I don’t mean to come across as feeling entitled to something extra; just wondering what to expect.
  13. Great photos! It’s been a long time since our last cruise, but my husband had an unofficial tradition of getting a little tipsy and sentimentally purchasing some photos taken by the roaming photographer during formal night. I’m going to miss that! 🤣
  14. Hello all. We did a suite guarantee for a September cruise on the Edge and got a MS number 6190. From what I can tell, this room adjoins with an interior room, but it looks like the two rooms are linked through a corridor and not directly next to each other? I’ve been unable to find an actual room report on our room, but I saw an online review of the interior room, and it looks like the rooms share a wall in their bathrooms, with the doors sort of kitty corner to each other in a common hallway. It doesn’t look like either room would open into each other. Has anyone stayed in a room with this configuration? If so, could you hear the goings-on in the other room? My husband is a bit worried about this, but I think the clever configuration of the rooms will minimize this. I appreciate any insight!
  15. I am loving your reports! How did you and your mom dress for chic night? Did you get extra fancy? How were the other passengers?
  16. Thank you for this question. I’ll be sailing (sky suite) on the Edge and sometimes the other menus appeal to me more than what is on offer in Luminae. I was also wondering about how and when to book a table elsewhere for those nights. I understand we can ask the Blu maitre d’ if we can be accommodated there.
  17. How are the gym facilities? Is it necessary to sign up to use equipment?
  18. Personally, I like stepping into vacation knowing I’ve already paid as many expenses as possible, often by saving up over time.
  19. Additionally, my vacation is most definitely “my own time.” I happen to enjoy being a little dressier on my vacations, but if I had to dress up every day for work, I might prefer to wear more relaxed clothing (within venue guidelines) on the ship. I would be doing absolutely nothing wrong, immature, or classless. IMO, of course.
  20. I agree with you! I love to see everyone dressing up and I love dressing up, BUT our goal is to pack one hikers’ backpack and small bag per person for a 7-day cruise. I’m sure I can fit in a slinky little dress, but no to extra heels, and no to a suit jacket for the Mr.
  21. Kind of like how I always seem to be on the side of the campfire that is blowing smoke right in my face?
  22. Thanks for the question! I’m going on that cruise (or a similar one) and I’d appreciate information, as well. Also, we are starboard side - can we sit on our veranda and get good views or should we be watching from public areas on the other side?
  23. lol - one of the menus I read had chocolate mouse for dessert. I certainly hope not!
