  1. Make yourself a favor and enroll in the Status Match before booking, that way you'll be eligible for the discounts and you respective level perks. Most of the boards users recommend booking through a TA. I've done my bookings with a TA and the price is exactly the same and generally you'll pay at the MSC's website. Some users tell that some TA offers some rebate, but unfortunately I haven't found one of those in Brazil yet.
  2. Check out your booking info (cruise details), you should also get $50 OBC/each if you are a Silver, Gold or Diamond VC and booked at least 9mo earlier. It may take some days for the OBC to show up. BTW I didn't buy the insurance, it show as cancelled in my booking but still appears in the site. 🤷‍♂️
  3. BTW if you've booked through a TA, they should sent you your Ticket, you can't get them from the app or site.
  4. BTW, it sucks that you can't get a screenshot of the app... Thanks for your effort to use 2 device's to post the menu's! In Grandiosa, the bar menus were available through a qrcode, which downloaded a PDF, much easier to view and share.
  5. Yes, they are cheaper. It may come as a surprise, but there are people "on a budget" wishing to go sailing! 😁
  6. Cruises in Brazil are charged through Brazilian CC companies, USD converted to BRL onboard, including installments payment options, which are very common around here.
  7. I'll have to try that on my next sailing! 🤣 on my last sailing at Grandiosa, I've been well behaved until I got to the Butcher's Cut, the portions were BIG! Me and DW were on the experience menu, and our friend chose some kind of sampling, which had 4 or 5 courses, sorry I don't have the menu, but each course was BIG! by the third course we were laughing because he couldn't get more food... In the "experience" menu, you'll choose any 3 courses between appetizers, starter/soup, entrees, stakes and dessert.
  8. I understand that all promo are local, so it will be different depending on your booking location. In Brazil, currently they are offering a Cashback promo. You'll get up to R$ 1.200 (~$235 USD) OBC, the value will change accordingly to the cabin type, from External up to YC. No OBC for Interior Cabin. Last month, it was the same promotion, but it was up to R$ 1500 (~$293 USD) OBC.
  9. I watch a lot of videos about the ship I'm interested in, and specially the "background" videos that can show the inner workings, like the bridge, engines, kitchens, construction... Have you seen Andreas at Sea YT channel? He's the current Hotel Director at #Seaview, he's offering a nice "inside" view from the ship.
  10. If you're in the ship, you'll be able to see the blue wristband with the YC logo. About personal preferences, maybe that's why the ship has over 2000 cabins in like 10 different sizes, 4 experiences levels and so many venues onboard, they'll try to please everyone and sail as full as possible!
  11. Don't underestimate the power of an UPgrade bid 😁 I've got an upgrade to YIN from a Balcony for less than it would cost to add the drink package and WiFi, which are both complimentary in YC.
  12. There will be an assortment of snacks at the YC Sundeck Bar as well, finger food, pastries, and many more.
  13. IMHO one of the best views in Grandiosa: The Sky Lounge on Deck 18, for us it was a great example of the different experiences one could get on a cruise. By the pool the people were jumping up on a party/dance, on the Sky Lounge, an adults only space with a Jazz Trio and drinks relaxing and watching from a couch, separated only by a glass... The Masters of the Sea Pub was another, if it wasn't for the sea movement one could very much think it went outside the ship for a London Pub after hour.
  14. Yeap, it's included. You could purchase the massages and other treatments.
  15. I've got a feb/25 booking, IC - Bella in Seaview, couldn't be more "Below the Salt" as @Essiesmom expressed here. I'll try to add some review/comments, feel free to add any requests 😁 That is, unless i get lucky in another YCI bid 🤞🖖
  16. That's considering the available YCB with 14 nights duration so it could be a close match to the Silversea quote.
  17. That's the quote for a YCB on a similar 14 nights: Or from Miami you could get on the new World America (beginning in jul/25)
  18. We've required so little from our butler, that she even went to the restaurant to present herself on breakfast of day 2. Our requests were mainly escort out of the ship on port calls, some bags of tea, and our choice of a spirit. And we've received way more than asked! She would note that i drank a lot of sparkling water and the next day the minibar had extra bottles, our pajamas were nicely folded over the bed each night, with some chocolate, fruits or macarrones, and the my best gift was a decorated cabin including the animal towel and a personal hand written note celebrating my Birthday! Like @mica178 said, I've also missed the opportunity to enjoy more of this perk, for one, I've missed the afternoon tea on the Lounge, If I've told her i bet she would alert me of the times of the Tea. This thread is a precious gem of information!
  19. In our last sailing in Grandiosa, there were 3 presentations each night. You'll make a reservation at the MSC app on your session of choice. The theater was almost always full (945 seats), but I've never seen any confusion. There will be a small space reserved to YC guests. Just try not to arrive too late and you'll be fine! BTW, check out your daily planner, there are activities throughout the day in the Theater as well, I've been in a Master Chef contest that was very entertaining.
  20. DW: Dear Wife DH: Dear Husband MIL/FIL: In Laws YC: Yacht Club, and so on...
  21. This is an old topic, but since I'm from Brasil and been on that port I'll answer so others can benefit. The Santos Port is the largest port in Brazil, and the #40 in the world. The City of Santos has developed around the port operations, and as a lot of those, ther may be some security concerns. One should be aware of that and mind one's security as anywhere. That's being said, there are a lot of safe areas, a night life, plenty Hotels and easy transportation through Taxi or Uber. The proximity to São Paulo, the largest City in Brazil (over 12M population) is the main reason it's the chosen port for many companies. The passenger terminal is large, but the ship's are getting enormous, on embarkation day in the Grandiosa, last December, the terminal was packed with about 6000 passengers waiting to board. If you have any additional questions, I'll be happy to help! Good sailings!
  22. BTW, I hated the YCI cabin in Grandiosa! 🤣🤣🤣
  23. Take a look at this present I got from our butler in my birthday 🎈 A nicely decorated cabin, wine bottle, some chocolate and a hand written note. That was an amazing surprise!
  24. These are some of the menus at Grandiosa in a Brazilian cruise last December. The Easy Plus includes drinks up to $10 and if you'd like to get any one over that value you'd pay only the difference and gratuity. Of course, the YC menu means you'd get the Premium Plus package. In YC they'll never ask for your card, except if you'd ask for any of the most exclusive wines.
