  1. Hi Betsey, Yes, was so fun. We drove around the Finger Lakes, Lake Placid, up to Montreal and Quebec City, down thru Vermont and Massachusetts and back in to NY and finally home - 17 days with mostly very good weather. Met our Vancouver friends in QC which was special, too, especially since they had to cancel the Azamara cruises they were going to join us on in October. Enjoyed reading your cruise reports - glad you had a good time. Now just waiting for the 2 Inuit sculptures we bought to get from FedEx to us. They always remind us of our trips to Canada. Happy 4th! Marilyn
  2. Yes, Happy Canada Day to all our northern neighbors. We are just back 2 weeks ago from Montreal and Quebec City - we love Canada!! And the border crossings were a breeze - 2 other cars at the Northway crossing and 3 open lanes. You know that's never happening again 😁 .
  3. We stayed in the Intercontinental Porto Palacio das Cardosas, loved the location and walked everywhere, including Vila Nova di Gaia. However, my DH's knees aren't what they used to be and there are hills in Porto. Lovely city. Enjoy.
  4. Yes, but be aware that Lisbon is hilly. We spent 4or 5 days there and walked most places, using the trams to get to Belem and the aquarium. We also spend a couple of days post cruise and also walked all over. Since then, my DH's knees have become worse, so I don't think he'd be up to that much walking again. At least not until he final gets a knee replacement. You just need to check out some good guidebooks, websites, Google maps and you should be able to find lots to do on your own. Lisbon is a wonderful city - enjoy.
  5. Have not used this service, but according to the airport website there are storage lockers of various sizes. https://www.aeroportolisboa.pt/en/lis/services-shopping/essential-services/baggage-services The Gulbenkian is wonderful - definitely try to get there.
  6. Thank you for the kind offer. We are doing a private 6 day excursion with a guide who runs a small tour service. We will be based in his home town and on our own for dinners, but he will take us out each day for touring. He's flexible and open to suggestions based on our interests. I'm quite excited about seeing Puglia - we LOVE Italy (and I am of Italian and Slovenian heritage). Unfortunately we were to do this in the spring together with a small group tour of Calabria but that one was cancelled so we moved the Puglia tour as a prequel to our fall Azamara cruise. 5 years ago we spent 10 days touring Sicily - one of my favorite trips ever. If you wish, you may contact me at: themice <at> verizon <dot> net. Grazie! And we now return to our regularly scheduled topic 😉
  7. We fly in ahead of time, and I use my frequent flyer miles to fly business class, which is especially helpful on overnight flights. This lets us get some sleep on the plane and eliminates the need for a nap upon arrival. Ever since we started flying business class we find we have adjusted quite well to dealing with jet lag. And if we are flying to London, we prefer a daytime flight which arrives in the evening, so we eat and go to bed and wake up ready to go. But, of course, everyone's body reacts a bit differently. Hope you can find something that works for you and helps you adjust more quickly.
  8. We are on this cruise. Our invoice shows this: Final Payment is due by 01 JUL 2022, 5:00 PM EST
