  1. @D&N There are 2 Cunard Roses branded as Cunard. I’m not referring to the whole wine list.
  2. There are 2 different Cunard Rose Wines being offered and they are very different. I’m sorry I can’t find pictures, but order the more expensive in the Commodore Club. I believe the cheaper is available from the QG list, and I won’t order it again. There is a difference of $4.00 per glass, but if you don’t like the cheaper…and yes, the more expensive isn’t covered by the plan. I also found a huge difference in Bloody Mary’s between Commodore Club and the Casino. The Casino uses lots of black pepper, which comes out of the Pub.
  3. @ronpes Did you board QE in San Fran? If so, we crossed paths!
  4. QE will dock at terminal 91 at the north end of the bay I assume since that is where all Carnival Ships dock. The downtown terminal has Norwegian. Tons of cabs. I see people walking from downtown to the terminal. Just don’t do it! It looks like a short route but there are lots of twists and turns.

@napria I’m glad to hear you received a letter from Cunard and I hope they have it figured out by the time you board. Have a fun and safe trip.
  6. Hang in there @Essiesmom. Glad you didn’t have any trees come down.
  7. Disembarked QE on Sunday there WAS lobster in QG. There were no whole Dover Sole but there were filets. The issue was an inability to get any whole Dover Sole in Vancouver.
  8. We own both the Air Wrap and the Dyson hair dryer. I think there are different versions of the hair dryer because what I have at home is different from my hair stylist. I’ll be glad to hear what @rakkor discovers. But, I’m packing my trusty curling iron just in case.
  9. It is a Dyson Airwrap and I was totally lost without it during this cruise. I tried it by plugging directly into the U.S. socket and I tried it putting it into the U.S. part of one of those cubes that converts. We’re sailing QM2 in December. If you’re sailing before that date please let me know if it works for her. Also, the make-up mirror did not have a light.
  10. More QG food thoughts: Waffles. I think they must use pancake batter as they are very dense. I wanted to go back and mix up a batch for them. I will not order again. English Muffins. Super soft English Muffins, which need more time to rise and longer on the griddle…yes, I’ve made them many times and I’m darned good at them. But, they are really good for the Eggs Benedict because they are so soft. We had asked about Langoustine Shrimp and were surprised when a half dozen appeared for each of us and they were wonderful. Leg of Lamb. Yummy! Perfectly cooked with a great brown sauce and the best mint sauce I’ve ever had. Soup. All were wonderful. Beef Consommé, Leek and Bacon, Cream of Vegetable. Disembarkation - Super smooth. Less than 10 minutes from our suite to the dock. No lines anywhere. DH got his hair cut and had a massage. He said the massage was the best ever. The hair cut…well he didn’t start with much. For the future - we took a cab to the airport and the cost was $71.00 without tip. It took us about 25 minutes with no traffic on a Sunday morning. I had bad hair days because my $$$ Dyson hair blower/curler draws too much power and didn’t work. Good news: this will save me a few pounds in my luggage on future Cunard cruises. (It worked fine on Oceania Regatta last September) @VintageCheap I’m glad you had a great time and thanks again for starting this thread.
  11. Butler was Mohammed. Waiter in QG was Erin..can’t remember M’d…
  12. @VintageCheap Wonderful posts! So many things to talk about, but where to begin. We’re in QG - yes high expectations. Our room and butler are great. Steak Rossini in QG on night one was not a success for me, I thought the meat was tough, my DH says I’m being overly critical. Prime Rib on Gala Night was very nice. in QG there were 3 men not in Tuxes, but they did wear a tie. There were many open seats and as I spoke with ladies in the Commodore Club in the afternoon, they just didn’t feel like dressing up. As always, the soups in QG are wonderful. I was not happy today when I had the Thai Steak Wrap, which is deconstructed with over cooked steak that it was under sauced. When I asked for a small amount of sauce for the rice the chef refused. What!? I was not a happy griller and let the Maitre de know. All other food in QG has been superb. Great service in the Commodore Club. ISSUE: IPad and connectivity today. I finally decided to forget the link and start over and that is the only reason I’m able to post now. I have 45 minutes left! We’ve decided we Like the QE and will keep our 11 day reservation for next June to Alaska. To anyone on board to embarking: Casino slot machine to try is Heat Em Up at the end of the row, closest to the casino host, and play at $2.00. Won many hundreds. Far more generous than our last trip to Vegas.
  13. What?!!! No make-up mirror in a Queen’s Grill Suite!! This is the first trip in years that I haven’t brought my own. A note has been left for our cabin steward.
  14. Arrived at 12:30 and in our suite by 1:00. Vancouver port did a great job. We were also in the Golden Lion around 1:05!
  15. Cordero’s is definitely going strong! We arrived just as they opened and there were over a dozen people in front of us. I ate half a crab sitting on the deck. It was wonderful!
  16. I’ve been following the roll call also. Here’s a picture from this morning.
  17. @Meliador Make sure you read and understand what was posted by @bluemarbleregarding security versus check-in and Grills. The people in Brooklyn don’t always understand that Grills should be in the priority line. I noted that our boarding tickets for tomorrow have printed on them “Priority” and I hope that helps the situation in Brooklyn. Then follow @Jack E Dawson advice regarding sail away. Have a great cruise!
  18. I hope you don’t mind if I jump in with you. We arrived from Seattle this morning and were at the Westin. Lunch at Cordero’s was great. A beautiful day to sit on the deck with wine and tapas. LOTS of people going past on the route to Stanley Park. Thanks for starting the post @VintageCheap.
  19. It is back to school time of year, and many of us pick up the cold, with a cough, brought home by our children/grandchildren. I have it, and test negative for Covid, and I’ve worn a mask anytime I was inside today around people. I know I did the health screening 2 summers ago with Celebrity Solstice. DH came home with Covid in August from a cruise on Royal Cab. We all got it. I hope I have immunity for this cruise. Beautiful day in Vancouver, BC.
  20. I’m sitting at SEATAC waiting to board a plane for Vancouver, BC., to board QE tomorrow morning. It took exactly 30 minutes from home to the airport, which is the same as port to SeaTac. This year there is only one ship on Wednesday, an NCL, which is docked downtown.
  21. Thanks @NE John. I can stop worrying now and enjoy our mini vacation.
  22. Hi All, Boarding QE tomorrow and I can’t find the health screening. Has it disappeared? Help me find it please? Thanks.
  23. We have a wonderful Museum of Flight. You can take a bus from downtown to it and back, or jump in a cab. It would be an option for get off the ship, send your luggage via port transfer, then jump in a cab and head to the Museum of Flight. Then take a cab from Museum of Flight to the airport, about 10 minutes away.
  24. We like to break-up the hours in the air. Flying Alaska Air is always better than BA IMHO. We can fly first class on Alaska, spend a night in NYC, then fly out on BA in Business and only use our miles. I have been saying for 20 years that I was going to open up a luggage drop business at Pike Street Market! The port authority has a luggage direct service and I suggest you use it. They take your luggage from the cruise terminal to the airport. I believe it is free.
