What's the new policy on Celebrity? Throw anyone overboard who isn't wearing formal wear 24/7?
-
There are several Youtube videos of people missing or nearly missing the ship. One of the best ones was a really drunk group of people - one who was in in a wheelchair and couldn't walk because he was so drunk. Another one, a drunk friend was trying to carry and even more drunk friend.

I'm looking to book my first Princess cruise, so I thought I would sign up for an account on the website.
It says there are technical difficulties and it won't sign me up.
Anyone else having this problem or can suggest something?
EDIT: Nevermind! The Princess God's have spoken and allowed me to sign up. Thanks!

Yeah not working, I think you tried to post a link while in the booking mode looking at available cabins? That wont work. Need to just go to the main Princess page and choose ships/Coral/deck plans
Okay, so why would the room labels be different between looking at deck plans and booking the room?
Learning a new cruise line is stressful :(

I don't have a princess account, so no I wasn't logged in.
Here is the link again.

Click "choose my own"
and then Forward Caribe deck. The number/letters from Princess start at C101 but the other website start at C201.
I don't know what I'm doing wrong :(

The main page hasn't been loading completely for me for days.

We spend hours on the balcony in Alaska. The weather can turn ugly in an instant. Rain/Snow/wind/ and it can also get warm etc.
We stay outside regardless of the weather!
We try for a covered balcony. We stay away from the bumpout because of privacy as you mentioned. Here is a great site to see if a balcony is covered or not.

We like to go all the way forward or all the way aft so we have access to the forward and aft viewing areas.
Thank you. I was looking at the website you mention and also the princess website for the deck plans, but they don't seem to match up? I don't know what I'm doing wrong, but the numbers don't match. Do you see something I don't?
Here are the two pages.

What tips should I know for buying a regular balcony room on Coral? It will be an a Northbound Alaskan cruise.
Do I want a covered balcony?
What about the humps? Should I be as far away as possible? It seems the lack of privacy on the corner may be annoying. What about the middle or inside of the hump?
I notice that rooms go very high on this ship (compare to what I'm used to on Royal Caribbean) with rooms up to deck 12. Which deck would be best? We had rough seas last cruise and I couldn't imagine deck 12 would be fun in rough seas!
Thank you!

Sorry - accidentially posted here instead of a new thread I think.

I do appreciate Princess trying to concentrate the smokers in one or two ghettos.

We hope to do the b2b (north then southbound). Are there any good places to watch the world go by inside? We will likely have inside rooms so I'm looking to take advantage of any locations we could plop and stay a few hours at a time.
-
Are there lots of viewing places inside that would have chairs? I'm all for being outside but you can't be outside the whole time. We are planning on an inside cabin and just want to make sure there are places we could camp out and watch the scenery go by.

Is there anywhere I can check out all these drink packages?
-
Ships are Coral and Star.
I just learned there is no use for the Sanctuary as its not enclosed from the elements.
Are there in door (warm enough) pools for swimming? What about movies under the stars? Pointless in Alaska ?
-
Is the Sanctuary area usable on Alaskan sailings? Is it all open to the elements or are there inside parts?
-
There are many threads regarding which Princess ship to sail in Alaska. 90% plus will suggest the Coral Princess. Her sister ship, the Island went through a not so flattering modification. I have sailed on the Coral several times and she is one of my two favorite ships.
Are they identical ships or something? Like all in the same class? I'm not sure how Princess categorizes their ships.
Why is the Coral the favourite ship? Is she the most recently refurbished or something?
-
I'm looking to book two cruises to Alaska (back to back, one northbound, one southbound) and there are three ships to choose from.
They are the Island, Coral, and Star.
Which ship should I choose and why?
I'd be a first time Princess cruises (only sailed RCL at this point).

The BBQ on CocoCay is awesome! Great ribs! Explore the whole island - lots to see!
I personally found the soda package worth it - it depends how much you drink and of what.
Nassau - have you been before? There used to be a beach on Paradise Island that I'd suggest, but I think they've built on the land so you may not be able to access it anymore. The tours available from the ship are decent. We did one last time because it was too far to walk and everyone is a crazy driver there. It was good history of the Fincastle Fort (I think that was the name) and the staircase cut out of rock was nice to see.
Be wary of the market. It's an experience to go there but if you're looking for quality stuff, get it in key west.

Just wanted to mention that keeping something in the stomach can do wonders (eg. Crackers)
-
Do you mean take on the plane? Or take on the ship? You'd have to look at the airlines policy's about bags if you're talking about the plane.
-
No movies? That sucks :(
Lots of other things to do obviously, but sometimes after a long day it's nice to relax and watch a movie in your room!

I did a March Break cruise and it was fine. Lots of college kids but they weren't a problem. The captain told everyone at the beginning of the cruise what type of behaviours would not be accepted and said if you're late to the boat, you will be left behind, etc. It was a good cruise!

Thank you for your lovely review!

Glad you enjoyed it. I just got off today and it was the worst cruise I've ever been on. I found a lot of the staff to be rude, rushed and just unpleasant. We missed Coco Cay because of the wind, so we asked a guy walking by what time the pool bar opened and he shouted at us and asked us if 9am wasn't early enough for us. (Other cruisers turned around and were looking at him). The entire 2nd deck constantly smelled like a sewage cesspool. Last night we had to move rooms because sewage was back up and gurgling in our shower drain. Then while trying to get out of the room that smelled like wreteched ****, the steward told me to stay in because someone was violently vomiting in a cup right outside my room and he thought some got on the floors.
The ship was used and abused. All the chairs are stained ad gross. I DID NOT like it. My first and last time on Royal.
Don't get me wrong, I love Majesty, but if you're trying out RCI, you might have faired better if you didn't pick one of the oldest ships in the entire fleet.
Coffee Cards/Drink packages
in Princess Cruises
Posted · Edited by kingsgirl
Can someone direct me as to where I can read about the coffee cards and other drink packages or could you be so kind as to explain them?
I've searched the forum but the posts are really old (2011) and I can't bring anything up on the Princess website without a booking it seems.
I'm new to Princess - just trying to learn about everything. Thanks!
