  1. On the track this morning. Bags are still out, and we have small swells IMG_0026.mp4
  2. We got this letter about our itinerary change. Now I am curious about what type of insurance would cover an itinerary change, since it says you can use the letter as proof? I looked at our insurance, and didn’t see any applicable category.
  3. Last night was lobster night, which meant it was dress your best night. The meal was a little disappointing. This must be a south Maine lobster, because it was pretty small I had a vadalia onion tart which was not as good as past sailings. and the warm chocolate cake was not like the old molten cake. It has also disappointing that apple blossom and apple pie is no longer on the menu. We had to stop at JR’s for apple pie, and even it was underwhelming. At least it still doesn’t have raisins.
  4. Ship is rocking slightly, and we are doing 20 knots to make Nassau on Saturday now. Enough motion to bring out the doggie bags. Hiro canceled again tonight and rescheduled for day 8.
  5. No mention, but I assume they will have things cleaned up long before then. Whatever ship that was to be there today was canceled, as is ours tomorrow. Just check their website for itinerary changes.
  6. I can’t believe how many in the theatre were cheering for the change to Nassau. Wish they would have changed to CocoCay. By way of extra info, Labadee was changed because they had heavy rain and flooding that damaged the infrastructure. Blur Lagoon dolphin swim may be fun for the kids. We did that once, but who knows what will be offered. Of course, didn’t they recently have a major incident with the boat that takes you there?
  7. I haven’t noticed a difference, anytime we ordered one. Last night, the one we had was not as pink as we like.
  8. Now, I have seen dogs chasing cars on land, but I think this is the first time I have seen one chasing and barking at a scooter on the jogging track.
  9. Pro tip of the day Don’t walk thru El Loco Fresh on a very windy day, unless you want to chance getting hit with a flying plate of beans. It looked like they just got done filming Animal House food fight scene. I felt bad for the clean up crew. No self serve handling of utensils here today. Something must be going on.
  10. Technology update. Starlink is good at times, and bad at times. Had trouble connecting in the solarium for a while. Plugs in the cabin - better than some ships, but rapidly becoming old school. Two usb type A ports at the desk and three us plugs and one European. There is one us plug by the bed, and I haven’t bothered to look under it. It seems technology has moved mainly to usb Type C plugs now. I bought this little gem this summer to charge all our devices. Five usb Type C and two usb Type A plugs. Enough power to charge my iPad, two iPhones, two Apple Watches, and power banks. we have two Anker power banks we bring along to make sure we maintain power while ashore.
  11. Maybe time for some random things, since I am lounging around on this sea day. We have 1,470 kids onboard, under the age of 17. I would have guessed there were more. I don’t know if they counted Daryl in that total. They said to expect more on our Utopia sailing this summer. If I wasn’t adding three to that total, I would avoid that summer sailing.
  12. oh, the dreaded red eye from SFO. My son and his family have a red eye from SFO, so we will pick them up at the airport after we are off the cruise. we always try to avoid red eye flights.
  13. There is something wrong with his driving, because the sun was on the wrong side this morning
  14. A daily position report for @harryfat1 Only sailing at 17.7 knots this morning.
  15. Before we went to the beach in Curaçao, we had walked around town. A few pictures. Lots of Decorations I always like the colorful buildings The Love Hearts display More decorations across the bridge Walked down to the Curacao sign And the Dushi sign Found this colorful building and our ship An elevated view as we crossed the bridge on the way to the beach
  16. I know it is early to think about departure, but I filled out our departure information and requested the latest time of 9-9:30. So what do they give us? The earliest. Probably because we are doing self assist. I think since they said we can depart “whenever you are ready”, we will be close to last off.
  17. My son said this today. I told him it was probably no more questions than this guy got, checking into the hotel with his blowup.
