We've been on 11 Princess cruises across 7 different ships, and we've just booked the Sun for next June. All that said, it's making me a little goofy that Princess keeps changing terminologies!! So, when is it sanctuary or signature? There's no premium beverage package, it's premier... There are no penthouse suites, they're vista... wasn't there a vista before also?? There's a reserve dining room, but it's the signature cabins that are assigned there?! Yet, sanctuary collection rooms are assigned to the signature dining room!! Horizon was the name of the buffet, but now it's the main dining room?! If they're trying to confuse me, they have succeeded!! 😜😜

In the midst of all the upcoming October changes and outrageous pricing, we're going ahead and booking a Vista Suite for Istanbul to Rome on July 19, 2025... doing a happy dance 🙂

Please clarify what is a Penthouse Suite? The itinerary I'm looking at offers a Signature, Vista, or Grand Suite.

Thank you! And, somewhat disappointing information 😞 In recent years, we've moved away from Princess to the Retreat on Celebrity. We were really thinking that maybe Princess would "right the ship 😜" and find their lane to compete with the Retreat, Haven, Yacht Club, etc. The price for the S4 suite on the itinerary that we're looking at certainly should provide outstanding amenities. It's not whether we'll sail Princess, it's what room category gives us the best value.

Great idea to have a separate thread for the Sun Princess! I'm so glad I found this 🙂 We're thinking of doing the Istanbul to Rome in July 2025. I have 3 questions that I can't figure out from the website or deck plans: 1) Where is the Sanctuary restaurant? 2) Does the Suite Lounge have bar service? 3) Do any of the suites have double vanities? Thank y'all very much!!

Will do! This will be our first time on Explorer - however, we've been on the other Voyager Class ships 12 times!!

We travel on Explorer in May 🙂 So, we're anxious to hear about the changes! I guess we'll know in March!!

Glad to see this thread is a little bit active again! We've decided on PR718 for our cruise next October. From what I've continued to read, the first rooms in this stretch (PR701 and PR702) are right next to the door from the Promenade back inside. Apparently there's quite a bit of noise from the doors opening and closing as people realize they can't walk around. I've also found out that "white space" on the deck plan (between 718 and 722 as well as 719 and 723) is a linen storage closet.

We love our Chase Sapphire Reserve! Not only 3 points per dollar travel, but, with the insurance coverage and travel rebate the card pays for itself! We've not used the points for a cruise, but it's wonderful for air. In January, we'll be flying from DFW to Singapore via Helsinki and back through Tokyo. We'll circumnavigate the globe, all in business class, for $700 per person!!

Since they are newer, I'm wondering if there are any differences in the Promenade balcony rooms and the other balcony cabins on the Island Princess. I know the balconies are covered and have teak decking... but are there differences in the room itself?
