Thank you so much for posting this....we are leaving on the Summit in 14 days for a B2B and we are so excited!!!!!
So much to do...so little time!

We have sailed on Royal and Celebrity both. Doing a B2B on Summit in January. We love the Elite happy hour---much better than Royal. There are things we like about both lines! Celebrity is much quieter. Cruising is the best!

Thank you for your posting . DH and I have a B2B on Summit in January---we are excited! I appreciate the posting about Bistro! We plan to visit now. If you dine at QSine, please post! We are tempted to try it for the first time. Have a great vacation!

Bless your heart for posting this experience--Prayers for all of you. I hope the travel insurance, etc. will pick up most of this bill. Take care!

It might be the coupon book delivered to your stateroom on the first day. It is usually based on your status. It could be for a free scoop of Gelato, laundry service, internet time, casino credit? Honestly, we hardly ever use the coupons unless we have an emergency laundry need.

My DH and I were on the Connie and we loved it! We enjoyed the shows and the ports. We really like the Solarium and just plain relaxing around the pool area. On Sea Days, it would be nice to have a few more activities like RCI does...it is basically just a difference in the cruise lines, I think. We book the trip based on the ports and prices, so we love both RCI and Celebrity (esp. Celebrity's Elite cocktail hour which is MUCH better than RCI's).

We have done a B2B only on RCI, but we have one scheduled with Celebrity in January.
Captain's Club told me over the phone (we have the same cabins for both cruises), that it will be just like on RCI since it is a US port.
We leave the room as is, go to a designated spot in the port, get new Sea Passes, and may go off the ship to explore or go back to the ship. We will not be able to access our cabins till everyone else does though due to cleaning, etc. We just hang out at the pool and loved it!
If we had a different cabin, we would just pack up and the cabin stewards will move the luggage...same for everything else.

Thank you so much for all of your opinions and recommendations! It was very helpful, especially the links! I think my DH and I will definitely go and since we are doing a B2B, try it ourselves and then see if the parents want to do it on the second cruise!

My DH and I have been offered discounts the specialty restaurants on each cruise we have been on....just wait and if the reservations are low, they will send out someone to offer discounts to guests.

Has anyone tried Qsine on Celebrity Summit? It looks intriguing--I looked at the menu. What do you actually get for the $45? Do you select an appetizer, soup/salad, and entrée or just one item for the menu? Would my very traditional 77 year old parents enjoy it? ANY comments would be most welcome. My DH and I are foodies and would like to try it.

We received pins on Royal and they are lying in the bottom of my jewelry box. During the cruise we got them, I lost my safety pins so I used it to repair my bra strap till I could get to the cabin to get duck tape.

We always decorate our cabin door whether we are on Celebrity or Royal. It is fun and makes it MUCH easier to find.

On the US government website, it also noted you must turn in your OLD passport in order to get your new one...unless it is lost or stolen, then you have to fill out an additional form in order to get your new one.

Fantastic! Jared, you are GREAT!

They will make sure you get your elite perks if you let them know!

My family and I have done this---never again. It was a nightmare from start to end. Wrong tags, wrong names on the tags, not enough tags, lost luggage, ARGHHHH!
Maybe they have worked out the kinks and our experience was unusual, but lessoned learned for us: we won't do it again.

We just booked a B2B in January to include our parents....the agents from Celebrity were wonderful and I had at TON of questions since we did Choice Air as well.
Disney and RCI have always been great to us as well.
My issues start after we board with Guest Relations. We have had not so good luck with Guest Relations on any line we have been on...they just don't have the required people skills and training, IMO.

Excellent article from the New Yorker!!

We love the cocktail hour!!! My DH and I both think it is much better than RCI (whom we love dearly) due to the selection and the snacks. We are going with our parents on a B2B in January and switched up our cabins so our parents will be ELITE also and go with us to the cocktail hour. FUN!!!

We are always approached in the MDR at lunch or supper with one of the dining staff who offered us a 30% discount....

Mushroom soup in the MDR; almond croissants for breakfast; Italian pasta ala carte grill in the Oceanview in mid afternoon

Kid's Club Rocks!!!! We have used it and the kids LOVED it. The employees are all background checked and have education in child development. My DH and I both work for a major police department and believe me, we checked it out thoroughly.
