  1. Because we just intuitively know how to look good regardless of what we’re wearing. We can fluff up the hair, put on our lipstick, add some glitzy jewelry and, voila, the outfit we wore to the grocery store now looks like a million bucks! Never, ever try to tell a woman what she can or cannot wear.
  2. My DH is a Brit and he knew immediately what the OP was referring to in her question. I’ve learned an entirely different English language over the years!
  3. If you choose Princess then all you need to do is call and ask to be assigned to one of their Cruise Vacation Professionals (aka CVP). I have a CVP who does all the leg work when booking a cruise, making changes such as refaring, or just asking general questions. No wait on hold. If I get her voicemail, she calls back within 30 minutes. It’s a no brainer and completely free of charge!
  4. We sailed on Breakaway a few years ago on a Bermuda sailing. We were very disappointed, as we usually sail on Celebrity Summit for this itinerary. The ship seemed so bargain basement to us from the decor to the food. However, O’Malleys, a complimentary restaurant, was terrific for breakfast. The buffet was a zoo, so we avoided it. Service was fine, but not exemplary as you would find on Princess. Entertainment was good, but nothing to rave about. Many children were onboard as it was during summer holidays. NCL does attract more children than either Celebrity or Princess. Regal Princess is the second sister of the Royal Class ships and it’s lovely. Very elegant and beautifully appointed. The food, in my opinion, is better on Princess, but food is so subjective. Yes, you will find less children on Regal, but for us this is a big plus. Entertainment is typical cruiseship. Service is always top notch on Princess. International Cafe is a delightful place for a coffee and light snack while people watching. The food is fresh and very good. Specifically coffees comparable to Starbucks. Personally, I would avoid Breakaway and embrace Regal Princess. However, you are going to get a completely different perspective on the NCL boards. They have a very loyal following and their ships are very popular for all the amenities that we dislike. Good luck with your decision and I wish you happy sailing on either ship.
  5. Yes, and I appreciate your humour, especially this week. I knew you were just kidding, as was I.
  6. When we were first married I was still in university getting my dental degree and there were lots of late nights studying. My DH quickly learned to become very self sufficient. Now he’s a pro! BTW I’m trying to be upbeat because right now we should be on Regal Princess in the British Isles. Our senior dog had a major health crisis, so we had to cancel 10 days before sailing. So, my friends, thanks for the smiles today!
  7. I don’t know about you, but I would not, now or ever, be washing my husbands underwear in the sink or anywhere else. He’s a big boy and does his own laundry. It’s not the 50’s anymore! lol
  8. I can just imagine what you deleted! lol
  9. Nope, it’s because women say either lingerie or bras and panties. I don’t know one women who says she wears underwear, regardless of where she bought it. Maybe it’s a Canadian thing, I don’t know. On the other hand, guys wear underwear.
  10. Yes! Just be prepared for a longer wait if you get there super early.
  11. Never doubted you even a little bit. Thank you for your research.
  12. Your version is very sweet. Symbol of hospitality definitely fits.
  13. Well, if you display a pineapple on a cruiseship door it suggests that the occupants are engaged in a happy dance. Very happy. Don’t ask why I know this.
  14. Okay, I’m lost! This must be an inside joke. Do tell!😉
  15. Everyone is different. Most passengers love it and never want to leave. Makes it difficult for others to take part in the fun, but there’s always another evening. I agree, it can be a bit much, but it’s Celebrity’s signature bar and they do very well.
  16. If you’ve enjoyed The Martini Bar on a Celebrity ship you will be very disappointed with what you’ll find on a Princess ship. You can certainly find a martini, but you will not find the experience.
  17. Do you make an appointment to see the Captain or do you just walk onto the bridge unannounced? I would have thought the bridge was a high security area. Very interesting.
  18. Stop by where? The Bridge? The Maître’d is in one of the MDRs usually (Now referred to as The Dining Room Manager). Why do you need to say hello to the DRM or the Captain and Staff Captain? Not being disrespectful, just very curious. Thank you.
  19. Lunch in the MDR with a cocktail and then off to our cabin. If you want to reserve the Sanctuary, run, don’t walk! Wait for luggage to arrive and safety video on tv. On deck for sail-away and back to the cabin for cocktails on the balcony and get ready for dinner. After dinner, cocktails in the casino and checkout the lounges. Off to bed with a little nightcap, for me a wee Bailey’s. And, that’s day one.
  20. I don’t use the facecloths anyway. Body sponge, not puff, for the shower and facial wipes (Beekmans 1802 goats milk). The detergent they use in the laundry is hard on the delicate skin on the face.
  21. Just looked at 2024 for Royal class ships and everything is available. This is so strange!
