  1. Can anyone share a photo or link to O's current wine list? My husband doesn't drink, and we'll be on our first 30-day cruise. I'll generally have one (or rarely, two) glasses with dinner, period. I'm debating with myself about picking up some wine in L.A. before embarking vs. purchasing bottles onboard - which is what I usually do.
  2. We booked with them for January. Can you tell me if their boats have a cover from the sun?
  3. Thanks for posting this comparison. I totally agree that X is a better product. After 12 Princess cruises, we left them long ago for Celebrity, and even beyond...to Oceania.
  4. Sorry about that. I misunderstood your meaning.🫢
  5. Why on earth would you deliberately be nasty to someone who just wants to relax in peace?
  6. It’s so true that we all have different opinions on just about anything. No way do I want to carry around a phone all day. Mine goes right into the safe when I board. 😁
  7. I've never brought wine onboard, mainly because I don't want to carry a bottle of wine to the dining room. Is there any discreet way to have the wine sent to the sommelier?
  8. Gdansk, Warsaw, Poznan, Toruń, Wrocław, Krakow, and a small town near Rzeszow. I visited Krakow 10 years ago and have wanted to return to see more of that beautiful country.
  9. Not at all. In fact, I am visiting Poland next month.
  10. What I like about the MSC itinerary is an overnight in Stockholm. I canceled a cruise on a different line b/c they shortened the Stockholm visit to 8AM to 4PM, which is insane for such an important port.
  11. I'm glad to have found this thread. I have questions about our stop at Bay of Islands? We're on Oceania Insignia, and I would love to know the logistics of the port call. Is it actually a port where we can disembark? A town? The ship's excursions to Russell are sold out, and I'm hoping there's something else to do there. Help, please!
  12. How convenient is the Pier One Sydney Harbour Hotel (a Marriott)? It juts out under the Harbour Bridge. Is it walkable to restaurants and Circular Quay ferries? How are the views?
  13. I understand your wanting to see both sites when you call at Aqaba, but you'd miss so much. I spent time in Jordan last September. In one day at Petra, I walked over 7 miles...and didn't even hike up to the monastery...saw everything down past the Treasury. It's hot and very exhausting. If you try to rush it in only a few hours, you'll miss so much. As for Wadi Rum, I spent 2 days there, with an overnight in a tented camp. Magical doesn't even begin to describe it. An hour in Wadi Rum is not worth the time or effort to get there, especially if it's not a ship's excursion. My suggestion is to spend the day at Petra...enjoy every moment!
  14. I don't know if you're still looking, but Oceania Insignia calls at Hawaii, FP, Fiji, American Samoa, and Samoa on its January 14, 2024 Los Angeles to Auckland.
  15. As an Italian-American, I've been told by a good friend that I'm a food snob! 🤣. The menu does look a bit sparse, but my mouth is watering, so I can live with it. A great itinerary at a great price is certainly worth a try! If you care to post more menus, I'd be so appreciative. Happy cruising!
  16. I'm sorry you canceled your Baltic cruise...we would have met. In fact, the reason I'm taking a chance on MSC is just because of the Baltic cruise. I figure we'll be off the ship everyday to sightsee - only onboard for breakfast and dinner every day except one sea day. I only need a safe sailing, a clean cabin and decent food. I figured - how bad can it be?!
  17. Could you post some menus from the dining room?
  18. thanks very much...looking forward to your impressions.
  19. I hope this isn't a dumb question.....if it is, please be kind. 😆. Planning our first-ever transocean for January-February, 30 days from L.A. to New Zealand. Ports in Hawaii, FP, Samoa, Fiji. Of course, I understand storms can occur at any time, but generally speaking, what temperatures can we expect when we're cruising along at-sea.....60s, 70s, 80s? Thanks in advance for advice on how/what to pack for this itinerary.
  20. Thanks! I can see that you are one of the most helpful voices on this forum. My plan is to bicycle to the public beach and swim in the lagoon. I'll be snorkeling on Bora Bora, which I understand is the best anywhere.....my husband doesn't snorkel so we'll just spend the Rangiroa day chillin' by the water, then maybe go over to the lookout for dolphins. I may bring my snorkel and mask to the public beach in case there's something to see from the shore. Do you have any other suggestions for the day here? Is there a restaurant near the beach? I've read you can also swim right from the tendering dock - what's that like? Thanks again.
  21. I assumed the Motus were public. Are they privately owned?
