  1. We received our full refund on June 11 back to our AMEX card. We requested a refund on March 23rd for our March 20 Tahiti cruise. Prior to NCL canceling our cruise we requested our gratuities to be canceled. Our TA did that on March 13. We were told it would take 7 to 10 days for the credit to our cc. We never received the canceled gratuities credit until June 11 when they were included with our cruise fare. Interestingly we received an email last week from NCL saying our refund was being processed and we would receive the refund in 7 to 10 days. We actually were refunded the $ on June 11 before we even got the email. We started a dispute a month ago with AMEX. We received a several page explanation from NCL stating that we were not eligible for a refund because we canceled the cruise. NCL canceled because the ship wasn't allowed to dock in Tahiti. So we reopened the dispute. Luckily we received our refund from NCL. We closed our cc dispute. Glad to have our refund. Our refund ended up happening at around 80 days. Check your credit card statement. You may find a nice surprise. Good luck everyone. Hope you receive your refund soon.
  2. Our cruise was canceled on March 13. I canceled our pre paid gratuities around March 10. We filled put the refund request. We have not received any $ including the gratuities which we were told would be about a week. I find it interesting that those who are canceling future cruises before final payment are receiving their refunds within weeks and we continue to wait at least 90 days. I'm guessing it's because as soon as they refund the future cruise they can then rebook the stateroom.
  3. Wish they were as fast with cruises they canceled.
  4. We had a cruise to Tahiti scheduled for March 20. We prepaid our gratuities. We canceled them on March 10. We were told it would be 7 to 10 business days to be refunded. On March 13 NCL cancelled our cruise. Our online TA refunded our $. Again stated 7 to 10 days. Then NCL changed policy and said we had to fill out the new refund form around March 24th. Now 90 days for refund. It's been 30 days. We haven't even received the promised gratuities Time to call AMEX.
  5. Enjoying your posts. Made me smile. We should be on our Tahiti cruise instead I fixed dinner for 6 tonight. At least it was in the 40's today. Colder with rain in the forecast. Maybe I'll sit on our deck this week with an umbrella and dream....
  6. We were scheduled to sail March 20 out of Tahiti. NCL informed us yesterday it was canceled. Our TA refunded our $ yesterday to our credit card. Happy to have the cash.
  7. We were scheduled to sail on the March 20 cruise from Tahiti. Two days ago the French Polynesia government shut down their islands to cruise ships. I found out on our roll call. NCL notified our travel agent today our cruise was canceled. We have a call into our TA to cancel for full refund. Haven't heard back from him yet. We were offered full refund or FCC plus 25% FCC. We were scheduled to fly to Tahiti on the 17th. If CC knew 2 days ago I'm sure NCL did. It has been difficult changing everything 4 days out. We have Delta flights and can't call until 72 hrs prior (if you can get through). I feel sorry for everyone who leaves tomorrow and was just notified. The Feb 28 cruise that we were supposed to board could not stop in Tahiti and had to go to the nearest port which was Fiji. Passengers have been in the dark about what is happening with their cruise shortened by a week. They are receiving updates through CC.
  8. Leaving on March 20 from Papeete Tahiti I found out through CC roll call about the required medical certificate to fly this week. No info from Delta, NCL or our TA about requirements to fly. I'm guessing there will be a lot of passengers without the info that will not be allowed to board the plane.
  9. We like the entertainment and food better on Royal. We can use our OBC for gratuities on Royal. Found out the last night on our NCL cruise we couldn't. I ended up buying jewelry that I didn't need or really want. I'm not sure why it would even matter to NCL what the OBC is used for.
  10. We are renting a car before our cruise. We chose Avis by the port. Hertz prices seem a lot cheaper. They do not include unlimited mileage. They charge for mileage. We wanted a car to explore the island.
