  1. [quote name='Mel&Ken']Cathy....

I am trying to stay cool - I know you get more bees with honey than with vinegar! ;) Its not always easy - like when they say they called you 10 days ago and you know they didn't!

I will call my insurance broker now to see what our home coverage includes - I am sure I will have to be settled with Celebrity first before I go that route.

I too keep thinking it will just turn up someday - what a pleasant surprise that will be. :D

I am sure your property insurance will cover everything & have Celebrity pay your deductible. Normally your insurance co will ask if you made a Police report? I wish you luck, it is no way to end a holiday.
  2. We upgraded from the Classic(included) to Premium for our cruise next March on the Eclipse. We were charged the $11.50 a day more per person for our 14 night cruise. We were told it's only more money if you do it onboard. You have to phone Cruise Enhancement dept. & they will do it over the phone as long as your cruise is not within 4 days.

  3. I have 2 questions about on board bookings.

We made a booking for a cruise during the 1, 2, 3 promotion in Feb. while we were on board another cruise. We didn't get the usual OBC from booking on board but were able to book with the reduced deposit.

If we need to cancel that cruise and transfer the booking number to another cruise will we get the OBC for having booked originally on board? (We didn't get it for the original booking because it didn't combine with 1,2, 3)

In the same vein, one of the cruises I booked now has a Senior rate. If I change to that rate I lose the 1,2, 3 but will I then get the OBC from having originally booked on board?

I thought about calling Celebrity with these questions but I wanted an accurate answer so am coming here.

    Thanks!

You can change your cruise to another one & the 1,2,3go, goes with it if the cruise you are booking is before April 1,2014. You cannot get the senior rate unless it is still classified as a 5 star rate. I do not believe you can change it to OBC with the senior rate because you chose the 123 at the time of booking.

  4. I think in the coming months we will find out if the promo did indeed change the pricing per drink. I am hoping people keep reporting their experiences and the current drink pricings and policies.

We were on the Silhouete on Feb 3 & never saw anyone with small martini's we did take advantage of the 123 go & up graded to the premium. It was well worth the difference if you wanted martini's to drink. Our martini bar was extremely busy each night. The only time we saw a small martini being served was during the Elite hours & Captain's club functions.

  5. Thanks Andy,

We are sailing in 4 weeks, upgraded on Jan 7. We have our eDocs and luggage tags. I've asked for an updated invoice on several occasions and have just been told to be patient. Wait times have exceed 30 minutes and as of yet, I have nothing.

As all this was done over the phone, I really have no "proof" that it has been done (or hasn't), I am just concerned, but have resigned myself to simply trusting. Not sure what my recourse is if we show up and there is nothing on our account.

I don't really think I'm asking for much, just a quick confirmation email.....or something!

We are on the Feb 3 Silhouette & received a copy of our booking confirmation & it says Wav7-Prem Bev so I would keep asking for a copy if I were you.

  6. I just booked a 123 promotion for early next year for a two-week Caribbean cruise on the Eclipse. We took the drink packages.

I asked my TA to upgrade from the Classic Drink Package to the Premium Drink package, which I understand you can do for $10/person/day.

TA told me that when booking, Celebrity agent reported that it had to be done onboard.

Is this true? I don't want to be stuck with a Classic Drink Package--and want to make sure we are upgraded to a Premium Drink Package.

How do I do it? Can I call Celebrity and do it myself, or does my TA have to do it because I booked through a TA? When do you pay for upgrade--when you request upgrade or just before the cruise? When must you do the upgrade--now or later?

I think my TA may have got bad information from a Celebrity agent who did not know what they were talking

about. Should I just call Celebrity myself and try to sort it out?

    What have other people done?

Your TA is wrong we are cruising in Feb & upgraded to the Premium package as soon as we took the 123 go, I would make sure you have it before you cruise. We were advised that since we were cruising in Feb they may not charge us until we are onboard, if we do not pay it ahead of time it would be on our onboard account. You would have to do it through you TA.

  7. Does anyone know if senior rate booking qualify for the promotion. We originally booked A2 which has gone up $450 but I have seen that there is a senior offer on A1 which makes it the same price that we paid for our A2. T/A has eventually said we could have the offer if we pay the additional €900 price increase.

It has to say Five star booking, the senior rate would not qualify.

  8. I've wondered the same thing. Decided that if it doesn't, I'll just have

to order each martini separately. I'm wondering if one can order a half-size drink? It would be easier than drinking half and throwing the rest away.

Does anyone have any experience ordering 1/2 drinks? Or at the end of the

day, after several glasses of wine at dinner, can you order, let's say, a chocolate martini without the vodka? Sounds terrible but I might not enjoy

all the extra tasteles vodka...meaning I wouldn't miss that part of the drink. Make any sense????

You can basically make up your own drink & they will make it for you but it will still count as 1 drink!

  9. Just putting in my 2 cents worth here. We decided to try the Premium package on the Century in Jan. Although they claim you can have a glass of wine up to $12. there was not one to choose from on the wine menu, which was very disappointing. The highest price was $9.50. We did enjoy being able to drink Martini's etc whenever we wanted but since we are Elite it was tough fitting it all in to make it worthwhile. The only problem I had was in the Martini bar after I had ordered a martini, I asked the bar staff for a water & they basically told me I had to drink my Martini first before I could have water. This seemed odd to me so I went to the bar & asked for the water & it was no problem.

  10. Thanks for the answers. This question (see abowe) is still a big ??.

I have mailed Celebrity and they answerd like this:"The preliminary price for our beverage packages do not include the 15% gratuity; however, it will be added during check-out. This will only be charged once." What happend to this: "For your convenience, a 15% gratuity has been automatically included in the price of all beverage packages"? I think the information on the website is misleading and makes me wonder how much more that can be misinterpreted.

    I will contakt them again....

    /sollan

If you go into your booking & buy the drink package on line when you go to check out & pay for it the 15% will be added on top & you will see exactly what you are paying for.
