  1. I loved your review. I loved that you chose the Breeze as your 1st cruise. Such a great choice. Me and my boyfriend went on his 1st cruise 3 years ago on the Paradise. Older ship, so it didn't convince him much. We are booked on his 2nd cruise (my 22nd) in April on the Breeze and he is already pumped. Pictures and Youtube videos and my talking about it since I went in August of 2014 have gotten him really excited. The Breeze is definitely the ship to take to convince you that cruising is the thing to do. I'm glad you had a great time and I look forward to your upcoming cruise reviews!

  2. The whole dang cruise is a single meet-n-greet to me!

I agree. I have always met people on the first night or even before the first night (thanks cruisecritic). You just have to be willing to be approachable and to be outgoing yourself.

I hear NCL does this single cruisers party like event. I also hear that it's a big hit.

  3. If you just want the free wine with your meal, go to on the 1st night for sure.

But you can find the main dining room menus of your sailing either here, or somewhere else online. Check out the menus and you can probably decide that way.

Someone recently posted a link to the 6 day Breeze menus, and I was able to look at them and see which night had menus that would most likely be unappealing to me and the boyfriend. The 2 night that didn't have the best menuu, I booked the Steakhouse and Italian restaurants.

  4. Last time I ate at the Steakhouse and Italian restaurant, I paid then and there.

Now, I would like to make a reservation ahead of time. If I put the reservation in now (online), will the charge be on my sail and sign card from the moment I set onboard? Or will I be charged right now and the prices be added to my balance for my upcoming cruise on Carnival.com right now?

I'm asking because my boyfriend is paying for this cruise but I don't want him to be charged if I book it now.

  5. I recently did this a couple of months ago and had no problem. We were booked on the Liberty for December but the flights to Puerto Rico from Chicago was waaaay to expensive and there were no direct flights. We were able to change our cruise to the Breeze for April and only had a small penalty fee of $50 (total). There was no other issue.

  6. I've been on 2 New Year's cruises on Carnival. They have been amazing! There were at least 2 places to celebrate as far as I know. The 1st was the atrium and the big main party was on Lido. I was on Lido for both of my experiences. They had a giant countdown party, free champagne, streamers, dj, and the big screen was showing the countdown all over the world including New York. The boat was really rocking on those nights!

Afterwards, there was an early breakfast buffet for the people who need a little food in their system from all of the festivities lol

When it comes to your NYE outfit, I've seen various styles. I've seen jeans and a t-shirt to formal gowns. It really just depends on what you feel like doing that night. That's what great about cruising, you're on vacation! Do what makes you happy.

  7. The Blue Iguana Cantina is absolutely free. It serves tacos, burritos, huevos rancheros and breakfast burritos. There is also a salsa bar right next to it that has different salsas, hot sauces, and condiments.

There is no alcohol served at the Cantina.

Right next to the Blue Iguana Cantina is the Blue Iguana Tequila Bar. There you can purchase drinks.

I do not know anything about the regular Burrito Bar that is on the Magic from personal experience. I have heard about it though. From what I hear, it is not anything special to write home about in comparison to the Blue Iguana Cantina. But I'm sure it is still a delicious option.

  8. If you want to be near the action Lido deck is where you should be. Lido is where the sail away parties happen. If you are into line dancing and a party like atmosphere, that is the place to be.

Other wise, if you are all about the view of sailing away from port and/or spending time with whoever you you came with, go with one of the places people have already suggested.

I've either spent it on Lido, or napping in my room from exhaustion because of a long day of travel (we are fly in the day of kind of people) lol

  9. I was once picked on a cruise to be "hypnotized", and I still think it is pretty fake lol. Either that, or I'm just immune to it. I remember trying my best to not laugh and act however the guy wanted me to so he wouldn't look bad. I was put on three stools laying down (head, butt, feet). Then he removed the one holding my butt. Boy was it a struggle but luckily I had good balance. To the audience, it looked as if he had me so under his control. People were coming up to me the rest of the cruise asking what it was like. I gave a vague answer. I think that guy owes me money lol.

So, since your daughter was actually able to be hypnotized, can you ask her, "what was it like?"

  10. While not exactly adult only, I am hoping that the pool area in the Havana section of the Vista will be quieter than the lido pool. Granted, as of today, the Havana pool area is marketed as being exclusive to guests in the Havana cabins, so that doesn't help those that have cabins in other parts of the ship.

I was hoping that area would be adults only. It makes sense. Once again, I know Carnival is a family ship, but I think it would be neat to advertise the Havana Section as adults only. I think they would be much more coveted. I'm sure Carnival would make a bit more money advertising them as exclusive. People pay much more money for a bit of privacy.

Knowing that Carnival caters to all ages and all types of families, it seems only right to have more Adults only areas. Like I said before, even Disney is catering to adults too.

BTW, I've never cruised Disney. I've only been on 4 Royal Caribbean, 18 Carnival, and one Big Red Boat. So, I'm not team Disney or team Royal at all in case that came to mind lol

  11. Yeah, I think adding an adult pool to already existing Serenity areas would be too much of a hassle. I wouldn't suggest that at all.

But, since there is already an aft pool on Breeze, that is a bit smaller than the main pool, they should just start putting up signs and enforcing it. Preferably before my April cruise lol.

Another suggestion, would be to put the Serenity area around the adults only pools. It seems kind of weird and a bit of bad planning that on most Conquest class ships, the Serenity area is very forward and the adult pool is so far aft. I think this is on one of the ships now...the Pride?

Maybe because the pizza station is right near there so kids would still be around? Maybe I just answered my own question? lol

Oh well, all things for them to think about in the future if they happen to read this discussion......................

  12. @Jcearth

I'm sure Carnival will continue to market towards families with kids since Carnival is a family cruise line. Still an adults only pool would have been nice. Nothing wrong with catering to adults a little more. Hey, even Disney has adults only areas and they are definitely all about the kiddos.

Even when I have kids, I'm sure I'll still like some adults only pool time while they're at Camp Carnival.

I just want that pool back with newer Carnival ships lol.
