  1. Good morning! It’s 3:57 AM in California and I’m wide awake and feel like I’m zooming on cold meds. It’s currently 48 degrees and much needed rain is eminent. Doing better, less drainage and hopefully I’m on the mend from this terrible cold and can return home Monday. Another day around the house so more time for reading and of course surfing around Cruise Critic Thanks for the reports and post and concerns about my health. Have a grand day.
  2. On a second thought as I was getting ready for trip I realized I’m not fit to fly. I have had a head cold that everyone has experienced when granddaughter brought home from pre school. My head is draining like a sieve and I’ve been hacking up phlegm enough that I have strained a chest muscle. Everyone has tested negative for Covid since this started and all negative. It’s a barnstormer head cold that I don’t need to spread around. We will try to fly home again Monday.
  3. Getting up early in California and will be heading to airport in an hour. It’s going to be a long day won’t get home around 7 PM. Long layover in LA! Thanks for the reports and post. @MISTER 67good to hear your back on the course.
  4. On another thread folks were commenting today how Hal’s Web Site has been acting up or down. Could be the problem.
  5. Good morning. It a brisk 38 degrees this morning in the Bay Area. No on the cauliflower pizza. I’m a traditionalist when it comes to pizzas. Red based sauce and thin regular crust. Another day of sitting around the house and will be starting a new book and pack as we have to be at Oakland airport at 6:00 AM! I believe son is picking up to go food from a Greek Restaurant tonight. Not much to add here other then thanks for the reports and to all who contribute.
  6. @JazzyVour sympathies to you and DF family. Good morning! It’s another sunny day in California starting in low forties and warming to sixties later on. We have a couple of more days here before flying home Wednesday. It has been a great visit. Kids are off working today and granddaughter is in pre school so without a car our options are limited. Maybe a walk, finish a book or just sit in the sun and enjoy the view from there house. I know we have volunteered to prepare dinner and I’ll be cooking pork chops on the grill. Exciting to see many of you are presently on cruises or soon will be. It’s what we love to do. Thanks for the reports and post. Prayers for those in need.
  7. Good morning. The brisket cooked for eight hours and was delicious! Folks are just starting to rise and we haven’t discussed any plans for the day if any. Time to head for the coffee pot and this I Pad is in serious need of a charge. Thanks for the reports. Later!
  8. Just a quick hello and thank you. Pitmasters have been up early getting a large brisket on the smoker. My son makes some of the best brisket we’ve ever had. We all are still having sniffles but testing still supports it’s a day care head cold. We are looking forward to our visit to Vietnam in 2024 World Cruise. Especially DaNang where I was stationed for a year on my first tour. Will try and catch up later but moi has been tasked with several projects. Thanks for the reports and post.
  9. Good morning/afternoon. Late to bed and late to rise. We had a lovely traditional thanksgiving dinner. DIL made a pecan fig bourbon pie that was different but very good. Today I have take granddaughter to play ground duty which will be fun. Another blue sky cool morning day that will warm up as the day goes on. Roy you can take me off the celebration list as I have been here coming up on two weeks. We return Nov 30. Have not and never will partake in Black Friday. For several years other then grandchildren we have not exchanged gifts but the money we would have spent goes to charity. It definitely takes off what to give pressures and the satisfaction that someone who really needs help is more rewarding. Have a great day and enjoy those leftovers. Thanks for the reports.
  10. No question about it. Being avid Cruise Critic members and readers can and will make for better cruises by being knowledge cruisers. This site has definitely improved our many cruise experiences.
  11. One of the main reasons this Thanksgiving has been so special. MS. Mathilda aka Tilly.❤️
  12. Thank you for a great review of your cruise experience. Very well done!
  13. Happy Thanksgiving to all who are celebrating this count your Blessings day. We have changed our dinner plans as I’m the only one who has no symptoms from granddaughters pre school head cold. Everyone else is sniffling and coughing. So DIL’s mother delivered an entire meal here! Everyone has tested negative for Covid so we will stay home and minimize spreading our germs. It’s another beautiful sunny day here so maybe I’ll get a walk in but will let it warm up some from current 48 degrees. Thanks for the reports and post. Have a great and thankful day.
  14. We return to our family’s home today. This has been a wonderful and beautiful side trip. Yesterday, we visited Hearst Castle. What a beautiful setting, architectural wonder and collection of art and decorated for the holidays. We had a late lunch which was enough we all waived dinner watched another sunset and everyone retired to bed early. May all celebrating Thanksgiving have a wonderful and safe holiday.
  15. Another sunny day starting around 50. We leave in a few minutes as we have reservations to tour Hearst Castle. Yesterday, we just enjoyed hanging out with walks on beach, reading, grilled shrimp on the grill. We have actually eaten in more then planned as this rental is so well equipped cooking has been easy. Last night’s sunset had a multitude of various colors and views. Gorgeous! Thanks for the Fleet Report.
  16. Good morning. Today is no plans day so everyone is just starting to rise. We had a beautiful drive through the country side yesterday as we visited two wineries. Foliage is at it’s peak and there is a lot of gold and the red from Japanese Red Maples is stunning. We grilled rib eyes last night at the cottage and enjoyed a couple of red wines we had purchased on our wine tasting. We have been to today’s port of call while cruising on the Prisendam and really enjoyed our visit. We basically did and saw what others have so graciously posted. The scenic cruising done the next day was loaded with glaciers and even a couple of Polar Bears. We we’re treated to another gorgeous sunset last night which was pretty much a duplicate of the sunset pictures I posted yesterday. So I’m looking at a day of sitting, enjoying the view and finishing the book I’m reading. Have a great week.
  17. Good morning from Cayucos Beach, California. We had a beautiful drive down through Big Sur and Pacific Coast Highway. The house the kids rented is beautiful with lovely views and perfect setting for gorgeous sunsets. Today’s agenda is wine tasting at two vineyards along with lunch. Most meals will be out as we didn’t bring a lot of cooking supplies with us. Four adults and a toddler in a Tesla was pretty tight quarters for riding! Thanks for the reports and post.
