  1. The latest is I now can't access any bookings, whether using the password route or the 'booking number and name' one. The only area I can see is 'My Profile'. I'm also now back to Classic level with no points showing!

Same here, we are so ready to book but can’t even get in the site! I am curious how many points we got for last cruise.

  2. No, not Mario but Massimo and he was wonderful. Visited each table when he wasn’t cooking. He fixed cherries Jubilee on my 80th birthday (was just a coincidence) but he made everyone feel special. Mostly Italian spoken.

  3. I like to hear this. We have three YC cruises booked on Meraviglia.

Oh you are so blessed, hard to get a booking lately.

There is so much to enjoy on this ship, the staff was excellent and food! The Maitre’d fixes special pasta dishes in the dining room and shared his recipes. Enjoy it all!

Sure sounds like a complaint to me. You attribute purposes for Yacht Club that MSC never claimed. As several have mentioned, YOU don't get to set the parameters of what Yacht Club is for. It is suitable for families because they book families into it. I suspect any awkwardness on your recent trip was yours alone.

Personally I don't care where or how you vacation. And your assumption that adult only means an 'old folks line' is either ignorant of the vast array of adult only vacation options or just silly.

Wow do you feel good about beating up an old lady? You added nothing positive or helpful to the conversation. You won’t stop me from posting information that I personally witnessed. Shame on you for being so rude to a stranger.

  5. The mattress on Meravigila YC Deluxe Suite was fantastic. When we first laid down DH said this feels just like home, and it was! Same brand and softness, best mattress on any previous cruise and did not separate.

  6. You certainly have the right to have the vacation you want. But if you want a vacation without kids around you should go somewhere that doesn't allow kids. Not go somewhere that allows kids and then complain about kids being there. There are a lot of adult only vacation options if it is that important to you. Apparently it really isn't that important after all, since you are willing to continue with MSC and kids.

I never complained about kids...ever. I was reporting what I saw first hand. People are so quick to judge and just have to remark for no good purpose.

So you would all have me cruise an old folks line? Ok count me out...happy?

  7. It´s funny that you think you could set up the rules for MSC.

MSC is an Italian cruise line in a really affordable price segment. Altough we are talking here about Yacht Club it is still in comparison to other cruise lines really a good value - also for families with kids. The Italians are especially kids friendly so they will not change their policy in that for sure! If you want a kids free cruise book a kids free cruise and stay away from MSC.

To all the others, who think kids are all just a pain in their ... - come on - put the stick out of your ... ;) You also were kids, and you also wanted to have fun in those days - maybe you now want just to be bored... We have been on 6 cruises with our 3-year-old and two more to come the 8th is within YC on Bellissima. We never had a problem except one time when a old woman was rude to us because she complained that our boy swung his feet while sitting on a babychair. I sould mention that this was during breakfast time in the buffet with a overall sound intensity like on a train station. Such a behaviour of adults is just ridiculous. Most time the other passengers had fun with our boy and kept smiling with him. You have to understand that parents cannot control the mood of their little kids all the time - kids are also independent persons and if they feel pain, injustice or something else they are sometimes screaming because they cannot express theirselves by telling you exactly whats wrong... I would not let run our boy around the pool while it is slippery (for our own interest that he doesn´t harm himself) but we in Europe luckyly have not regulated everything like widely in the US - luckyly there is something like a "common sense" what one should do or not and we do not need rules or regulations for every little thing... Because of this "common sense" we are also not writing in the manual of a microwave oven that you should not put your pet inside...;)

You are extremely hard on people you don't know! I was expressing my opinion of how YC is set up. We live with 22 disabled children ( a foundation for children) for past 27 yrs, once a year we cruise to get away. I am sure there are many like us who need the peace. I will continue to sail with MSC even tho you propose otherwise.

  8. Higher is not always better...we were in 16014, lovely, perfect all round, but I never get sea sick and I was popping' pills many days, missed dinner one evening. Its very rocky, constant movement but then we were in the North Sea, Norway. In any case all of YC are high up so ask Concierge for pills and Butler for ginger ale! Even with bad tummy..we would take same cabin.

  9. YC is not suitable for families and children, sorry but its for quiet, peace, reading and enjoying the live piano entertainment during high tea. We cruise during school times usually but we just returned, 1 child in YC and it was awkward for parents and preschooler.

  10. We just returned from Meraviglia Yacht Club where I used a wheelchair to board and a walker throughout the 14 day cruise in Norway. Europeans are not respectful to the disabled, for the most part. I was pushed, stepped over and jumped in front of many times where ever we went outside the YC. Even the disabled designated seats in the theater were not respected. There were very few Americans on this sailing.

The YC was perfect! Well worth any extra outside the area problems.

Btw we are Americans, living in Europe 25 yrs.

  11. Thanks Dennis, will talk and plan onboard and then come home and finish it myself. OBC or not, I don’t want her getting a dime. Found that agent on cruise critic, wish I could post the names and details. I do not want a fight, just riled up at the moment lol. Tomorrow we sail.....

  12. Have not sailed both but PRICE is the main factor we never go higher than Celebrity Concierge. We leave in 3 days on MSC in Deluxe Suite in YC and everything is included for sooo much less than any we have sailed. Private cabana included but not on list.

We are Elite with Celebrity and got to Black through Status Match on MSC.

  13. Yes, we got $50 on 9 day B2B and then $100 on the 10 day attached. Our 19 day cruise starts May 12, 2019 on Constellation, Mediterranean. All my good info comes from right here on Cruise Critic!

  14. The kid area are nowhere near the YC. The YC area is at the top front of the ship.. The most quiet place on the ship. The kid area are mid ship. The aqua kid play ground with slides etc are at the back.

I had an inner cabin at deck 15 in the YC and there was no noise at all except for the air-conditioning. Deck 16 is the YC lounge. Maybe you will hear some live music in the evening.

Oh then that will be very nice. Yes, we are 2 doors from the lounge. Thank you!:)

  15. We cruise next week in YC, deck 16 and worried it will be noisy since it appears to be close to kids area, true?

I have nothing against children just really need the rest. I hope to be able to enjoy watching all on the water slides, is that possible from 16? It appears you can see them. Thanks.

  16. NO. ours was not! She gave me 3 email arguments about Status Match before she would actually go and look.

We basically did all ourselves and so far not a thank you. I need a new one or probably just continue to do my own.

Want to add, all I need to know has been gleaned from these boards!!! Yeah Cruise Critic!

  17. It's not just the price difference it's the matter of losing the balcony, too which is my refuge.

So it'd be 2 cruises in a Balcony or ONE in a YC Inside. There is a choice of YC Inside "regular" or YC Inside "hancicapped" which are both open for booking, but most of the HC space is taken up by the bathroom (which lacks the nice shower in the regular room.)

Seems clear choice....why give up a whole cruise and stay in inside? Of course, easy for me to say when Iam booked in YC. You have to balance all, even with inside you have lots of semi private places (serving you food and drinks all day). Our problem is we are having difficulty finding any cruises in YC within next 3 years. Please do not consider H cabin, its meant for those who need it!
