Then I am going to be the first.

I have been to resorts literally all around the world.  I have been in a lot of pools and hot tubs at those resorts.  I have never been to one where people don't have a drink.

I agree that pools and hot tubs are fine for a drink that is not in a glass. The spa however imho is not a place for drinks.

There are a lot of moving pieces here.

The CDC conditional sailing order is due to expire January 15.  Not clear whether this will be extended, but I would not be surprised in the least.  If the order is extended then executed port agreements are a necessary precondition to resumption of sailing.  I have no doubt that ports are working with cruise lines on these--but a decision to execute them will be a political decision at the state level.

Existing cruises (including my own on Koningsdam on January 15) will likely turn into cruises-to-nowhere with some Mexican calls in the event that Hawai'i is not yet prepared for resumption.

I think they will cancel the cruise if Hawaii is not ready to welcome us. I can't imagine people will be happy with a cruise to nowhere for 18 days.

That is not true.  I am mid 40s, have no compromising conditions, and I am getting my booster on Nov 9. My only requirement was that my second Phizer shot was at least 6 months ago.

Today, CDC Director Rochelle P. Walensky, M.D., M.P.H., endorsed the CDC Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices’ (ACIP) recommendation for a booster shot of COVID-19 vaccines in certain populations. The Food and Drug Administration’s (FDA) authorizationexternal icon and CDC’s recommendation for use are important steps forward as we work to stay ahead of the virus and keep Americans safe.

For individuals who received a Pfizer-BioNTech or Moderna COVID-19 vaccine, the following groups are eligible for a booster shot at 6 months or more after their initial series:

Covid is a moving target that still has a way to go.   How can anyone make a prediction three months out?

you just said it....Covid has a way to go.  they should continue as is and let people know so that they can make a decision before they give thousands of $$$ for a cruise that they might not take. Many people booked their upcoming cruises BEFORE covid

I guess I'm weird. One of the things I enjoy most about cruising is getting away from things. The first thing I do when getting to my cabin is locking my cell phone in the safe where it remains thoughout the cruise. I tell people not to bother trying to contact me as there are no cell towers out in the ocean.

Then I am weird too! I do the same thing. If my cruise is a B2B I will call home in between. I love being disconnected while on the cruise.

    You're very welcome.

Additionally the Signature Dining Package is 2 nights for all occupants in the cabin and is valued at $50pp.  1 night at Pinnacle Grill and 1 night at Canaletto.  Pre-reservations are not available.  You will have a reservation card in your room on boarding day with auto assigned days/times.  You can go to either venue after boarding and select alternate days/times that work for you.  Changes to Tamarind and Sel de Mer are technically not permitted, but may be allowed if requested.  Often times there is a specialty dining desk set up by the lido pool on embarkation day as well.

My signature dining package says it is only for guests 1, 2. not including my adult daughter who is sharing our room.

it is that same way for the beverage package and hotel svc charges.

It should be a very good choice. Because of its location just aft of the midships bulge, you have an exceptionally spacious balcony. And it's on the portside, which I've always favored. That shouldn't make any difference on the east-west axis both coming and going but it appears that the ship circles the islands in a counterclockwise direction, which gives a decided advantage to the port side. The only drawback I can foresee, and it's a tiny one, is that looking down from your verandah, you'll have a lifeboat blocking your view to the left on the deck right below. Enjoy!

This is all wonderful info and it is very helpful. Thanks so much .
