  1. Here's a bar list of what may/should be available available until you reach the 12 mile mark.
  2. Before your cruise, you can try emailing your request to: rcldining@rccl.com.
  3. It's much cheaper to put on shows where the passengers (karaoke - silent disco) are the attraction. Live music costs the cruise line more money than having just a host or MC.
  4. Who's they? They don't know what they're talking about. It usually takes anywhere from 7-10 days after the cruise to show up in your loyalty account. If the points don't show up, email crownandanchor@rccl.com.
  5. It's highly unlikely. You can always contact Casino Royale and ask them directly.
  6. Yes, lobster is served once on a 7 day sailing on the 6th day, or 2nd formal night.
  7. Mods, please move this post to the Walmart thread.
  8. Yes we received the email and it's legit. The IT department is notorious for dropping the ball on contemporaneous updates.
  9. Fun Fact: The drink/cocktail prices on Carnival Cruise Lines ships have been, and are almost always lower than RCL's. Sometimes, significantly.
  10. Yes and yes. And, you should always tell the server whether you want them to use a drink coupon or the beverage package.
  11. Everyone should go to a shopping seminal at least once. But once you see one, you’ve seen em' mall.
  12. These days, about the only relation 'formal nights' has to with the current dress codes is, they're usually held after dark, so, technically speaking, it's formally night.
  13. The racket is 'dynamic-pricing' and RCL is the only main stream cruise line that uses dynamic pricing for beverage packages. You can thank former American Airlines CEO Robert Crandall for pioneering the development of yield-management (now called dynamic pricing) pricing concepts.
  14. Yes, you can make standing reservations for MTD in the Cruise Planner under the dining option(s), as soon as it becomes active.
  15. They very well might be. They signed a non-binding memorandum of understanding with the Galveston Warves for the potential development and operation of a terminal at piers 16-18. If it happens (which is a distinct possibilty) it's will be a huge game changer for cruises out of Galveston.
  16. You're in luck. RCL will be going to Coco Cay from Galveston starting in Feb. 2023. Although it will be the Radience OTS instead of the Allure.
  17. Yeah, and up until 2014 there were more choices in the packages too. I drink mostly beer, and my wife drinks wine. When RC modified the packages in 2105 they became way less attractive to us. Now, the DBP prices are of little value for those who mostly drink beer and wine. For reference, here's a blast from the past...
  18. Via the cruise line? That's going to be a hard price to beat along a guarantee you'll get on the ship.
  19. That's why we take limos to the games. It cost less $ and we don't have to hassle with DFW traffic.
  20. In my younger days, I put that therory to the test and I wasn't even close to achieving that last 1%.
  21. True, but the local watering hole in NYC doesn't have the bulk purchasing power that RC does.
  22. They will profit off of both of you. But your wife will be even more profitable.
  23. Saying it's a good deal is tantamount to the sunk cost fallacy. The cruise lines have a captive audience and unless someone skirts the alcohol policies, they will have to pay whatever the cruise line charges. So, many will drink copiously just to 'break even'. That doesn't necessarily make it a good deal for the consumer, but it is a effective rationalization for them to justify the cost.
  24. It's not just you. We've bought the DBP in the past, but never paid more than $58.99 a day pre-Covid. Even after the return to sailing, the first two cruises we took, the DBP was never higher than $62.99. In our Cruise Planner for a Jan. cruise, the price has gone as low as $67.99 + grats a day and has gone as high as $77.99. Now it's at $72.99. There's no way are we going to pay over $1200 for a DBP. As long as people are willing to buy at the current prices, they're going to stay high. We'll manage just fine with our daily drink coupons and carry on wine.
  25. Well, my RC landing page is still the same, but in my Cruise Planner, the 'Holiday Sale' has gone live and the deals are almost unbelieveable. Two days ago the DBP was $67.99, and now it's on sale for $72.99. Inflation is so out of hand, I won't even be able to pay attention. That's just my 10 cents.
