  1. Well since the original poster has not had the nerve to make their claims and got everyone else all in an uproar, I think its time for the moderators to take this thread off the list.

    Smitty

    Really?

No, please don't remove it yet.

Some of us have been waiting for an update, and the OP just got off the ship this morning. The OP DID say they would come back after they got home to explain.....let's see.

  2. Still onboard and can't wait to get off this ship. More details to follow once we're home. Worst service ever. Do not waste your money on a suite as there are no real perks as on other RCCI ships. Food is always room temp or cold and not prepared well. Most of the crew are not friendly and do their best to ignore you in the dining areas. Some are actually rude. Shocking experience compared to our last cruise on Voyager in November.

I wish you would at least tell us now, instead of making everyone wait until you get home.

Except to get everyone riled up.

More details would have been nice....

  3. This is NOT a gratuity argument, nor am I trying to skirt the tips.

Where do I find out the listed gratuity guidelines on the RCI site? Anytime I do a search, it talks about the gratuity increase and why.

All I need to know is what the recommended daily gratuity rate is so I can work it into my budget.

We deed to know what the daily amount is for a balcony, and for a JS.

Thanks a bunch for your help. :)

  4. Why can't the worker bees at RCCL help me in answering questions regarding my reservation when I call if I used a travel agent to book? I purchased (supposedly) transfers from Bush Int'l to the port of Galveston from my TA a few weeks back and when I logged onto my cruises, I couldn't see that my transfers were there nor was there anything to print up to bring with me. So, I called RCCL to inquire about them and the guy said he couldn't answer ANY of my questions and that I needed to call my TA. Really? They can't even tell me if it shows that they were purchased? Couldn't even tell me how I would receive confirmation to print up and take with me. Well, my credit card was charged so I know I purchased them but instead of making it easier for me and answering those questions they rudely just said we can't talk to you. Anyone else dealt with this?

    Problem solved.....call your TA.

  5. Hi. I'm a new poster and hope I can hit up you experts for advice. We are going on our first cruise this summer on Disney. It is a 4 day to Nassau and Castaway Cay for my parents' 50th anniversary. I'm very hopeful that I love cruising. On paper it seems like the perfect vacation. My mom has the same high hopes and exciement I do. In my lurking, I got interested in Royal's bigger ships and then came across the 9 night Eastern Caribbean on Oasis of the Seas for next March. All the ports look interesting and the ship looks like a lot of fun. So, we are thinking about booking a couple rooms.

    1. It appears that a 4 year old (DD) would have plenty to enjoy. Yes?

    2. Has anyone stayed in a central park balcony room? They seem lovely even though you don't see the ocean.

    3. With the current promotion (buy one get one 50% off), the price is incredibly reasonable. Would it be nuts to book the cruise even before cruising? Is canceling pretty easy if we decide we hate boats?

When we booked we had a 726 day countdown. Booking early is the best time to book because you can choose the room(s) you want. :)

Also, after you book....if your price goes down, you can call and they will adjust your bill accordingly.

    You will have a blast!

  6. OP's question is answered. She did not ask for opinions on if she should. Not trying to be mean, just think we should stick to the question and mind our own business on her personal choices. :)

I disagree. When posting a question, wouldn't it be a good idea to hear the good or bad stories to make an informed decision on whether to leave them or not?

No one is putting down the OP for the question....just relaying what could happen.

    I would welcome both scenarios.

For me, I would never leave my kids on board, just for the reason of the possibility of missing the ship. Things happen and I would want my kids with me.

  7. Hand sanitizers may not kill noro.....but it takes care of "other" germs.

I wash my hands AND sanitize. I also don't touch the rails and don't use the elevator buttons.

I also taught my kids and granddaughter to wash their hands and use a paper towel on the door knob while exiting a public bathroom.

I also take wipes to wash the tv remote, phone and door knobs.

Wash, sanitize AND try not to touch things!

Better to be safe then sorry.

  8. We have booked cabin 1324 on the Voyager of the seas.It is a Grand Suite and it is on the hump. Has anyone stayed in this cabin before and did they find it a good cabin? As it is near the Centrum did you get much noise from the Centrum and the elevators ? Also has anyone got any photos of the balcony as I read one review that said it had an obstruction. But it is not listed on the RCCL site as an obstructed cabin. Thanks and happy cruising everyone:)

We stayed in 1324 on Explorer....it was great. We've also sailed in hump rooms on Voyager. They have the best views!

The hump rooms are wonderful! Never heard any noise form the elevators. Photo from the balcony of 1324 on Explorer!

  9. QUESTION,

I can see from the deck plans that on deck 12 the jogging track seems to end on both sides next to the new added staterooms. ????

This doesn't seem to make sense...

Surly it must either go up and over the new staterooms or be drastically shortened in length and wrap around the back of the sky bar.

Anyone know the answer? Or any guesses or suggestions?

It's sickening what they are doing to the jogging track. :(

  10. I cannot believe you bothered to dredge up this two month old thread to re-start this debate..................:rolleyes:

    And....why not?

I am interested in the information given, even if it is late.

Why did you bother to even click on the "old" thread and comment on it? That makes you just as bad for even bringing it up to ask the question. If you don't like it, don't read it.

  11. E-cig vapor is not just "water vapor." It contains many chemicals, including high levels of toxic metals, and we don't yet know the effects of that. I do not wish to be exposed to that, and don't think it should be permitted in public spaces.

    Agreed.....well said.

  12. With a bad back and hips... my jogging days are over.. but I do get up early to walk. I see the same problems. Smokers wanting to stand in the way on the jogging track...some people waking v e r y s l o w l y..side by side and being annoyed when you want to pass....Or the really creative ones.. they are moving on the track and then without warning, want to stop and streach...on the track!

Yea, there are a LOT of slow walking people on the track. There is a large proportion of Seniors that have every right to be on the track and cannot walk any faster, but need the exercise.

Get over it joggers....that track is for everyone.
