  1. You're right -- reviews of Millie are all certainly mixed -- some say "best cruise ever" some say "avoid at all costs" but look more closely at any review. What is it that they are objecting to or praising? "The weather was terrible and we couldn't see anything" "the weather was terrific and we had a wonderful time". Now, neither of these is Celebrity's doing. "The food at the buffet was terrible and we couldn't find what we wanted to eat" "the food at the buffet was fine and we always were able to get what we wanted" Now, who would you believe?

Pretend you are at the Olympics -- throw out the high score and the low score. The truth is somewhere in between.

  2. Once upon a time there were a couple of pianos in out of the way places on some ships but no more. And where you do find pianos, you will probably also find that the shipboard entertainers have them set up for their use. So, no, there really aren't pianos available to passengers on a general basis.

  3. They are trusted to enter our staterooms when we are not there. They are trusted with the company's inventory. They are trusted to follow the rules in their off hours. So I guess that's the mechanism in place when it comes to the cash gratuities.

  4. This list is about a year old, but I don't think that there have been any changes to the Elite menu

  5. Here is the dress code. Jeans are not forbidden.

    From the Celebrity Website:

"Smart Casual & Above" attire includes:

Ladies: Skirt or pants (no holes, rips or tears) with a sweater or blouse. Gentlemen: Pants (no holes, rips or tears) with a sports shirt or sweater. Shirts must have sleeves.

    "Formal" attire includes:

Ladies: Cocktail dress, gown, or dressy pantsuit. Gentlemen: Tuxedo, suit, or dinner jacket with slacks.

The dress code in Celebrity’s specialty restaurants, including Blu, is “Smart Casual & Above” for every night of the cruise, regardless of the evening dress code in the main restaurant.

Note that T-shirts, swimsuits, robes, bare feet, tank tops, baseball caps and pool wear are not allowed in the main restaurant or specialty restaurants at any time. Shorts and flip-flops are not allowed in the evening hours. The appropriate dress code will be enforced at all restaurants. Additionally, you are asked to follow the "Smart Casual & Above" dress code in the Celebrity Theater for all evening performances.

The daily program, delivered to your stateroom and available at the Guest Relations Desk, will be your guide to the correct attire each evening.

  6. A quick search pulled up this thread, but it might be out of date by now:

Still, it's a start. It appears that at that time the meals were pre-packaged, frozen.

From the current Celebrity website, 40 days' notice is required, and here is the menu:

  7. There is no room called the Captain's Club lounge; it's not a place.

The breakfast might be held in Tuscan, or Silk Harvest, or elsewhere.

The cocktails might be held in Sky Lounge, or there might be vouchers used.

Wherever the event is, at that moment it's the Captain's Club Lounge. Later it might be the Sky Lounge, or Tuscan, but at the time Captains's Club is using it, it's the Captain's Club Lounge.

  8. 1. Water is by the bottle, not the glass. Soft drinks are by the can.

    2. If you order two drinks too quickly, the system will catch it and you may be denied so be sure to give it a few minutes.

    3. Yes, there are drinks not included. Anything more than the price allowed, on the premium package, you would pay the difference. On the lower priced package you would pay the entire price of the drink, but on the premium you only need to cough up the difference.

  9. The US website shows that this cruise is Barcelona - Rome, 13 nights, August 1, 2015, with the next cruise not until September.

My guess, and it is only a guess, is that the ship has been chartered for the intervening time, and the group chartering it (actually most likely it is two groups doing two separate charters) wanted the cruise to begin in Rome.

  10. It's not unheard of. This year, a Med cruise was removed from the inventory altogether, after passengers had booked it, because the ship was chartered. Something similar may be happening to you. It's not a good thing for those who plan ahead as you did.

What is the date of your cruise? If we know that we can look on the US website.

Have you checked your Roll Call? Other passengers may have more information to share with you.

  11. The cost is the same on all ships.

Only Summit has the new menu.

You can certainly order 3 crepes and a panino and a salad and a dessert, but you would be spending a large amount of money in the medical center later.

    Beverage package applies there.
