  1. Steak is on the anytime dinner menu every night in the MDR. You may also have a steak at the buffet every night, at least on M and S class ships. Not sure about Century's buffet.

  2. In an earlier thread, when the BOA credit card was first announced, poster ghstudio asked:

"Are the "private journey" excursions that are discounted with this card the same as the celebrity excursions you can book on the ship....or are they some other excursions? The term "private journey excursions" seems to have been invented with this card."

As far as my searches tell me, this question was never answered by any other poster. Does anyone have any idea what Private Journeys means? Does anyone know what the discount is?

  3. Yes. It's an old shipboard tradition. Were you in Select Dining?

Usually it is timed so that those in Traditional Dining get their entree, and the salute to the staff takes place before dessert.

If in Select Dining, the timing might be different for you. Have never seen it so dark that you couldn't continue eating, though.

  4. You should see the way the Jimmy Buffet fan club cruises decorate their doors! Lights, palm trees, hula dancers (the blow-up kind), sharks, pirates (life-sized cardboard cut-outs). People who have rooms at the ends of halls expand theirs around the corners. It has to take nearly a whole suitcase just for the decorations.

On Celebrity, it's not unusual to see a small stocking or a little wreath hanging from the number marker, or a sign taped to the door. I've never seen strings of lights or large 3-d decorations on that line.

Lots of people put a little personalization on their door so they can find their rooms more quickly. Maybe more so after the drinks packages came along....:)

  5. "Not sure if it will go back down enough to make up for the $200 of onboard credit. Any advice appreciated!"

No one can know if it will drop enough to make up for the $200, but it might, or as Andy pointed out, it might go up. And the cabin you want might disappear, or Aqua Class might sell out entirely. Then where would you be? If there is a stateroom you want, and the price is ok now, then book now and continue to watch for price drops up until Final Payment, which is a long way off.

  6. If the ship stops at a port whether docked or tendered passengers must pay the port fees. Political feelings make no difference. Whether you leave the ship or not makes no difference. The port fees are assessed to the ship, and passengers pay them as part of their cruise fare.
