  1. Are you aware that in many instances, pinnacles are also restricted from the concierge lounge? So, both pinnacles and D+ are in good company. 😄 m
  2. I suspect that was not the reason. If you had one cruise at the time of the conversion, then you would likely have received 7 Royal Caribbean points. There was no combining of Royal Caribbean and Celebrity points that I am aware of in the 35 years I’ve been cruising both lines. m
  3. We never tried to get into the suite lounge either, because the written information we received from the royalty ambassador or concierge (honestly, I can’t recall who sends that information) let us know that we were restricted. I recall that often the loyalty ambassador is at the Pinnacle event. That is very nice. I understand some other officers come in, but we’re not there often enough to see them. m
  4. Pinnacles were not allowed in the suite lounge on the TA. They used Vortex for a private nightly Pinnacle event. I think there were about 160 Pinnacle’s on the cruise. At all other times or for Concierge assistance, Pinnacle’s were directed to the Diamond lounge. Since that was a private event, I can understand why people were asked to leave. I think however, it will be a little more difficult in the crown lounge. I can imagine some passengers getting quite upset and causing a scene. I suspect if a handful of folks are in the lounge at the beginning of HH, perhaps the Concierge will just let go. Sounds like a mess for both passengers and staff m
  5. I suspect the cost is a consideration and likely talked about in Miami. Many of the ships we’ve been sailing have well over 1000 diamond and up passengers. That would be tens of thousands of passengers per day on ships, getting 4/5/6 drinks per day for no cost to the passenger. Plus, I’ve heard many passengers say that, since they’ve reached diamond status and four drinks per day, they no longer buy the beverage package. (Lost revenue). however, I believe that Royal Caribbean has built this “drinks for everyone“ into some of their current pricing. we are all paying for it in the cruise fare. m
  6. I’m always happy when I see that. We have been asked to show our card when entering various loyalty/suite lounges. Royal simply doing their job. hmmm-perhaps they were only 10 people in the lounge BECAUSE they were checking cards 😄😄 m
  7. No-getting off. Won’t be back till late November. Enjoy m
  8. So you’ve never been inside of the Crown: (Diamond) lounge but you make up some story about what you imagine might take place in the lounge and then you post it here? Good grief. m
  9. Congrats, we were at the top tier and watched your recognition. It was done nicely. The LA is correct. The complementary meal kicks in at 1400 points and every 350 points after that. m
  10. Congrats. What ship/date? I’m sure you’ll enjoy your benefits. They are very much like the upper tier diamond plus benefits you are currently receiving but with an extra daily drink, a few more days of internet, breakfast in a specialty restaurant (or sometimes in a special section of the MDR-like it was during the Jewel transatlantic) and $25 additional off for a balcony and above. And of course, a complimentary seven day Caribbean cruise in a balcony (with a few restrictions) Don’t forget the best benefit, access to the Crown lounge😄.
  11. Please do your homework and provide accurate information. First of all, there are additional diamond plus benefits at the 525 level as well. Pinnacle of course starts at 700. There is no benefit at 1040, however, there is a free cruise (balcony cabin on a Caribbean cruise or a trade in value) at 1050 points. There is a free cruise at every 350 points. There is no specific extra benefit at 1400 points except at that level, every 350 point cruise benefit changes from a balcony cabin to a junior suite. There is no additional level needed. The original gap between diamond plus and Pinnacle was intentional and created to demonstrate extreme loyalty to the company. Regarding your Pinnacle comment, I don’t know how you can make such a nasty sweeping remark about a category of individuals. You’re basing your comment on perhaps something you heard on a social media site, not based on personal experience. Pinnacle bashing is the national pastime of this group. No one wants to admit they would love to be Pinnacle, it’s simply much more fun to bash others. Just to provide some more information to you, Pinnacles are generally not allowed in the suite/concierge lounge. While there may be a Pinnacle event held somewhere in the evening cocktail hours, Pinnacles are specifically assigned to the diamond lounge. They have as much right to be there any D or D+ passenger. Get off your “new diamond level“ pedestal and BE GRACIOUS AND ACCEPTING of all fellow passengers. M
  12. In our recent experience with a crowded Playmakers, food had to be ordered when seated at a table or the bar. You could not order food if you did not have a place to sit and eat it. Those never vacating a table made it quite difficult for others to have a meal there. m
  13. If a pinnacle is selected as one of the top tier pinnacles then YES, those sailing in the same cabin receive the same access as well. Seems like a strange policy, as no other access or benefit, is awarded to any cabin mate for any category. m
  14. I’ll be joining you on this cruise and will look forward to your review. m
  15. That timing likely coincides with when we booked. I hope they can plan something special in one of the current port stops. M
  16. Wasn't aware of a previous itinerary for the Jan 21, 2024 cruise. When did she book it and when did it change? We booked in April 2023 and it is the same itinerary posted in the first post. Anniversary wishes to you daughter. M
  17. The January 21, 2024 sailing has the same itinerary. We booked it in mid April 2023 and it is St. Maarten, San Juan, Coco Cay. If it was a different itinerary before then, I was not aware of it. M
  18. Yes, IF you don’t mind that your luggage gets pulled and sent to security. If you don’t mind that after waiting all afternoon for your luggage, you go to security, waste a hour and have to wait in line for luggage inspection. If you don’t mind that security opens your luggage and looks through it. If you don’t mind, but they take the bottle, and return it to you in the last evening. If you don’t mind if potentially the bottle breaks, and runs all over your clothes. …..Other than that, you’ll be fine. I recall a time when no wine was allowed to be brought on board. I’m thrilled that we are allowed to bring one bottle each. I suspect if there’s lots of abuse, that the wine allowance could discontinued. m
  19. Thx. is it new information? I don’t ever recall guest Internet (at least not on barefoot beach) on Labadee. Also, I don’t ever recall being able to simply leave the compound. To me the information is more of a reminder than a change. Perhaps others have a different experience. m
  20. Within the past year. I'll let them know for next time. Thanks M
  21. Thx. Good to know. Family members missed out as they were unaware of the internet benefit for kids. m
  22. I don’t believe youth benefits include internet. Both you and your wife will receive one day (consecutive 24 hours) each. You can check with the internet desk on board for activation assistance. m
  23. Whole lobster/lobster tails at Hooked are only available for dinner. M
  24. What OCSCMike said! If kids couldn't be where alcohol is served, they would have to shut down the ship. Just about everywhere serves alcohol. OP - Yes - Playmakers is family friendly, There are even some games in there. I recall one playmakers has arcade games as well. Have fun M
