  1. Well the drinking age for cruises out of the US is 21 in spite of it being lower in most other countries. There are hotels that allow 18 year olds to check in themselves but cruise lines don’t. I’m just very surprised with 17 year olds being allowed since the age rules on cruise ships seem stricter than in land.
  2. 10 - 12 year olds can still check themselves out.
  3. I’m confused with it stating under 17 and not under 18, 17 is also a minor.
  4. Is this anywhere in writing? So 16 year olds aren’t allowed to stay on the ship, but 17 year olds are, even though they’re not legal adults. I know walk-in talkies don’t work well at all on ships, but I didn’t know they were prohibited.
  5. But they will still have their luggage if they plan on staying in NJ.
  6. My kids have been taking the bus (and train) into manhattan since they were mid teens. It’s a lot better now than when I was a teen in the 80’s. My daughter used to go a lot by herself when she was 16 (boyfriend at fordham in the Bronx so next a subway).
  7. Secaucus junction is 20 minutes from penn station (my young adult kids transfer to/from Secaucus from Delawanna, entire trip is 30 minutes). Secaucus hotels will usually have bus service into port authority.
  8. CBD is legal in states, THC is not legal in every state.
  9. So you think the punishment for 100 bags of weed (I don’t think that’s even legal in states where pot is legal) to cbd (which is legal in the US)https://www.forbes.com/health/cbd/cbd-legalization-by-state/#:~:text=At the federal level%2C CBD,is not a controlled substance. should be equal? Shouldn’t the punishment fit the crime? Insane. So rum runners get confiscated, but a substance that has no inebriating ingredients gets one arrested?
  10. You can’t see a difference between 100 bags of weed and cbd which does even cause a high? Do you agree that passenger with what is equivalent to a melatonin tablet should’ve been thrown off, arrested and banned?
  11. Some have reported making a 10 day reservation in advance and having it cost less than $45 a day, give it a try. Call a car service and see if it’s going to be more than $200 each way.
  12. I’m also going to suggest RCI, and I’ve never sailed on RCI! Only some of their ships have splash pads for diapered kids (and DCL is the only other line with splash pads for those nit potty trained). Not all RCI ships have them.
  13. Here things are measured more in minutes than miles. I live 10 miles from the Lincoln tunnel, it can take 30 minutes to over an hour to get in. You could stay at the doubletree in Newark, take the train from the airport, and then the path from right by the hotel to manhattan. Jersey city/weehawken hotels are right across the river from manhattan, you can take a path train from there, or a ferry. Cabs do not like going back and forth and if you can find one it will be pricy (they’re not allowed to bring folks from NY back to NJ and vice versa).
  14. I think the broadway diner would work, glad to see some 24/7 diners left, COVID really ruined that! Otherwise, see what dining options are by your gate, check the hours. Your luggage should be fine.
  15. Can you drive or take a train? That sounds like an expensive Uber, for the money I’d prearrange a car service.
  16. I’m curious, since those in the US get the FAS for the gratuities on the ubp, $21 a day, how much do you pay daily if you don’t get charged the gratuities?
  17. The gratuity is based on the price of the package, not each drink.
  18. The UDP comes with soda and mock tails, water is fine from the tap or buffet (or you can purchase it), juice is free in the buffet. When I’ve had the FAS and ordered frozen drinks for my kids (and obviously for them), I wasn’t charged).
  19. I think they all did, I remember Atlantis being $100
  20. I’ve had 12 year olds on NCL, club is 10 - 12, my kids left and never went back. They loved the teen club though!
  21. Pretty much the same, a harbor beach, not as nice as cable or cabbage.
