Maybe it's burn out, but our experiences with Rich were about 10 years ago, maybe longer, two cruises. Guess he's been burned out for a while.

Never pay much attention to cruise directors, but, Alejandro is the best and Rich was the absolute worst.

As I said in my earlier post mine took about six weeks to be resolved. Since resolution on September 19, I have yet to have any recurrances.

This happened to me. Several days after final payment was made, July 27, I got an email balance due notice for $175.97 on August 1. I just paid it that one time. That began a series of balance due emails, for the same amount, every other day for about 6 weeks. That also began a series of AMEX credits for the same amount, six total. I was using a specific Celebrity Vacation Planner. She checked and said it was an IT issue and started working on it. Finally she called me with the resolution on Sept.19. She said I would show a balance due one more time and an immediate credit back to AMEX. That seems to have worked. No balance due emails since and she sent me a current invoice showing no balance due. She said she had heard of this happening before but never with one of her clients. You just need to get who ever is handling your booking to get on it. Hopefully some of what I posted here will be helpful to him/her. She threw in some additional OBC for the hassle.

Anyone disembarked in Tampa recently? Last November shuttles, taxis and hired cars had a rough time getting in to the pickup area. The large busses that were Celebrity airport shuttle blocked a lot of access to where passengers waiting for hired car pick would wait. This was our first time here. It looked a one lane in one lane out situation. Not wide open as Miami and Fort Lauderdale.

How would you rate the ease/difficulty of the stairs up to the Old Town Dubrovnik walls. We've encountered stairs that each step is about 50% taller than stairs encountered here. Are there hand rails?

Yeah, I didn't think about that even though we are on the November repositioning to Tampa. Our experience was last November. I was hoping there might have been some experiences in that window after returning from Europe last year.

We had a difficult experience arriving in Tampa last November. Any recent arrivals have any problem ie: baggage delay, bus/taxi/shuttle pickup, etc.

On choosing air: Flights By Celebrity only displays a few options available and usually not optional nearby airports. Example: If you're flying to a cruise staring in Ravenna, Celebrity will only display flights to Venice. We've always been able to get the scheduling and routing we wanted at the Celebrity price. We are flying Delta One, one way from Orange County (CA) to Bologna for $2706. Delta wanted $3788. Just have exactly what you want when you call.

I recall that you can't grab a price drop after final payment has been made, but you can get OBC in the amount of the difference. Is this the case?

Just keep checking periodically. Our cabin class on an upcoming cruise was listed sold out. About two weeks later a couple of cabins in our category showed up as available and at a lower price. Called our CVP and she repriced ours. Saved $350. This was all before final payment was due. Our final payment is due in about 4 weeks so I'm still checking.

When we upgraded to Premium Beverage package while logged into cruise planner it didn't reflect the Elite Plus 15% discount. I had to call our cruise planner to rebook with the discount. Trying to book spa and I don't see how to apply the discount here either. Is this always the case?

If you've learned your songs from the radio or your personal music collection, trying to do Karaoke with the onboard party band is a bit tricky. I love to do Karaoke, but won't ever do it with the party band again.

We usually do 14+ night trans Atlantics often with a shorter 7-10 day ahead of it. That makes usually a total of five "chic" nights. I still pack a tuxedo and two or three sport coats and ties. I'm in shorts and flip flops almost year round and like the occasional old school dress up. Last November there were still some tuxes on our TA. I think it's a European/British thing. Either way he won't feel out of place and still better dressed than the backward baseball hatters.
