Yes, the mid pool has a sliding glass dome, However the aft pool is completely open.

I'm sorry I can't be more help on the theme nights, I'm sure someone else will know 😉

    Thank you 😊

  2. Hello! We will cruise aboard Costa Fascinosa in one week as a last minute deal. We will cruise during the last days of a bigger cruise.

For the ones familiar with Costa Fascinosa could you please confirm if the indoor pool is completely covered?

For the ones right now aboard this cruise, could you please inform what are the theme nights for 1 to 5 of December? ( We have one idea of the Costa theme nights, but travelling with a cabin carry-on we would like to pack apropply but not over pack for theme nights that will not be occur in our small cruise).

    Thank you!

  3. It take us 1:20h by private shuttle from Genoa to Milan on a Sunday. It was not one excursion, it was the end of our cruise and we wanted to spend 3 days i Milan before returning home and we booked one shuttle for it. We could also go by train, but sometimes there are strikes in italy and we chose the shuttle instead because we were 9 adults

This was last November and our ship was far from Genoa port, we had to go by shuttle from the ship to the cruise port; we were there again (in Genoa)one week ago and our ship was near the port this time.

Where is that from? Because the RCL website

    https://www.royalcaribbean.com/the-healthy-sail-center/getting-ready-to-cruise

    says:

    • Vaccinated guests who are up to date must show a negative result for a PCR or antigen test taken no more than 2 days before boarding day. Vaccinated guests who are not up to date will have a 1 day window to take this test. Kids age 5 to 11 who have been vaccinated may present proof of full vaccination and follow the testing protocols for vaccinated guests.

The protocol for May 6th on WOTS it's diferent from the protocol for may 8th (We will board may 8th)

  5. We did "almost" back to back cruises...One time we did two cruises in a row, different ships, itinerary and company (arrived to Miami and changed to other ship the same day).Other time we  did one cruise, then we stayed in Genoa for 3 days and did another cruise with diferent itinerary that returned us home (it was cheaper to do the cruise to return home than return by plane 😄 )

  6. I was checking the antigen tests in Barcelona and we found it from 25€ to 35€ in several places. I sent one e-mail to our hotel to ask for places to do it and there is one right in front of our hotel 🙂 Waiting to RC confirm the protocols for our sailing (May) but at least we have several plan B in our Google maps 😉

  7. I normally do my homework and fortunately the other cruise companies help me in the process. MSC is the only cruise company that make me check everything 2,3,10 times because they are always changing policies, rules, informations (I board in one week and had 3 check in diferent times until now, the infos at the website regarding to the covid requirements were incorret during days,  just to give 2 examples). Here in Portugal they don't have client support, we call and when we can speak with them, wich is rare,  they don't even listen to us, they automaticaly say "Speak with your travel agent" no matter the subject. The funny thing is that they won the "Best cruise company award" for 4 years in a row here in Portugal! I have no idea how or why 😄 Saying that, because I'm one experient cruiser I would double check all the MSC information, but just because I'm aware that MSC is knowed for the bad costumer service. I guess they checked everything that they could and trusted the infos that they get. 😐

  8. From what I have been reading, MSC is reinforcing the covid coverage check for the ones with other insurance and not that much for the ones with msc insurance. I remember reading this in some foruns, I don't know if it is accurate.

  9. I spent 2 weeks in Malta in the end of september and they asked to see the PLF at the airport. By that time only italy, Slovenia and Malta had a specific page for the PLF ( https://app.euplf.eu/#/) I don't know if it apllies to ship tours. I believe it's only for final destinations.

And don’t forget…to add to your last sentence in bold print you can’t beat MSC’s price, which I believe is the number 1 reason people will put up with the terrible website and frustrating stateside customer service reps.

Our upcoming November Divina 7 night sailing with a Fantastica Balcony with all in WiFi and easyplus drinks is costing the two of us under $2000 including taxes, fees, insurance, 2 specialty dining nights and $200 OBC

For fun I priced out a similar itinerary on NCL for the same week and added 2 of their “5 for free” options.   I added drinks and WiFi and a balcony room with insurance, taxes and fees and $0 OBC and 0 specialty restaurants priced out to $3995 for two.

Now I sit back and ask myself if NCL is worth double what we’re paying on MSC and it’s a big HELL NO

Now if it were Regent Seven Seas or Celebrity my answer would be yes it is worth the extra $$

For the money you can’t beat MSC

Actually it was not our situation in our MSC cruises, we chose based in itinerary only, but I understand your point of view. 🙂

  11. I totally understand your point, when I say that MSC is my least favourite cruise company I explain why. Contrarely to other cruise companies MSC allways messed up with my reservations. I only cruised 3 times with MSC and I have another cruise booked and i had problems with all the cruises (example, they gave me the wrong cabin, they split our group of 6 so we could not dine together or check in together, they messed up with our internet credit so we had no internet during most part of the cruise, internet that we paid, they give no answers to any of my questions- they say that i must contact the travel agency and then the travel agency contact them and they take like 3 or 4 weeks to answer, they booked the wrong excursions and only told us the day before, and other things like that...) I know those are only details but there is a lot considering that I never had this problems with other companies. Other thing that I don't like in MSC is that we only get the basic things. For instance in my last cruises we had several restaurantes where to dine, we don't have to pay more for it,  in MSC we have the buffett and the MDR, everything else is extra. In MSC i also miss the big show productions that we had in other companies, I will pay for the show in my next cruise because I was reading that those are great and similar to what we get in other companies. Saying that, MSC is my least favourite but i still cruising with them, I like the ships and the itineraries, love the theme nights and...never had a bad cruise 🙂

I was under the impression that if you do not cruise within 3 years that your status drops and you can resubmit a new status match? Maybe I read between the lines.  https://emmacruises.com/msc-status-match-2/

Maybe you are right!Things are changing quickly...I was just thinking that the gold status in RC is the same as the lower status in MSC; my parents never cruised MSC and already have the lower status just for the reservation...maybe it is different from country to country. By the way, submited my status match in june...3 months later, several e-mails and phone calls, no answer 😄

We're just RCI Gold so it's not like I'm matching to anything amazing, but every little bit counts and at this point I think I may just be being stubborn and refusing the admit defeat.

If you are RC Gold, you should not send the status match request because you can only get the status match between MSC and other company once and so you will stay at the Gold equivalent level forever, even if you advance to better status in RC. For example, my husband and I are emerald, but my husband is two points away from being  diamond. So I just sent my status match request for me and my husband will wait for the Diamond status to be sent, otherwise when he turn diamond in RC he couldn't  ask again. This is the information I was given 🙂

  14. I'm following Virtuosa's trip right now (I have friends on board who usually cruise with more companies) and things are much better, at least since Lisbon and until yesterday. My friends told me there are no lines, just the regular ones, there are themed nights (not big parties because of Covid, but controlled). There are many more employees and plenty of room for everyone. Everyone wears the mask and it was tested during boarding. I was really worried when I read the dozens of bad reviews, but now I can see that all the complaints are from staycasion cruises, so the context is now quite different.

  15. Hello, we will arrive to Genoa at 9 a.m., november 7th

We are now booking the transfers to Milan and trying to decide the times that we should provide to the shuttle company.

From your experience do you think that is safe to book it for 10:30 a.m.?

When are the last day covid tests? Are they doing it before the desimbark time or during the eve of the desimbark day?

Can we do self desimbark and carry our own luggage as early as possible?

    Thank you 🙂

It is determined by your place of residence not present location. Interestingly, its not on the German website (which is a huge money spinner for them) or indeed the Global website. You could try giving them a change of address to Portugal ...that might upset their applecart. Would love to see what they are offering Brits and Irish to cancel and stay away. Transparency and communication is not their strong point.

I'm portuguese, living in Portugal and will  also leave from Portugal. I'm checking the portuguese website and it remains the same since the begining (Covid certificate for double vacinne or pcr test). The only new thing is that now they will test also during embarkation. But we have nothing regarding to pcr 2 days before, like in the UK website and like in the e-mails.
