In the past I think it was reasonable to expect the first cleaning to be done by lunchtime or 2pm, except maybe on sea days. But if each cabin attendant now has more cabins to do (certainly not double the number, but more) and each cabin now takes longer to make up (because it hasn't been serviced for a full 24 hours), then everyone needs to adjust their expectations accordingly. Someone earlier in this thread said that their attendant went from 15 to 22 cabins.

But if the everyday cleaning takes until 6pm, I'm amazed that they can have all cabins ready on turnaround day earlier than that. Imagine turning around 22 cabins in one morning!

FYI it is double the number of what they had  with 2 attendants   ours in Jan had 55 to do by himself

All the bottles in the minibar are included (and can be swapped out) but the bar is not replenished (unless you are a mega rockstar).

It is also my understanding that Rockstar will get priority boarding, priority booking for restaurants and access to Richards Rooftop. I think (and I hope someone can confirm as I have this question) that this includes a champagne happy hour (not sure on time) every day?

    I

Yes that is all correct  and if you dont drink everything you can take it home with you

Our last cruise on Virgin was in early October. We elected to stay on as late as possible on disembarkation day along with a ton of other people who had the same idea. As such, there were really long lines to get through customs/immigration in Virgin's terminal V (almost an hour wait). I was surprised that in a brand new terminal they didn't have the new facial recognition systems for clearance. Does anyone know if this has changed and they do have them now? I am wondering if we should leave earlier if that would make any difference in the line/processing time. Waiting in line for an hour after a great cruise was a crappy "back to reality" moment thats for sure!

We were on in Oct but left a little after 9 am walked right off  no lines

March is going to be a challenging month for VV.  The good news, the ships are almost full on all sailings, the bad news, the ships are almost full on all sailings and that will expose some stress points for VV.  Don't want people to end up having to eat pizza or breakfast at the diner every night because the restaurants are overwhelmed.  If they can pull this off and maintain the excellent customer service and keep raking in those placeholder on board bookings, then that's a great sign for VV moving forward.

Still  lots of food places in the Galley

So.... I booked in December and didn't know about booking dining 60 days out, etc. because I've just been too busy to read the boards here.  *sigh*  Started to look further into the process, downloaded the app and...... NOTHING.  Reached out to a recommended travel agent to see if I could get some of the perks upgraded from the better deals I've seen offered since I booked (after calling VV directly didn't help) and they said the ship is completely full.

SO, for the Virgin Experienced cruisers amongst us (does that make you non-virgins?) what are my chances at walk-up dining with the entire boat full?  There's literally nothing available in the app to book.

Also, trying to set our agenda through the app and some things I can't add - like you CAN add to shop the duty free shops, but you can't add the "Salty Trivia" right above it.  I'd really like to get a better handle on my trip and pre-plan at least some things.  Any advice or calming influence is greatly appreciated.  😉

did you call virgin to book dining? try that it worked for me

This is normal. I sailing on the Escape to Bermuda in October. Norfolk was dropped a few weeks ago and port taxes stayed the same

They always used to credit it back to the account . They DO OWE a refund but now you have to go to the service desk and request it then it is put into your account as a non refundable  OBC  meaning you have to spend it or lose it  just another way NCL is shadily keeping your money.

  8. We were in a suite in Oct we heard nothing from either side or outside the door we never saw or heard anyone on balcony either  I heard when the ships were built they soundproofed and installed anti vibration  which is what I wish NCL had done on the Encore that I just got off

  9. Just got off. Bad vibration on days 2-6 noisy at night  banging and clunking  not sure why , We have stayed on this deck on the other ships  and it has always been fine  . Maybe a problem with the props or engine looked like only port was running at full speed. Book the only show  now on the ship after the cuts as soon as you get on  it sold out fast   We had 2 hour delay waiting for cabins to be ready, more cuts. Cagney's took an hour to get our appetizers, we went at 5:30  Then  the Medium well steak came out as a PERFECT RARE We were not pleased Almost missed the show at 7:30  All the other Pay  Places were great, and fast.  Good luck Hope your cruise turns out better then ours.

    According to Crew Centre:

Norwegian Cruise Line will reduce cleaning services in guest staterooms aboard all of its ships in 2023. According to a letter sent to crew, the company will adjust the current daily stateroom (turn-down) service provided to guests in all categories below a Suite level. Guests staying in Studio, Inside, Oceanview, Balcony, and Club Balcony Suite will receive once-daily stateroom service. The letter goes on to explain that all other suite and Haven categories will continue to receive twice-daily stateroom service.

The first ship to implement the new policy will be Norwegian Epic, starting January 8, 2023. The new company policy will be rolled out to the entire fleet in the following three-month period, expected to be completed with the Norwegian Pearl on March 31, 2023.

According to NCL the reduction in daily housekeeping service will have a positive impact on the company’s “commitment to environmental sustainability”, and aligns with current “standard practices in the cruise and hotel industries by conservation of water, energy and reducing the use of chemicals.”

“Over the last two-plus years., the collective hospitality industry has evolved tremendously. From airlines, hotels and cruise lines, a new travel environment has emerged with renewed preferences in all aspects of the guest's travel experience Environmental sustainability is on stage more than ever and will continue to play a crucial role in all business practices now and into the future,” the letter reads in parts.

Shocking if true! The future is bleak - what will they take next?

    They are canceling shows

Yes, unless you’re ordering premium coffee. So a $3 espresso waives the $5 fee!

And no charge if your in a suite also this yar if your sailing you get a $10 coffee allowance if your a sea rover

My NCL has updated, but I can't book it as a 'new' cruise for either the original April date or the new May date.

I don't believe the sailing is full - unless the charter group are also going to to be on the 11 night sailing, in which case I'm cancelling.

I am thinking that is the case  it was only 1/2 full last week

I'm worried it will be fully cancelled so I can just hope the website updates soon showing it back on the market to book

Yes same here  I just got a letter to upgrade 3 days before it was changed to an 11 day    I was also looking and at that time in was about 1/2 full  far from sold out  not sure what they are doing  . I hope they didn't parasitically charter this   I called my PCC and she is checking on that  I was told by a NCL rep it was chartered then told it wasn't.

Hi, all! After years of sailing with NCL, I’m considering jumping ship. Spent a little time looking at VV last night, and I’m a little overwhelmed. Let me get this straight, VV offers:

    *Kid free sailing

    *No added daily service charge

    *No up charge dining

    *Free sparkling water and soda

    *Free WiFi

*at prices equal or less than I’m paying now

Where's the downside? What are the cons? This looks too good to be true.

26+NCL cruises  jumped ship going in Oct I see no downside even matched my tier status from NCL  Have a great time we are in a suite aft  paid less then a reg balacony on Prima
