I’ve never been on a a cruise before and I think I’m virgins demographic (35 couple no kids disposable income etc) currently on board for the NYE sailing and I’m thoroughly miserable about it. I would strongly urge anybody thinking about booking VV not to bother. It’s been absolutely awful so far. We arrived at the port yesterday at 1:45 and didn’t get on board the ship until after 5pm. We stood in hours and hours of lines, no communication, outside in the heat at some points, no water offered, nowhere to sit, total shambles, no apology at the end for the hours and hours we’d just stood waiting with no idea of how long we had left to wait. By the time we got on board we’d missed the safety briefings so I’ve got no idea where to go/ what to do in the case of an emergency. We missed dinner because we were so exhausted but even if we hadn’t been I wouldn’t have been able to find my reservation because the app isn’t working. For the 3 minutes it worked last night I was able to see every single show on every single night had already been booked so for the next couple of nights it looks like we’ll have no option. The app still isn’t working this morning but I’m so disengaged with this whole experience by this point that I can’t even be bothered going down to sailor services to see if they could fix it. My friend has been charged $250 to their credit card- no idea what this is for because we can’t check the app.

Overall, awful service to the point that I’d never book another cruise with this company or any other.

250 is a hold for any purcheses all cruise lines do it   read the contract

    7 day cruises?  Not.

    Caribbean cruises?  Not.

    Current pricing?  Not.

Sticking with the other lines, even though the edginess of VV is appealing.

7 day cruises?  Not. but 6 and 8 day

    Caribbean cruises?  yes

Current pricing?  suites  for the price of most aft balaconys on ncl

Ever since we joined the early sign-up queue, I've been popping over, checking to see if there is any more 'news', since ship-tease -- sadly, nothing. I'm also checking the VV website, regularly. But, since neither DH nor I do FB, we don't have access to that info. So, if anyone sees any new press releases -- or even any well founded rumors ;), please post them here. Thanks! 🆒

Term V will be unveiled on Feb 13

We decide for ourselves, I am not a fan of travel agents. They always seem to have an agenda .   If I followed their advice  I wouldn't have gone on 25 great cruises with NCL.

Here are some photos of when it was parked near us at Costa Maya. I was really excited to try this line (possibly even as my next cruise) until we ran into a travel agent (who was on the virgin ship) and shared some of her opinions of it. It gave me some hesitation in my rush to book.

but it is a gorgeous and interesting looking vessel. It looked like a silver bullet or floating Hindenburg coming into dock.  I watched it for 30 mins from an upper deck.

I saw a review of it on Emma Cruises and there are no drawers in the staterooms. No drawers! It seems edgier than other cruise lines. For example their ice cream parlor is named: "Lick me till...Ice Cream."

If she opened the closet she would have seen the drawers lol also storage bins under bed like NCL solo cabins

  8. Hello .Well after 27 cruises on NCL  i jumped ship to try Virgin. The Reason  Suite  for the price of a cabin on NCL No TIPS they pay their staff salaries. No kids  and the aft suit with the bed looking out the doors. Im booked oct 2022 so time will tell  .I wont give up on NCL but  Virgin Voyages may turn out to be my 1st choice. The layout seems perfect for cruising at this time with covid still around   I cannot wait.  Rick

  9. That really stinks and once again, NCL doesn't have correct info on what happened. I saw it posted on the regular site as did some of the others who posted when it first came out. It wasn't there long, but it was there.

It was there for 2015 cruises on web site just 3 days ago almost booked till I saw this:eek:

  10. I just called and redeemed my World Points for $250 of on board credit for my upcoming cruise. What I was wondering is if when others have done this, does it show up on your NCL vacation summary or do you have to wait to get on board the ship to see it? Also has anybody ever had issues getting it when the got onboard? thanks for the replies!

If your pcc emails you with update it shows on that doc as world points obc. I have had no problems with this ,I have a great PCC:D

  11. I have never stayed in a hotel that had upwards of 5000 people with 1500 being minors have you? I think village or town is probably a more correct comparison as to the amount of people. So if you are liking it to a hotel would you prefer to have it fenced in and a key card used for accessibility like hotels have?

    No but

I also never left my kids unattended either

  12. Many folks refer to a cruiseship as a town. I have never visited or lived in a town that has anything bigger than a wading pool that has not been supervised by lifeguards. I don't see a difference here between a cruiseship pool and a community pool. Enlighten me please.

    It's more like a hotel/resort on water.

  13. Why do cruise ships not have lifeguards at the adult or children's pool? Wouldn't this be a liability issue?

Its not just cruise ships hotels and resorts do not have them either. And I believe it is due to the liability issue.
