Oh for heaven's sake! Why are people who cruise (or who comment on Cruise Critic) so concerned about how others dress? As long as they're clean I couldn't care less what they wear, it's their business. Many 'pajama pants' are nicer than sweats anyway.
But I've got to say, I can't resist it when I see these posts! ;)
One word = etiquette

Thanks but their website says that due to restrictions all fares must originate from the FL area, whereas were coming from. Miami.
Now it is has changed ,I believe. You can get picked up at the port and dropped off at FLL airport, but no stops in Miami and only for cruise pax.

I seem to remember that.. RCCL seems to edge out NCL in the PR department from time to time
maybe but did rccl give Sandy people refund on their cruises? Think not?!Otherwise it would have been all over the news also
-
We are considering giving NCL another chance after an "Epic" disaster on the last cruise. Looking at a Getaway cruise next fall and trying to figure out which deck Aft balcony cabins would be the best choice.
Right now we have Cabin #13904 on hold, but the rest of them on Deck 13 are available as are a few on Deck 12 and below.
Any advice, experience would be greatly appreciated. Thanks -
Deck 9 has the largest bal then 12

Beautiful photo! thanks.

Don't know what the seas are like, however Central Florida has been quite windy today. Feels like March. :)
So sorry GSC was cancelled. I would perfer that to Nassau any day.
We live 58 mi directly west of GSK in Fl high winds and surf and coastal flooding:(

Star Cruises only owns half of NCL, the other half is owned by Apollo Management. All NCL stock is held by private parties, you can't buy NCL stock on any market. Rumors are that after a few years, Apollo Management and Star Cruises will offer an IPO for NCL. If and when that happens you'll be able to buy stock in NCL.
And buy for investment not for perks.
-
FYI. If you were foolish like us and rushed out and purchased the 100 shares of NCL stock when it became available, thinking you would have the same benefits as the other cruise lines have, forget it!
While the other two cruise lines have been reliable and great about granting the OBC, according to NCL you have to use a non-discounted rate to qualify for their OBC. Let's be honest now...how many people pay full prices for their cruises? Thanks to all of the wonderful cruise discounters no one.
NCL stock? Not worth it.
I got obc and a disc rate plus another 100 dollar obc ? don't know how they figure it because I could not use on the getaway but I bought it as invest anyway 15.66% gain It is worth it
-
Does anyone know if there are any perks such as OBC for owning NCL stock, like Carnival does?
Yes they do I just Got $100.OBC you have to send in the info proof of shares and res. # Its not combinable with some OBC but is with others

We went back to the ship for lunch at the buffet and then I tried the ropes course. A bit too much for someone with acrophobia. I also did the Bungee Jump but they make you remove your glasses so I could not see much. The harness was hurting my thighs so I did not last long but it was fun. Bill relaxed in the hot tubs again while I showered and changed. We ate wings at O’Sheehans and they were good but messy. I ended up writing a note to the FB Director requesting that they provide wet wipes with the wings. I left the table to go wash my hands but how many people do? They lick their fingers and then go from there. As a germ phobic Medical Technologist it gives me the willies. Back at the room Dan the Man called to discuss some concerns I had expressed about Bingo and it was totally unexpected and very nice of him. He even offered to meet with me somewhere but I did not want to impose on his busy schedule for such a minor issue. This is what impresses me so much with Norwegian. Sean nicely dealing with a late call about a toilet and Dan calling to discuss an issue. They take the time to address everything and try to improve processes constantly.
We saw Burn the Floor which we both enjoyed but ended up missing the crepe station. Norwegians want their crepes 24 hrs a day! We went to Spice H2O for the White Hot & Glow Party. You can wear white but neon is really fun. Regular bright yellow like we were wearing does not work. The first 150 people got glow sticks. I noticed the crew worked really hard to get people on the dance floor :)
We must have really affected Sean with our toilet issue because midweek Hugo took over as HD
LOL Sean is heading to the GETAWAY.

Larry and I have had our NCL BofA mastercards since 2005. Every so often we each get a letter offering 5 x points for three different categories. We did receive the above mentioned offer and did call to activate the offer code.
we just got back from the sky and got 5x points for our on board charges also
-
Are the only extra charges on the ship for the 3 restaurants? Do they charge any extra fees for the wings at longboards or any other snacks/foods?
sports bar food free

It seems your issue is with other parties than NCL? You booked a group tour and another with a TA, depending on how they entered the info, that would account for you getting new numbers.
Not true! I only book with ncl and this has happened 5 times in the past 7 years and long after I have booked, and three times I lost half of my points Do not know why and when asked NCL doesn't seem to know either its a pain

Yes, the forward cabins on deck 14 are all sold as B9s. Did a mock booking on NCL and on the first 14 cabins on each port and starboard are the Spa balconies B9. But clearly the first 5 on each side do not have a real balcony as seen on many of these external pictures from Marine Traffic:
http://www.marinetraffic.com/ais/showallphotos.aspx?imo=9606912#top_photo
Click on a thumbnail photo and it will open in its own window. Then click on the photo again and it will enlarge the picture to show clearer detail.
If you look closely at the deck plans you will see that the b9s start further down from the bridge and that those pictured from the bridge wing with about a foot of bal. are captains and crew quarters

I heard they were 32 square feet.
Seems average for most ships 32-34,they seem wider than most but not very deep .
-
gambee reposted them above, the aft balcony and the aft-HC balcony.
Thanks
-
Here is a picture of the regular aft-facing balconies, lots and lots of room:
where are the pics?
-
regular balcony:
Looks about the same size as the reg bal on the Sun and Sky
-
The room I book has a lot to do with the balcony size. I can't believe in the video of the Haven Penthouse that the balcony is so small. I would be really upset if i booked that penthouse and was unaware of the balcony size.. :(
kinda hard to "fix them" when the ship is almost built! The getaway is almost put together now
-
That is my aft of choice. I liked there's rooms above and below you and it looked a bit bigger. But who knows. I have a friend on the 2 day travel agent sailing in NY so I hope she can sneak in there and take pics for me :)
we chose 9320 bigger balcony and bed by the balcony

I just read NCL's earnings press release and it mentions the delivery of a Breakaway Plus class ship in the 4th quarter of 2015, with an option for a second ship. Does anyone know what this ship will be like? Will it be larger than the Breakaway class ships? Smaller? I try and hop on CC daily and don't recall ever seeing the Breakaway Class ships mentioned before. Does anyone know what this is?
