  1. Sorry, I thought it said 2015 on your signature. If you are OK in the inside, then I'd wait longer. It would not be worth over $700 for the upgrade to me.

Do you think the price will go lower? The 82 does not include D1. It is close to 100 balcony still available. I would love a balcony but I am ok inside. Is that a large number left with 5 weeks to go?

  2. I am on Oasis in June for 828.00 per person, inside cabin. I can upgrade to a balcony for 371.00 per person. It looks like there are 82 balcony cabins left on Royal's sight. I am not sure if they list all balcony that are left, maybe there is more then 82? What should I do, buy now or wait it out a little longer.

  3. There's also vodka and diet sprite. My DH was diagnosed last year although he's really pre-diabetic now due to weight loss and his regular exercise routine. He has one drink a day, usually a screwdriver. As you know, what you really need to do is count carbs and trade off/replace with fiber so there's really nothing you can't have as long as you monitor. There are several threads on here about meals, etc onboard.

Something else I've heard is even though they have sugar free desserts, they still have a lot of carbs.

I am type 2, I know all the does and don'ts about type 2. If your on Metformin you should not be drinking alcohol at all. Screwdriver is one of the worst drinks you could have. Orange and pineapple juice should not be in your diet. That being said I know all the rules but for one week a year I go a little crazy and break most of them when I am on a cruise. Everyone has to control type two in their own way. Sometimes you have to say screw it and live your life. When the week is over I go back to my type 2 diet. This may not be good but it is the way I live life.

  4. This is just a guess, but it seems to me it would have to be a very special reason for them to let people on and off the ship at will. I would think it would be a security nightmare if they would let people on and off. What if everyone had a good reason to go back to there vehicle? All sporting and concert events would not even allow you to leave the venue. Like I said just a guess.

  5. I either save money and go inside or pay a little more for a balcony. I love the balcony but I would only get one if its just 200.00$ more per person then an inside. My next cruise I am inside for 828.00$ per person. If I want a balcony it would be 586.00$ more per person. That is to way much of difference for me. I will save the money and go on an additional vacation. I do not value a cabin with a window at all. My point of view is all dollars, cents and value.

  6. I even disagree with that. I think you should be aware of how cabins get priced. It may hurt you this time, but next time you can be a little more strategic in your booking/planning.

And if there are 2 cabins left, and the price drops $500 pp, I would not be bothered because there are only 2 cabins left. If there were 25 cabins left and the price went down that much, I would feel that I did not plan well.

People who book and don't look are fine but I like to feel that I have managed my reservation enough to get a good price, although not necessarily the lowest price.

This is the reason why you should always look for decreases in price, even if you can't do anything about it. You gain knowledge, for future reference.

  7. I am sure that all the people here that call it stealing, has never did anything wrong. That being said, the stealing of a few drinks is all figured in the price. If stealing gets more widespread then the price will go up. People are spending 60$ a day and not coming close to that in drinking. Keep in mind the cost of a beer is 80 cents or less.

  8. We just did the 4.5 hour tour with Adrian at Eagle Rider Cozumel. It was a fantastic experience!!! He takes you around the entire island, stopping to view Mayan sites (minor ones. The largest one isn't safe to ride bikes to), a tequila factory, beaches and a stop for (included) lunch.

Here's the details: Cost $255 is for 1 driver and 1 rider, lunch with soft drink, tour stops, guide, insurance and a 2012/2011 Harley of your choice. Oh, and you get a do rag too! They say they will put a $1000 charge on your credit card as a deposit and return it when you return the bike without damage. In our cases, we all were cruise passengers, so they just took our Sea Pass and returned them upon the end of the tour.

They have a mechanic on site and he will go over the bike with you prior to (he pointed out very minor scratches, acknowledging that they were there prior to us using the bike.)

There was a large notice on our Cruise Compass warning against renting scooters in Cozumel. Trust me, they are NOT talking about Eagle Riders Cozumel. This is a very professional and safe organization. You must have a motorcycle license in order to rent.

Don't hesitate! Go for it. This was the best shore experience we've had and a great value too!

This is the best island to rent bikes on. I did not do the tour, I just rented from him. Great experience, I went to beaches that did not have any people in them. On my return they let me call home (US), free of charge. Very nice people.

  9. Checked a popular non-US site that can't be named

    Currently there are

    C1 30 showing

    C2 10

    B1 11

    B2 29

PS It sure would be nice if RCL could have their web site have the capability of little icons showing the available stateroom locations like other place do!!! Just MHO

Ty, I am still on the fence. My real goal is to hope ocean balconies come down. Can you tell if there is a lot of ocean balconies?

  10. I agree. I have seen many Oasis and Allure sailings discounted on the weekly sales event. Current http://www.creative.rccl.com/Sales/Royal/Multi_Dest/Special_Offers/rci_sales_event.pdf They are not up to late June yet. Check over the prices listed and see if they are similar to what you are being offered now, just to get an idea.

Are there a lot of balconies left? It's a summer sailing so it may be selling well, but you never know. I would be happy with the inside and keep checking and hope to get lucky after final.

How do you check how many balconies are left?

  11. AKA....book either the Oasis or the Allure for my birthday.

    My question is:

What is an "average" price for a mid-November sailing? I just checked the website and it came back with $909-$999 (for an inside). Is this normal or should I wait a bit?

Last year mid Nov. cruises on Allure went down to as low as 629 and Oasis went down as low as 749. The big price drops went in late Aug. The prices that you quoted was about the same this time last year.

  12. I am on Oasis on June 28th. I have a chance to upgrade from an inside to a Central Park Balcony or Boardwalk Balcony. My inside is costing me 828 per person. $206 more per person for Central Park or $230 more per person for Boardwalk. I was hoping to get an Ocean Balcony at some point for $200 more, but that is not possible now. Would you upgrade now? I never stayed in a Central Park Balcony or a Boardwalk Balcony. I usually either stay in an inside or an ocean balcony. I never thought I would like Central park or Boardwalk balcony. Now I am having 2nd thoughts? What do people here Think I should do?

  13. According to my information, your cabin on the 6/28/14 Oasis sailing is probably a N cabin that you booked in October, 2014. Based on available prices currently, that's quite a good price. Based on the price immediately before and after you booked, it was a good price. So good, in fact, I would be concerned that it too is a scam, and you should cancel! Clearly your cabin couldn't have had its price lowered due to a sale, so it must have been a scam, right? Yeah, it was a scam, er sale......

See, if its a scam when they raise prices, then it too should be a scam when they lower them for some nefarious reason.

That cabin's price has changed at least 7 times since you booked, sometimes up, sometimes down. Definitely sounds like a scam to me.

Anyone with any kind of awareness of cabin prices, especially at RCCL, knows that a sale may be too good to be true. Maybe. Sometimes they are, sometimes they aren't. Just all depends. Timing, ship, capacity, empty cabins, the whim of the IT guys/gals.... who knows. Its hardly a scam. They are offering to the public a service at a stated price. If you don't like the price, don't spend the money.

If it were a scam, you'd pay your money and get nothing in return. My bet, people who book will get their cabin and their cruise and have a great vacation.

EVERY vacation I've ever taken, there was likely someone who paid less than I. Was I scammed? I don't think so. There were also probably people who paid more than I did.

Again All that you proved here is that you use the same tracking system that I use. The fact of the matter is that I actually payed $828 because I also received a resident of RI discount. Now since your tracking my cruise, take a survey and ask people who received a 3rd and 4th free if I got scammed. They all saved money but they did not receive anything free.

  14. The June cruise that I booked online last month appears to now be around $400 cheaper when I look online. I have paid the deposit and the balance is due in a few days. Is it possible to call and get them to lower the price? Could I do it online? First time on RCI so I'm not sure how this works. Thank you for any information you can offer.

    Kevin

Call ASAP, it could change back at any time.

  15. That 949 price was way back in October and only lasted two days when it jumped to 1209 for the next two months, then went up and down by $100 or so. And yes, changes are as they always do on a ship that size, they will drop to probably well below the 949.

I save $1800 on the kids sail free. We had to cancel and rebook our Greek Isle trip in October to get it, but it was worth losing the $400 obc to get it.

Pertaining to your cruise, did the 3rd and 4th really cruise for free or did you save $1800? There is a big difference. I don't think your 3rd and 4th cruised free. Correct me if I am wrong. I also think that its great that you saved $1800. Now pertaining to my cruise, I am not sure what your point is other then letting us know that you use the same monitoring system that I use.

  16. Please help me understand how my booking was a scam. We booked a G1 OV cabin on the Vision, sailing 12/13/14 from Tampa. We paid $499 per person for 2 adults, and taxes and fees of $86.77 per person for 4 adults, totalling $1,345.08 for 4 people. Thats about $48 per day per person, excluding gratuities. Our recent sailings on the Oasis and Allure were $135 per person per day. Yeah, not the same level ship, but using it as a comparison.

Today, that same cabin is available for $579 per person, less a $100 promo.

So, making a blanket statement that it is a scam seems inappropriate and quite unfair.

Did they raise the prices at some point? Maybe and probably. But, this is RCCL. Home of the $100,000 cabin. Come on, they raise and lower prices all the time.

Is it a scam? Don't think so. If you don't like the price, don't book.

OK, this is your example. Now I will give you my examples that I am aware of. My cruise is on 6/28/14 on Oasis. Before the promo I booked a inside for $949 per person. During the promo same cabin $1399 per person. If I booked a 3rd and 4th it was over $3500. I am sure there are people that saved money but if you saved $500 on a $3000 cruise that is not 3rd and 4th free. The fact is all prices went up before the promo and 12:00 midnight on April 1st they started to come down. My post on March 31st indicated that would happen and I am not a genius to figure that out. Stay tuned because the prices will keep coming down for the next few weeks and my cruise will be back to $949.
