Thanks for the info. Looks like I'll be enjoying a chefs dinner in March.🙂

Glad to hear you will get to enjoy dining at the chef's dinner. (Did one myself many years ago-what a great experience!)

When I read your title, about post covid, I thought, how can this be? For me,  we are still in the pandemic.  Others may  feel differently.

If you all have the same offer you all should be able to get the offer.  I booked mine under my name and my husband had the same offer. I contacted Global Casino Services to confirm and they said as long as the 2 offers are the same then we both get it.

I saved the email from them just in case, but when we got on the ship, my husband had everything I had in my offer (free drinks everywhere, $500 in fun ships of which they gave us all cash).

Wow-that's great that they actually gave you cash, as I thought that they stopped doing this awhile back.  (Maybe this depends on the ship/class of ship?). Knowing me,  I'd probably give it back-to the casino😬!

After almost 4 hours on the phone, and at least 5 employees, I got it straightened outMy room was already sold  but was given a bit of upgrade

i was fine with all of my vaxes.   It was totally Carnivals misdoing.

it’s such a shame to be having theses issues

I hope Carnival gets things straightened out without losing good customers.

Glad to hear this all worked out for you. It IS a shame to be having these issues. Enjoy your (slight) upgrade and happy cruising!

Thank you!  Yes it is Carnival, and I figured the Casino perks wouldn't be in place- just want to be sure that they wouldn't charge more if only one of us cruises.  It's been paid in full since mid-December, but you just never know with the current COVID variant!

I would double check on this. My understanding is that if the cruise is booked under a casino offer, the passenger that has the offer must go on the cruise. If not,  the other passenger is not eligible for the offer, even if the cruise is fully paid for.  Maybe check with the  Player's Club? If you do, let us know the outcome. I hope you both get to go on your cruise!

The oceanplayersclub.com email address worked. I received my win/loss statement yesterday by email. The attachment was encrypted, and I had a little trouble opening it.  I kept trying to open it, and finally a screen popped up where I could ask for a one-time access code. I did as instructed, but it kept telling me it was incorrect.  It wasn’t. Of course, after three tries, it locked me out. I tried a different browser and got a new access code, and it worked.  Good luck.

Glad to hear it worked out for you. I don't need one from the cruiselines, as I haven't been on a cruise in over 7 years. Hopefully, that will change this year! (I may need one from my local land casino though).

Our daughter has one of the great offers that have been going around but she isn't positive she can make the cruise we're thinking about.  What would happen if the three of us booked a cabin with her VIFP offer and it turns out at the last minute that she can't go?

I was just reading today, about this in my casino offers. Yes, the person who booked the cruise with their VIFP offer, has to be on the cruise.

Does anyone have a valid email address for Carnival for a Win/Loss Statement?  I’ve tried several times to send a request to the one that I found online (www.carnivalplayersclub.com/contact), but my server keeps rejecting it as an invalid address. TIA

I found this for you:oceanplayersclub.com/contact/win-loss-report .I hope this helps.

  8. It's hard to say, but I hope you do.You are far enough north, and the time of year is right, but the sightings are unpredictable (for the most part).   For example, in the mid 80's I worked at Denali for 3 seasons. I only saw the lights a few times. (The tourists/visitors would often ask  the staff at the front desk at the lodge, what time the northern lights would come on-as  if there  was an on and off switch!) Happy  cruising!

I'm glad to know they (only) were black bears, as grizzlies can be quite aggressive.

  10. Travelingman-just  out of curiousity were the bears you  saw, black bears, or  brown/ grizzly bears? Either way,  I would have been scared of a bear looking in the window at me.

I think that catagory is a real bargain. Oceanview room at an interior price. Easy access to the front deck.

I had one of these cabins several years ago and liked it. Even though it was forward, I didn't notice any extra movement. (I think the Bonine and ginger I take for motion sickness helps!)  I have a 6J booked on the Freedom for Sept.-it's a scenic O.V. I got with a great casino promo. It's not a H.A. cabin, but it is a connecting cabin,  which is somewhat of a concern. Enjoy your cabin and cruise!

I would book the cruise. March is a lifetime away in covid terms. In South Africa, which was the first hit by omicron, cases are already falling as fast as they went up and restrictions are being lifted.

"March is a lifetime away",  even in covid terms. Just playing the devil's advocate here:in Sept. of 2020, I booked a cruise on  the Panorama for Dec. 31, 2021...thinking the pandemic would be over. Wrong! So, this past Sept., I moved the cruise forward to  August of 2022. I think we are moving forward, trying to be positive. IMO, just book, and hope for  the best, and Happy cruising!

  13. Tipping is always a personal choice.. What works for me is giving the bartender/runner a ca$h gratuity on a comped drink, or even for Cheers. I see it as paying something for the service provided,  and not  the drink.. (Same as I would do in the Steakhouse). I think those of us, who have worked, as a bartender/waiter/busser  might have a better  appreciation/understanding of tipping.
