Well I'm probably going for this one, therefore would you be able to let me know the relevant pages to copy ? (of course as well as the general certificate of insurance) .many thanks in advance.

Yes it's pages 5-7 which is the schedule of benefits  of the policy wording document  .

  2. Its seems to me that, passengers in the past, may have travelled without insurance, on UK cruises, thinking they don't need it because they are in the UK and they are still under the NHS. So this is why the cruise lines are making people think before they travel uninsured, in the UK, and on the water.

Also, they were pretty hot about stating the need to have  covid cover on the policy, which some policies may need looking at and amending/adding on .

It is surprising that people forget to check insurance, but it happens. I saw my neighbours on TV, where the kids had been really ill, in the Dominican Republic. First time they'd gone further afield than Spain. Unfortunately, the policy was for Europe only . Ooops 😞

See Cover for you is with AXA Travel Insurance,  I just asked same question and they said yes  subject to their usual get out clause, of t&c 😁 However I have AXA and as far as I can see as long as you have minimum 2 nights booked then your covered.

Yes thats right . the T's and C's are the usual, what you'd expect eg; treatment that can be left until you are home, tavelling against medical advice, catching a tropical diseasee and not vaccinated, and so on, etc etc .

Cover for you. I've probably got on their nerves, asking questions, stating exactly, what I'm doing, where I'm going , or not going in this case.

In fact, they've been really helpful, in explaining which pages, the staff at the terminal will want to see, and take the cover letter...though I'm taking the whole wording policy.

Southampton terminal staff are going to have to go through a lot of training for this ....or will they ?

Is that if it is a UK waters only cruise?

If so who is it with?

Spoke with both Staysure and All(not even slightly)Clear - then called International Travel and Healthcare the company we use for our offshore corporate coverage (did not mention our existing policies as I wanted a quote as a single cruise passenger)  - below is the coverage and the cost is £81.50 for 5 days coverage - have to travel down to Southampton day prior from way up here so that is covered as well .   Below are the important bits although there are lots more coverages

This is for their Area 1 cover -  which is UK and most of Europe - that covers me in case the ship slips into Irish or other waters apparently thats the problem with these cruises, because they dont go to clearly defined locations, the underwriters cannot properly assess their risk as each possible location will have its own complexities and costs associated with someone needing medical support etc.    "nowhere" isnt on any map in their underwriters knowledge

    "UNITED KINGDOM TRAVEL

Any journey within your home location must involve at least 2 nights’ pre-booked paid accommodation or involve a pre-booked  flight and must be more than 80km from your home."

So yes expensive but good coverage = apparently they are the go to company for the cruises around the Scottish islands etc.

    ,

Thank you for contacting AllClear Travel Insurance.

If your Cruise is within UK waters and the NHS/EHIC will not cover any medical expenses due to being airlifted/repatriated then we will take over and provide cover for this.

    Kind regards,

    Customer Care

This is the response I got from All Clear.....clear as mud!

I had same from my provider .

  8. I had this email just now from Cover for you .

Kindly note that your policy covers - subject to the policy terms and conditions - up to £15,000,000.00 per person for emergency medical claims inclusive Covid-19, including ambulance and, medical repatriation if required and approved by our Emergency Medical Team.  For cruises within the UK the medical cost would be covered- subject to the policy terms and conditions - if you cannot claim from the NHS, as you are permanent residents of the UK.

  9. Hi

Well it really is very easy, but it depends on which company you use.

P&O recommend CPS. you'll see a link in your booking, and maybe you have a free parking option with your cruise. either way this is the simplest option.

It is a great service. so. If you do book with them. In your confirmation email, will be an attachment, with a sign to put in the front windscreen, usually it will say AZU, eg for Azura, and so on, and full details of their phone number should you have a problem.

As for arrival time, be guided by the terminal and time that P&O will give you, and follow directions, in whatever way you like to use, eg sat-nav, to the terminal. you will be nice and close , so you will have plenty of time to get there.

As you get to the dock gate for your terminal, there will be CPS signs to guide you right to the ship. there will be staff there too, pointing the way for you. Stop and ask if you want to.

Literally, you will be guided to join the queue ( usually not long)  right by the ship! There will be CPS staff waiting, they will call you forward, and you will stop and turn off your car engine. The really nice member of staff will look over your car etc, and take your booking details, and give you a receipt, for your key, to keep safely , as you will need that on the day you come home. A porter will come over to you and take the cases you want him to take, and you hold onto what you wish to carry on yourself.

the lovely member of staff will ask if you have got everything out of the car that you will need, and then will wish you a great holiday. you walk away and your car will be driven off to a secure place, for the duration.

Don't worry if you come back to a different terminal, from the one you left from, or even if it is changed last minute due to any technical issues. CPS will know.

On return, when you get off ship and have cases, you walk out and there will be staff who will point you in the direction of a car park just opposite the terminal. You walk over, hand in your receipt to the person in the hut type thing, and you will get your key and told which zone your car is parked in.

Sadly then, you have to drive home .

There are other companies you can park with but this I'd say for you, is the best option.

To be fair, even at £35 it was a bargain. For example, the drinks package on P&O is £39.95 pppn.

It would have been nice if the new price could have been backdated, but I'm certainly not going to worry about it, or let it influence my opinion of Princess.

Agree. I'm happy with the original price that I've paid. Considering they have moved my cancelled June 2021 cruise to equivalent cruise next year at this years price, I am not going to quibble .

Good afternoon, do you know if you can help yourself to Juices/coffees/tea's in the retreat on Ventura, get a massages and if you can order bar drinks from the stewards there in the same way you can on Britainer retreat.

Have used it on the Azura, and is same. There was a massage table set up, so guess if you book you can ask for it in there is you've a pass for the area . They did prefer to pour your water for you, bring towels and blankets . They did take orders for bar drinks .

  12. I've already paid the original price. Its a fair price, and considering they've moved my cancelled cruise this year, over to the equivalent cruise, next year at this years price, I'm ok with that. Good on thise getting it even cheaper , at £30 pppd. It really is a bargain, seeing as tips take up almost half that, to start with.

Princess might be the same  I was just intending to be cautious with my allowance.

    Lol John

The Princess Plus is a good offer not just for drinks, hot, cold, alcoholic etc, but the fact that it includes internet, which is usually very pricey and also the graturities, which all add up. Its a good offer to have available.

They do limit you to fifteen drinks per person per day you know so people don't over do it.

    Regards John

Thanks John, yes I'm aware of that but dont think I could possibly manage 15 drinks of any kind 👍

Do the Members of the Entertainment team, come to the Retreat to make sure you are enjoying yourself or are you left alone to enjoy your book in the quiet.  Is there piped music being played all the time?

Usually quiet, with no visits from the Entertainment staff.

  17. I have only used the Retreat on the Azura. The Britannia, is nicer.

We booked for the entire cruise , at the spa desk on our embarkation day. Yes it is massively discounted for entire cruise. You cannot book pre-cruise, however should you pre-book a Spa Package, then the day of your treatments, includes the Retreat for that day.

As the previous poster stated, it can also be booked day by day, but it is subject to availability, and only on the morning of the day you wish to book.

We did enjoy it, very much. On a sea day, if you book, you wont be searching round for a free sunbed, amongst the crowds. Enjoy 🙂
