She actually moves to the OPT this afternoon on probably the shortest cruise ever. 300 or so “ guests” will board her at White Bay to attend a function and will “sail” to the OPT where they will “ debark” at about 10 pm. Carnival Splendor was at the OPT this morning  so the Wonder will move there  when it leaves at 4 pm.

    Thank You gbenjo 🙂

Discovery Princess heading to Australia in 2025/26

Princess Cruises President John Padgett confirms line’s flagship to sail locally.

Princess Cruises will deploy Discovery Princess out of Sydney in the 2025/26 season, with the cruise line’s chief John Padgett revealing the move this morning during an event on board Royal Princess, which arrived today.

“Australia is very important to Princess, so Australia is getting the best of Princess,” he said.

Princess Senior VP Stuart Allison told Cruise Weekly Discovery Princess would sail alongside Crown Princess locally, while the full deployment details for this season’s ships including Majestic Princess and Royal Princess will be finalised shortly.

Royal Princess‘ arrival this morning marks the start of the line’s biggest ever Australian summer season, with four ships including two Royal-class vessels homeported in Sydney for the first time.

  3. Travel agents are currently jumping up and down on Facebook on this announcement.... I am currently trying to find a Press Release from Princess Cruises....

Here is what a agent has said:

Princess has confirmed the deployment of Discovery Princess to Australia for the 25/26 wave season.

Discovery is the last of the Royal Class ships and debuted in March 2022. She will be the newest Princess ship to seasonally homeport in Australia.

Being a Royal class ship she shares many of the same features as Royal and majestic Princess who are homeporting in Australia this summer.

Bookings are expected to open on Nov 15 2023.

    More soon!

  4. Hello from the Grand Princess,

Today we were in Pago Pago, American Samoa!

It was nice to get there especially as we missed it last year (2022) when we were on the Majestic Princess as cruise ships where still banned from going there then.

Our plan for the day after looking around the local markets was to go to 2 dollar beach. Which is now $5 USDpp to get in!

We thought we would catch the local bus to there, as we have done that before!

But after waiting over an hour for a bus!, a group of us decided to get a taxi.

Two in our group wanted to go to Tess Barefoot Bar, so we decided that would be fine, but when we got there they wanted $130USD for a day pass!!! 😮 and it had to be prebooked!!

So we ended up starting to walk to $2 beach when our taxi driver came along and give us a lift along the road.

Once at 2 dollar beach, we found out they no longer sell any drinks or food! 😮 :(, but was told there was a shop 5 – 10mins along the road that sold drinks etc…

The tide was going out so it was no good for snorkelling   but mum and I had a swim.

I then decided to go for a walk to find the shop, about 5 mins away, which I did!, so ended up buying two Pepsi and two beers for $5 USD.

Then we got the Taxi back and headed to Sadie’s Bar then back to the ship!

    The weather was great! 😊
