Best wishes for a wonderful birthday cruise. What a lovely surprise from your husband. We were on the Ruby in January and were so pleased we came home and immediately booked it for November . The crew, indeed, makes it a special experience, even compared to other Princess ships. One question, which of course I should remember the answer to, were there USB ports on the lamps? Seems like that was added after the refurb but not sure. If I don't have to pack a multiplug gadget I can use that space for more fun stuff. Thanks in advance for you, or a fellow Ruby-lover, answering this question.

Why was my cabin changed “due to operational guidelines”
ljhershey replied to RandS's topic in Princess Cruises
We had a similar situation with a Celebrity cruise, and an email to the President of the company got an immediate response and fix. That was after numerous attempts through normal channels and it was a few days before sailing. In that case, the cabin was needed for a potential Covid isolation section, so we did understand. -
I just called Princess and the rep took my request for 5 pm fixed seating and said it would be in Bottacelli; however, he could not do it and referred the request to the IT people who will fix it in 3-5 business days. My fingers are crossed.

Thank you. I even uninstalled and reinstalled the app. They must be doing a staged rollout of the updated app.

I still can't do this. Which dining room is for same table every night, please. Thanks for posting this encouragement.

Ruby Princess-- awful guest relations crew. Help!

Booking an obstructed view cabin, E632, always risks lifeboat shifting noise, as well as an obstructed view. Additionally crew walk around outside the lifeboats to adjust or fix issues. Unfortunately your concern was likely unfixable. Those are reasons your cabin cost less less to book than a true oceanview. -
I agree with Botticelli. A lot of people can't find it, but it is readily accessible from (only) the rear set of elevators. The 7:30 production shows are often full by 7:15 or earlier, so you want to plan your dinner early if you want to go to the early show. If you get a waiter you prefer, you can request to be seated in their area on the following nights.

Norris, Our upcoming Princess cruise is our first as Elite. Did you find the laundry service dependable? I am hoping to pack "less" if possible. The laundry service on HAL for $49 per cabin per week is fantastic. Get a bag to your room steward by 9 am and next day you will find clean clothes hanging in your closet and clean undies folded nicely in a basket on your bed. We sent out clothes daily. Well worth it for the peace of mind. I did write laundry instructions (like warm wash) on the order sheet. The artwork on HAL is exceptional. If you like to experiment, one lunchtime in MDR, try the "stropfwaffel" (I have stumped the spellchecker on that word). So any other Princess elite tips we should know? I will be swapping the refrigerator contents, likely for pop/soda. Getting afternoon tea worthwhile? Thanks so much for sharing your experience. I will look forward to hearing about your next adventure. Looking forward to my upcoming Orange Souffle!

Yes. I was also thinking about Starbucks Via packs.

Any thoughts on where to get good coffee other than purchasing at the International Cafe. In the past Lido coffee was not very good. How does MDR coffee and room service coffee stack up? Any secret sources on board??

Thanks so much for this thorough explanation. I have What's App loaded on my Android phone and have tried it from home with family over WiFi....successfully.. My question ..on board the ship, how would I message my husband who prefers not to have WiFi. Will he get a notification of the message? Thx very much.
