Do you know if passengers who have Traditional Dining reservations will have their preferences honoured or do they go out the window now with “Dine My Way”

On the dine my way you can set up for traditional which is to reserve a table for the same dining room and on a nightly basis. That's considered your traditional. Everything now has to be dine with my way

I am curious as to what time they are allowing the August 1st or August 8th passengers to board.  it appears our earlier boarding time is scheduled for 11:30 - 11:45 AM.
Because we are on the first sailing out, I am also wondering if they will let us onboard a bit early because there will be no passengers to disembark!

I'm on that August for sailing and that 11:30 11:45 group a Time block is my boarding time.

    Have Dog.....

Did you receive your Mediallion in the mail.

If you did, how many days prior to July 25.

I can't wait to hear "welcome aboard" again!

    Thank you

I leave August 1st and I just got mine today. Normally it can take anywhere between 1 to 3 weeks prior to your sailing to arrive. In my case it was 2 weeks prior.

I received an email from Princess for our upcoming Alaska cruise on 8/15/21 asking for missing information titled Missing Immigration Notice. It stated that they needed missing emergency contact info and trip interruption air city. It says if the information is not provided we can't print our boarding pass (I thought we couldn't print boarding passes anymore) or luggage tags which I have already printed. It says to go into the cruise personalizer  or complete the attached form. An attached form was not provided and this information cannot be put into the personalizer. I have struggled to do everything on the medallion app and have green checks and a QR code. It makes us wonder if Princess has it together. I think not. I hope our cruise goes better than the preparation.

I leave on August 1st I had that emails a few weeks back. And I know I had the emergency information and put it onto the app. I called my travel agent who called Princess directly to find out it wasn't the emergency contact it was where would you like my body sent God forbid something happened to me even an emergency. Of course I put down my home City. Just call your travel agent or princess whomever you booked with they'll help you with it it's a quick one two three fix.

Thanks for the insights, Jeter02! Much appreciated. For ourselves, we always book cabins on a deck that has only cabins above and only cabins below; however, this cabin is for my parents, and I thought deck 15 midship would be a good location for them to access the buffet and the pools one floor up. A bit worried about noise from above though. Catch 22. 😁

You're welcome, and totally understandable! I tend to always book midship on deck 8. One level above all the action , and 3 levels from the piazza. Never had any issues from the noise from below or The Piazza because there is like a double staircase to get up it's really it's not one flight it's two flights from deck 7 to get to where the cabins are on deck 8.

Just booked a cruise for next year after almost two years of not being able to sail 😀. We are on the new Enchanted in an interior, M524, just under the pastry shop section of the buffet, just back of mid ship. Has anyone stayed in a similar Royal class location? Just wondering how noise might be if we’re under one of the buffet kitchens. First hand accounts would be appreciated. Thank you 😊

I know you said you wanted first hand experience but I could tell you from their older ships like the Caribbean Princess I remember years ago on one of my very first feelings I was on the Riviera which was right below the lido deck. We were kind of midship, as we were under the pool deck. I know being under there you can hear all the chair loungers being moved around. So for me I've just never booked anything right underneath that. And you can also hear when I used to care of them do the deck parties which they usually only do once a week on a Caribbean cruise.

I think you'd be okay if it's just foot track thick above you but if you're possibly above where like the dining tables are up on the lido then you might hear things being moved around but yet again that's on carpet whereas chair loungers on the pool deck being on the hard floor so you hear movement on that.

I'm trying to decide whether to book on HAL or Princess for the voyage to Alaska in August.  I found pictures of the Nieuw Amsterdam large inside cabin which looks like it could comfortably accommodate 3 people.  I found information on the Majestic Princess inside cabins that says some can accomodate 3 or 4 people in a cabin but have been unable to find photos or videos that tell me how they accomplish that or what class of Inside cabin I should book to make sure we are comfortable.  Any suggestions?

Normally for an inside cabin if I'm not mistaken that you cannot make a queen size bed so you're going to have two twins and then there is a pullman's bunk which will go above one of the beds below.

OK, schedule to cruise on the Enchanted and noticed that there is no Alfredo's but instead a Gigi's. Same or different? Have always loved Alfredo's and usually the wife and I would eat there for lunch on Embarkation Day. Is Gigi's free like Alfredo's?

    Thanks

Yes Gigi's is new to the fleet and will be premiering on the enchanted princess. It should pretty much be the same thing as Alfredo's it's just a name change. And yes it is free for all guests. Alfredo's is amazing so this should just be as equally delicious.

I am glad to know there are regular contributors here on CC that are on the first voyages as I know we will get reports during or after the voyage.  That's why you have unlimited internet!!!  LOL.  (Enjoy the cruise and tell us about it later).

LOL! Honestly what else is that unlimited internet for if it's not meant to report back?!?! 😂

I assume that you are on an iPhone... ?  I am on Android Galaxy S10e.  The Android app has yet to be updated.  And yes, I have logged out/in and uninstalled/reinstalled MANY times.  I am about to give up on the app working for us.  I'm pretty sure that my database record has some corruption involved.  I cannot even edit any of my personal info such as phone number or nickname!

I'm forever an Android girl. I have a Samsung Galaxy s20. One thing that I could think of, but I don't know if it is a thing or not,... If it's a benefit of being elite that we got to choose our boarding earlier on than others. 🤷‍♀️

Honestly though at this point and close to the cruise you should have been able to do it I've heard and seen on the boards people calling the ocean Medallion team and they've had them no problem select the boarding time as they really focusing on only helping those passengers sailing the first several cruises and I'm worrying about people who got bookings down the road.

Our next Princess cruise--on Majestic Princess, October 30--is now 107 days away.

We've done the check-in on the Medallion App up until #4--"Arrival and Departure Groups"...

Click and it responds with "Sorry...available closer to the start..."

We are leaving the country a week from Sunday for back-to-back Med cruises and don't return until August 15.  We will have unlimited WiFi on the ship but will probably be thinking of all sorts of other things...

So, I am wondering if there is any "standard"  (like with luggage tags where they say 75 days)...

I would like to get in quickly to get an early time slot...but afraid of missing the opportune time.

    Thanks.

I'm going to say it becomes available about 4 weeks possibly six at most prior to your sailing date. I'm on the August 1st sailing and that's what I could vaguely remember from when I signed up for my boarding time.

FYI - Our sailing is in 17 days and we do not have access to the arrival groups...

I'm on the same sailing as you and I was able to pick my arrival group two or three weeks ago. You may want to log out of The Medallion and relog in and that might refresh it for you. It is a bit glitchy the app in general cuz sometimes you can click on things and nothing will happen and if you click on it again and just wait it will eventually load.

I'm so glad to hear that you made it on an early flight taking the transfer!  It seems almost impossible to make it to the airport 2 hours before 10:11am on a transfer, but even and hour and half would be better than one hour.  Like Cruise Raider mentioned I "am unsure if the flights would be guaranteed through EZ air if we took an Uber or taxi."  We definitely don't want to lose that guarantee!!  Of course, I really don't want to sit in the airport for 6 hours either.

EZ air is fabulous but I think they guarantee is more for trying to make the ship in time. Not so much for about returning home unfortunately. I do admit that I only will book flights through easier when cruising because I do live life on the Edge by booking flights day off of a cruise but I always make sure I fly in at a time that's no later with an arrival of the 11:00am in the morning. I'm flying all the way from South Florida so I always make sure I booked those 7:00 a.m. or earlier flights for set of the day is least to have a problem.

At this time, no. SEA Spot Saver is only available to general screening passengers without a trusted traveler program to help provide better screening experience and create efficiency where we have the highest demand. All TSA PreCheck passengers should be screened at TSA Checkpoint 4 in to order still use their PreCheck benefits such as not having to remove their shoes and electronics. All CLEAR customers can go to their dedicated lane at each security checkpoint as well to have their expedited experience. If the pilot program is successful, we hope to include trusted traveler programs in the future!

Looks like TSA is at Checkpoint 4.

Perfection! Watch out TSA PreCheck here I come. 😊

I like the idea of an Uber as well.  Last time in Seattle, there was a flat fee rate from the pier to the airport for something like $40.  Another time, we caught a limo that only charged us the same amount.  Once, we were offered a 2 for 1 on the transfers so grabbed that and one time, we were going to order an Uber and a small shuttle bus offered four of us a ride for $10 each so we went with that.  It always seems like there are plenty of options for transportation.  I don't know what it will be like now that CoVid has gone and ruined everything.  Plus, with soaring gas prices, Uber might be a splurge, whereas it used to be cheaper than the transfers.

But yes, I love the idea of just disembarking and making our way to the airport without a lot of waiting or being loaded into a bus with a ton of other people.

The princess transfer is really are unbeatable it's $29 each way. But I'm not the most patient person when it comes to having to wait for a bus to be filled up or wait for people to all disembark the bus. Like I said it's a little bit more of a hassle I'm one of those especially Cruise day where I just want to get to the point and get right on that ship without having to wait around and waste any time.

  16. Still too early to tell. Some lines are requesting their unvaccinated passengers to take out mandatory covid travel insurance, and to pay for PCR testing throughout the cruise.

I'll be on one of the first sailings out of Fort Lauderdale when they restart in November!

We booked through EZ Air and picked a 10:11 flight.  It wasn't until recently that I realized that is really early.  I spoke to Princess, and she said if they sold it to me, they guarantee that we can make it.

The help that I am asking from those leaving the end of July is for you to let me know when you return what the first disembarkation time was, both walk-off and transfer.  We have a transfer, but I am wondering if we should walk off and get a taxi.  But if we take a taxi, would they honor the EZ Air "Arrival Protection" which says "...you'll...get home if you miss flights because of your cruise or transfer."

Also would like to know how long it took to get through customs/immigration.

Has anyone made a flight that early out of Seattle?  I would change the flight, but we already used AA mileage points to upgrade the flight we have.

I can't help you out much with the first sailing I am on the second one on August 1st if that helps you. I'm not sure when you guys are cruising to help you out with how early they will start doing the disembarkations or how early they get docked at Seattle.

Seattle airport recently has been crazy.  But they have launched Sea Spot Saver which may help to save you some time.

SEA Spot Saver | Port of Seattle

Love this! Thank you so much for sharing the info. I have it saved tonight phones home screen so that way I know to remind myself to do it 72 hours before my flight.

Wonder if the TSA precheck is any quicker than the sea-spot saver or is the pre-check just as bad as the normal lines?

  19. 14 minutes ago, Cruise Raider said:

All great questions.  I was worried about my 11:40 AM flight out of SeaTac, only because we've traveled in and out of Seattle before and those security lines can be crazy long.  But, we also got first class so I am hoping that gets us through the lines faster.  It was actually less expensive that booking on Southwest so, why not?

We are on the first sailing out later this month so will be sure to report back our findings.

PS ... we are planning on purchasing the Princess transfers for the way back to the airport as I, too, am unsure if the flights would be guaranteed through EZ air if we took an Uber or taxi.  These are all questions I will be sure to ask onboard.

I've actually had a flight around that time in the past for my Alaska cruise flying out of SeaTac. I've done it both ways where I've got my own personal Uber and my last visit in 2019 I did the princess transfer. It's fine just take the earliest transfer. To buy yourself some time. I'm in early person that always arrives everywhere much earlier than needed just for precaution.

I'm on this second sailing on August 1st. As lovely as the transfer was especially cost wise I think I've decided I am just going to splurge on the Uber coming and going. Such more convenience without the hassle of being for around others and waiting for your luggage and so on

Is Alfredo's Pizzeria free? Is it open on embarkation day for lunch? Does anyone have a menu that can share? Thanks in advance.

Yes, it's free and delicious. I'm sure I have a picture of the many somewhere I will try to find it and pull it up for you.
