  1. You will have to get on line to get a tender ticket. On our cruise they gave no priority to platinum or Diamond because there was so many of us. I know the line started lining up at 5:30/6:00 i believe tenders started by 8
  2. Ninja - I just read that some people have signed up for this - missing the up and down completely https://www.sandrascruisetours.com/port.php?sid=79&pid=1010 I don;t know anything other that some passengers have booked it and I did see a wooden boat at the dock when we were there.
  3. Thanks Ninja. I’ll write a whole review when I get back. The entire time in Rome prior and the cruise has been great. The early mornings are a killer. We take naps every day. This type of trip is exhausting
  4. Yup both of those shots are to the right and then left down the allys. I was surprised where you get dropped by the busses - you have to climb up pretty far - some were struggling. Sorry. Currently on the ship. Upload is hard. We did have a gorgeous blue sky that day. Perfect for photos
  5. That and pretty much any photo op that’s down an alleyway. Which there are many. Go there first thing. It backs up quickly
  6. When you get to the town square. It’s where everything starts - when you are looking at the water - go right and then go left down the alley ways. You’ll most likely see a line of people lined up. The only problem is that some people are there almost doing photo shoots and are taking a million pics. It gets very annoying.
  7. We had 5 pm sail away but 4:15 last shuttle. At first you only saw a few walking down but by 3pm that stairway was packed with people coming down. A total nightmare
  8. Ninja. We left our passports locked up on the ship and took copies with us. Most times coming back to the ship. They didn’t even ask to see ID only the S&S card prior to getting back to the ship
  9. Ninja. Just did the Oia & Thira yesterday. Going to the old port first was perfect. We got to OIA early and we’re able to get our pics without much trouble. Go right to the dome pics as they back up quickly. We also had time to shop and even had a drink overlooking the caldera we did a bit of shopping when we got back to Thira but we were on the cable car by 1 with only a 20 minute wait. Friends waited an hour at 2 and it got up to 3 hours forcing many to walk down. And yes. We had people miss the ship. the schedule said only 2 ships would be in port and 4 were in port - it was packed there was much more uphill walking than I realized and one woman fell coming back to the busses. We also heard a woman fell on the stairs when they couldn’t wait any longer for the cable car
  10. We are on the 9/19 cruise so in Santorini on 9/24
  11. I think the wine is fine while waiting - this is a text from a friend who was there in May "I’m thinking it took about 2 to 2-1/2 hours to do the cable car down and then the tender. Definitely a downside to Santorini, I mean the line wine helped lol" Luckily we only have the Pride and Enchanted (Princess) in the AM so I'm hoping the afternoon back down is not 2+ hours to get back to the ship
  12. Ninja - did you book the one with the Winery or just Oia and Fira. If you chose with the winery - do you know which one they go to. I was reading on another site that the Santos Winery has fantastic views. Be nice to get there on the excursion.
  13. The problem with vaping is no one knows what the person is vaping. You can easily find online how to DIY THC vape, DIY Vape Juice, etc. Other drugs can be vaped as well. Celebrity sliding down a slippery slope.
  14. Are Choir of Man and the comedy acts bookable prior to boarding? Thanks!
  15. I went back and it looks like I bought during a Black Friday sale. It was 50% off during that sale and the internet/soda combo was 45% off.
  16. I have to say that Coco Beach club is almost kid free and no thumping music. With prices from 100-300 a person, hard pressed to find a family to spend that on a child when other parts of the island are free.
  17. Wow that's a huge jump - I was just there in February.
  18. We enjoyed the Coco Beach club while in Coco Cay. I think it was $100 a person but very quiet and very nice. Never felt crowded to us. There's a little flag on your chair and that indicates you want service. They do have over water bungalows - pretty expensive though. If you have the beverage package - you can use it on the island. Lunch at the Beach club was really good too and included.
  19. Sailed 14 Carnival ships (but some may have been refurbed into others) 21 Carnival cruises Never have had a slice of Carnival Pizza. Two upcoming cruises - Italy / Greece in September on the Pride And Western on the Pride out of Tampa in January - Friends cruise 5 couples 🙂
  20. Hi Dave/Kathy. First we are also a Dave/Kathy 🙂. We have 7123 booked on the Beyond. I read somewhere that the balconys get drenched when the windows are washed above. Did you have this experience and do you remember how many times they were washed. Also does the AC shut off when you are on the balcony if the door is open? Thanks!!
  21. Does anyone know the size of the bottle?
  22. Yes - three ships within an hour of one another. Go with the Ship's excursion.
  23. I have seen where no alcohol can be bought on the ship (unless you have the drink package) on NCL cruises at Greek ports. Is this the same for all cruise lines or just NCL? I also see Carnival allows you to bring alcohol back on board from the ports (not the case in the states and Caribbean) - I wonder if this is in response to the above?
  24. We have a full day private tour (we are two couples on the trip) scheduled with Tours by Locals which includes a driver and guide for the whole day. They'll pick us up right at the port and bring us back. We are also getting picked up early - 7:30. I just wanted to have a driver and guide for the whole day in Athens. I didn't want to try and piece meal it. We are currently working out the itinerary for the day but of course had to get to the Acropolis early.
  25. Thanks - you too!! Lots of prep on this one. I think the most research I've done on any previous cruise. I just got my tickets to the Acropolis and the museum. Not sure if you've done that already but luckily my tour guide emailed me a few days ago to get the 8-10 am entry.
