The juice making operation was indeed set up in the middle of the buffet. There may have been another somewhere on Enchanted but I didn’t see it.

if you need to avoid one ingredient, it might not be possible. I did not see the equipment cleaned out between different juice creations. But it never hurts to ask.

I did have to give my cabin number to a crew member who wrote it in a notebook. I’m not sure if there would be an extra charge for something special.

For at least the last ten years we've ordered fresh squeezed juice (orange and/or grapefruit) at breakfast

(in the dining room) and the waiter always asks for our cabin number. This was still accurate as of Oct. 2023.

We've had some form of drink package since they came out and think the fresh squeezed juice at breakfast to be one of the best perks of that package.

So I'm wondering if that will still be possible or if gets tossed in cost cutting. 😢

Juice bar is alive and well on Enchanted this morning. My pictures aren’t uploading at the moment but it’s a big Waring juicer and 5 varieties. I tried the Antioxidant. It would have been better with ice but it was okay.

@BamaVol - Your pictures seem to be from the buffet.

I'm wondering if it might still be possible to get fresh juice from the buffet instead of the juice bar.

(Not the concoctions Princess advertises , just fresh juice - orange or grapefruit, etc.)

Beg3yrs, where is the aft smoking area on the Sun Princess.  Is it very big?

I can't say firsthand as I am not sailing on the Sun Princess until June 1.

That said, I've read a report on CC the smoking area is located on the Wake View Terrace.

So another problem with moving the Sanctuary dining room to deck 8.

I'm reading several trip reports about the smell of smoke emanating from  the smoking area on the Wake View Terrace .

What a lovely ambience for a "sanctuary" dining room! 🤬

Does this work if making a payment through a TA?  It shows up on my Gold card I used to get the bonus spend by paying part of my booking.

When you've paid through your TA in the past does the charge show as from the TA or from Celebrity?

Ours always shows from Celebrity (and I think any reputable TA charges this way) and so making a payment for a cruise has always worked in the past.

My TA said she'll put the charge through for me on Monday so I can come back here and report. Amex lately has sent me an email almost immediately when I use  an offer.

We've really loved Princess but this new ship layout just wasn't thought through at all!!! 😨

Two other people answered. You can see from the photos that it isn't very pleasant.

I haven't been on the Sun yet but from the diagram of deck 8 aft, it looks like people will walk through the dining room to get to the wake pool. Not sure how they can stop this or change this.

I can't find any photos - just the diagram but I can see from that, that there's a big problem.

So , they didn't think through the initial layout and how it would work and now they're compounding the problem.

The only way to an aft (beautiful looking) pool is through the suite dining room! 😨

We had 39 days booked in a suite but that's been cancelled and now we'll try a short 7 day before finally judging whether this ship works for us. If others follow our lead Princess better get their act together.

Totally agree. Now we get the noise and the people walking through in bathing suits to the Wake Pool. Plus the view out the windows will be awful!

What is the view out the windows?

And ,why would people be walking through a dining room at all?

    That actually makes sense.

The only problem (for us, at least) is that all of the noise from decks 6 and 7 will filter up to deck 8 as it does in the MDR on Celebrity. The ambience of a special "suite" or "sanctuary" area just won't be there.

    1) Signature Dining Room for suites is currently Deck 7 Midship but there is talk of changes coming in around October with the Sanctuary Collection changes. It could be moving to Deck 8 Aft and becoming the Sanctuary Dining Room  (with more passengers to cater for).

    That doesn't make sense.

That would eliminate the current walk-in casual restaurant that Princess is adding to all of their current ships in the new Dine My Way program/

It also leaves to two spaces on Deck 7 for the Signature and Reserve restaurants (that they've invested in furnishing) empty.

I could see somehow trying to combine those two before moving the whole thing to deck eight.

I used the offer on my wife's card a couple of days ago.  It just showed up on my card today!

Did you put the two $500 deposits on the same cruise or different cruises?

I'm wondering if using the offer twice on the same cruise would trigger a problem.

I just wanted to thank the OP @Stockjock for alerting all of us to this offer!!! 💜

I'm not sure you are correct or maybe we are not talking about the same situation. Per Regents site on air deviation, your first call is $75 but if you don't accept the offered itinerary within 3 days, then....

After the Custom Air flight option expires, to search for additional flight options an additional $75 non-refundable fee will be added to the reservation.

    20 minutes ago, 1982CruzStart said:

I didn't mean that if they offered you something and you didn't do anything about it and the offer expired there might not be an additional charge. However if you are going back and forth with them it can certainly take more than 3 days and you shouldn't get charged. When we did our latest deviation we took longer than 3 days to get to what we wanted and we were not charged a second $75 fee. We were working through our TA  and she would send us something, then with time differences it would be the next day before we responded etc over a number of days.

Once you verbally accept an offer you will get an email from Regent giving you three days to confirm in writing that you accept that offer.

That's where the three days comes in. Once you receive that written offer, if you don't accept it in three days it disappears and you have to start the process again. If that happens you will be charged another $75 to start the process again.

FYI...Amex Offers can only list 100 at a time.  If you don't see the offer you have to add other offers to your card and then logout and log back in for a new batch of offers. I had to add 90 other offers to my card before I was able to see the Celebrity one.

Thank you!  Just added 241 offers to my card before it showed up.  Great way to "earn" a little $$ while watching TV!  We'll use the card to make a pmt on our upcoming cruise.

WOW!!! I've added 15 or 20 offers to try and get things like this to pop up but you guys are really pros.

I guess I'll have to work harder. 🤣

It's not currently on any of our Amex cards. We DID get it two years ago so I wonder if somehow they have a record of that and so don't offer it to the same person again.

OBC which is purchased is refundable like what you get from the TA.  The trick is either go to guest relations the last night of the sailing and get any remainder in cash OR use a different card (not Amex) when setting up your seapass account.    If the remaining OBC is credited to your Amex then they might claw back the statement credit.

We did that two years ago. Got the offer on one Amex so when I boarded I changed the Amex on file for ship charges to a different one in case there were any refunds.

  13. 36 minutes ago, GoNavyFamily said:

You said it took 4 days...so I assume it was not settled in the first phone call to Regent Air.  My understanding is that you have to pay $75 per phone call. Did your TA get charged each call? Was the total of all call charges then credited to the deviation fee incurred?

You only get one $75 charge per booking. So if all of the calls were about booking the same flight then there would be only one charge. (I know this because the original Regent agent I spoke to booked us on the wrong date and when I called back to change it I wasn't charged a second $75)

If I had changed my mind and wanted to change my flight I would have incurred a second fee.

Karen, there are four areas unique to Mariner.  First is Mariner Lounge pre-dinner; it is unique amongst the lounges outside of Compass Rose in that it doesn’t need to double as the night club; Mariner has Stars Lounge for that.  Second is the Garden Promenade; a great place to drink coffee; play games, work on the puzzle, or read a book.  Third is the observation lounge.  The only one in the fleet with outside areas to take pictures.  In addition, it is two levels above the bridge so no need for strong tinting or curtains that must be closed at night like on the other ships.  Fourth is Horizon Lounge on the stern of deck 6.  There is an outdoor seating area which is great.  Voyager also has Horizon Lounge but it was deleted from the newer ships.

As you probably can tell Mariner is my favorite ship.

    Thanks Marc

I'm going to print out your suggestions and  take it with us!

Today we arrived in Iceland.  Although no transit through Prince Christian Sound due to ice (why do those in Miami keep forgetting that there is ice up north), we did get an extra day in Nuuk.  Weather in Greenland was fantastic.

Ship continues to impress.  Even with cold weather and a full ship, F&B Brandon and Beverage Manager Brako have continued to be flexible and get everyone fed and well lubricated.  Lecturers have been good although redundant with same itinerary two years ago (to be expected).  We are changing cabins in Reykjavik; living with the tub/shower combination was not as bad as I thought but I will be glad to move to shower only suite for remainder of grand voyage.

Weather will be bad in Iceland (40s/50s and rain/drizzle) and Torshavn is not looking the best but things looking up once we get to Scotland.  Mariner as great as ever.

    More to come.

    Marc

Thank you for all of these updates.

We will be taking our first Regent cruise on the Mariner this fall (after many Sitmar, Home Lines, Princess, Celebrity, etc. cruises) for a special birthday.

Do you have any hints of places on the ship or things to do (again , on the ship) not to be missed?

  16. I remember doing this years ago but I just received an email from Celebrity advertising it again.

I logged into the MGM site but their tiers have different names than Celebrity.

Can anyone tell me what level MGM I would be at if I'm Elite Plus on Celebrity?

    Thanks

(I also remember being able to tier match a second place from the MGM program but no longer remember where that was)

If the e-mail them, what about paper quality, or how would they hold up from dock to suite?

Celebrity and Princess now email them. (Actually it's not even an email. You have to click on a link in your cruise documents on line and find them there. Then print yourself.) They print out so that you fold them over and people say they work . We purchased plastic holders to put them in .

Cruise Tags - Cruise Ship Luggage Etag Holder with Zip Seal & Steel Loops (4 Pack)

Even if you're Platinum (like we are), they don't send leather (not real leather) tags any longer. On our last cruise in April all we received was the tags to deliver luggage to cabin. Maybe if you are brand new Platinum they send the leather tags the first time.

So are they at least sending the paper tags or do they email them and we have to print them out?

  19. It has been reported that all of the pools on the Sun Princess have ladder entries vs. gradual step-type entries.

We're sailing with children (9 and 11). I wondered just how deep the pools are? Will the children be able to stand once they enter the pool or will it be over their heads everywhere?

  20. 15 hours ago, Trunkabella said:

They are luggage tags, not name tags.  The link is to a legit Regent website.  The email was forwarded to us by our TA.

    IMG_0822.jpeg

So I think the OP's question was, if they DON'T respond to the email will they receive the old pleather luggage tags, rather than the paper ones.

I read that email as not really giving them a choice. Regent just wants to confirm the address to send the tags ,which will be paper instead of the older(nicer!) ones.

On the three older Regent ships, Compass Rose is open for lunch every day except the first and last days. The lunch menu revolves around selections from the Prime 7 and Chartreuse lunch menus on the newer ships.

So first and last days are Pool Grill only?

To answer your question, dinner is not included in your pre-cruise night hotel. You are on your own. Can get great suggestions for places to eat either from the Regent rep at the hotel or from the concierge.

There's a Regent rep at the hotel?

(We're at that same hotel and didn't expect dinner but it will be nice to have someone to answer other questions that might come up)
