There are a few select gift cards (store or restaurant mainly) that can be purchases with points but not Princess or any travel gift cards that I have seen.
August will be our the first cruise with both minis, thanks to an upgrade. We also have the plus package for when out and about on the ship. I foresee a lot of restroom visits on that trip.
More Princess website glitches. I suddenly became a "doctor" on the website last year. No way to correct it on the website so I killed valuable time on the phone getting it corrected, then it happened again this year. I ignored it this time and it magically changed back to "Mr." at least for now. As long a you match your passport you should be good.
If you are in a suite it will be stocked with included beverages, if not then it will be empty, regardless of your package purchase. Once you fall in love with princess and sail enough to be elite status you also get one minibar.
The agency our TA works for has a small amount of the total cost that they will not apply gift cards to. Less than a single $500 card. I don't care, as I prefer no to split cards anyway. Compared to the huge discounts I get with them it is a very small price. So no big deal just FYI.
I am amazed that to push the packages they have not already changed/replaced some of the elite perks that are also part of the packages like minibar and reduced WIFI.
We will be on the Caribbean Princess again in August as well. Have sailed on her six times before. It is an older ship but that has it's own charm. Some of the best crew we have experienced.
Be sure to ask specifically for a can, if that is what you want. It has worked for us. We even pick up unopened cans at a bar in the evening to put in the fridge for the wakeup drink.
Princess has a max on the total amount of onboard credit that can be on a stateroom account.
from the website.
Onboard Credits cannot exceed $1,500 per booking
Truly quiet places onboard can be hard to find. Never understood the need for canned background music even at low volume in venues during the day when they do not have activities going or even a bar open. But that's just me. On ships with Skywalkers it seems a contradiction that the nightclub is the quiet place during the day.
Just off a b2b on the Caribbean out of FLL. The first week to the west had loads of kids everywhere. The second east leg hardly any. I could not figure out why. Others mentioned the MLK holiday was during the first week. I never thought that was a school break. But what do I know. Anymore schools seem to take different break times.
Not a huge deal, but we have done 31 cruises with Princess and somehow we apparently are now first timers "new to Princess" on the new app? π Not sure it is worth the effort of a chat session to try and fix it before our cruise next week or wait until onboard and see if it changes.
Same here, it's weird to me but it must be somehow cheaper for them to crisscross the whole country before arrival at the destination. Going right by on the way to CA and back π€.
Sign in with the booking number for the cruise you want to see. I hope this gets fixed soon so we can see and select from a list like the old app with out the log out and back in hassle.
Well progress has been made. We are at least now both green lane under the new app as well as the old one for our sailing in a couple of weeks. I do think the format of the new app will be more user friendly for onboard usage. Looking forward to real world testing that soon. π
