  1. Shogun and ccrain... Thanks for an enjoyable 2 wks. I made it more interesting by going to AIS Vessel Tracking to see where the ship was at any given time and the destination. I then went to Google Maps to look up the location in Norway and looked thru the pictures Google has. Other than for the beds (haven't experienced them yet) I also know the ship very well.

    Again thanks for the ride-along.

  2.

Second option is WestJet also via Toronto.

It is an option but keep in mind that WS code shares with AA, so if you pick an AA flight LAX - YYZ, you will have to change terminals at Toronto.

  3. I agree with CB... first talk to the BIL. If he understands the situation, he probably won't want you to change your plans. Plus.. you said he had 'months to live' - the cruise is only at most 3 months away. Enjoy your life while you can. It can happen to any of us.... And it will.

Lost my wife last Dec but she made me promise to live my life to the greatest I could.

  4. and you might also have to take a bus to T2. If to T2, be sure to stay airside you only do TSA once.

Thanks for all the info on JFK. I'm looking into a trip to the UK, also on DL. Coming back I'll be changing in JFK going to YYZ. Since most flights to YYZ are on RJ's I'm assuming I will have to transfer to T2. What I can't find is where the airside bus leaves from T4 to go to T2. Do you go thru TSA at T4 as if you were leaving from that terminal and then find the airside bus? No indication on any terminal maps where this would be. Normally airports advise what gate (area) the bus is located. Any knowledge?

Thanks again for your (and others) help.

  5. Flew into FLL from BOS on Jetblue a few weeks ago, and was impressed. From touchdown to kerbside in 30 minutes, with checked - in baggage.

JetBlue does not fly LGB to FLL direct, change at SFO/JFK or BOS.

The comments probably had more to do with the terminal experience at FLL than it did which airline it was.

  6. because 100 ml is such a common measure - so it makes sense to do that because it means that plenty of people can buy and carry 100 ml containers without difficulty.

That in itself may be some of the frustration that Americans have in that they do not use the metric system and don't necessarily understand the sizes. They also may not have access to 100ml or 1L packages as we do? Perhaps if, in the US, they allowed 3oz or 1qt containers they would understand more easily? Wouldn't help them travelling in the rest of the world though.

  7. So, off the subject a tad bit but it is related.

Exactly the same thing happened to me once at our regional airport, although not quite as extensive as your experience. Made thru security with no problem - little light went on for TSB to allow me thru... then - beep, beep, beep. Stand over here sir (while I waited for an inspector). Swabbed my hands and viola - please come over here for an inspection. They checked everything and found nothing conclusive (didn't have the full body shakedown though). Turns out it was from the soap I had just used in the lav before going thru security. You would think they would learn??

  8. Can't get my head around this conversation. If you're MIL is willing to come... same price as dog sitting - therefore zero - she gets to visit before and after - loves the area - and the dog gets 24/7 care.... Where does price come into it?

I would easily pay for my MIL to come here to pet-sit (which she has done) for 2X the price of an airline ticket. MIL's happy, pet's happy, I'm happy. What is wrong with this picture?

  9. Even if the transition altitude is 18,000 feet? (As I think it usually is across North America.)

I think the OP may be able to confirm whether "12,000 feet" is correct in these circumstances.

As someone else said.. "Good Catch". The transition altitude in NA is indeed 18000 ft. Below that is altitudes, at or above - flight levels.

Unless the controller is lazy (happens), the correct phraseology is.. climb/descent to twelve-12 thousand - not 120 or level 120 or flight level 120.

If descending from the "high" (FL180 or above) an altimeter setting will also be issued which the pilot will adjust to once he leaves FL180 - above that all altimeters are set to 29.92, not ground pressure.

  10. Two clocks side by side is better then two clocks vertical.

Some signatures are extremely long

I know that mine isn't short but at least I have put my countries in horizontal in stead of vertical like some does with their cruises.

To give you an idea of the difference:

What does that prove?? Other than it's as annoying as the super long posts that people have to copy and say - I agree, or - Thanks for the post. It gets to the point where people stop reading the thread.

  11. Well if the OP had checked the website we wouldn't be treated to this long overdue resurrection of the "is Skywalkers gonna be removed from any more ships" rumor mongering [emoji57]

Not all people are as 'Computer Literate' as we are. It was a simple question. Give the OP a break.

  12. I'm like Tracie's husband - Give me light and get me out of this room!! If I couldn't get up in the night (or early morning) and step out just to say.. damn it's cold, lets stay in bed for a little longer - Well.. I'd have to get dressed to go out and come back to say.. damn it's cold out there!! :)

I would be willing to pay the extra (aprx) $30/day pp for that and order room service for breakfast. :D

  13. If you had bothered to check the deck plans, you would have seen it. The Princess website has a lot of great information, but not many people check it, why?

Was that really necessary?? If you don't like the question, don't respond.
