Yes.  I was at the Hampton Inn Manhattan.  I was in the first car that showed up.  I think that all thought a bus would move us,  so people were reluctant to step forward.  The lady with the car replied to all questions with sound answers, so I figured that it was not a scam.  We got to the hotel around 1 pm.

We were in the last car, quite some time later. Princess only authorized a two day stay, even though they changed our flight to September 24 due to the ten day quarantine requirement. The front desk couldn’t or wouldn’t give us the Princess rate, but a seven day stay showed up on the screen at almost $5,000. We chose the two day stay, and on Monday moved to Courtyard by Marriott on points. There was never anyone from Princess there, as promised, to give support or information. We are going to try to get Princess rate compensation for that stay from Princess insurance, but are not optimistic.

On the Enchanted right now, no drink service in the theater. A few folks do bring their drinks in from a nearby bar.

We were just on the Enchanted. The theatre has no place to put your drinks, unlike other theatres, which is very annoying. I also miss the bar service in the theatre.

Well I guess that I was one of the 67 or more who tested positive for Covid. Tested on  Tuesday after I had a rough time sleeping Monday night.  The wife and I were given option for me to isolate in our original cabin or be moved.   The wife said "move him".  I ended up on deck 9 balcony, orange sticker on the door said 'trained personnel only admittance'.  I am sure that there were many unreported cases.

Being escorted off of the ship,  I passed many cabins with red labels indicating no admittance warning.

No followup from Medical during my stay onboard ship.  I did receive one phone call from guest services early on asking me how I was doing.  No real explanation on the 5 day isolation policy was given.  If you want a good review of this trans Atlantic passage, go to the review section for Enchanted Princess.  I totally agree with the review.   Tom

We had no follow up either, other than to cancel and rebook our flight.

Did you go to the Hampton Inn?

Thank you.  Maybe they are moving towards that?  Or, was the quarantine area full?  So hope you are feeling okay.

I don’t know. The quarantine area was probably quite full. An anonymous source reported that there were at least 67 people onboard with Covid as we approached Boston, and we were not allowed to dock there due to the number of reported Covid cases. That’s not to mention the probable large number of unreported cases. My husband and I are feeling fine now, thanks.

  5. My husband and I are on the Enchanted Princess right now. With three days left of the cruise, we both got Covid yesterday.

We’re shocked at the few people who are wearing masks.

We have been wearing our masks in all public places. Don’t know how we contracted it. We have been so very careful.

I’m sure many people have it and are not reporting it. We would be tempted to do the same, but I’m immunocompromised, and having a fever can be dangerous for me. I was told by the medical centre that they do not have the antiviral medication on the ship, which I find strange, with so many elderly and compromised passengers.

Since we are Canadian, we will be sent to a hotel to complete the ten day quarantine period. Not a fun way to end the cruise.

At least, they allowed us to remain in our beautiful aft corner suite.

You do not have to submit thru a TA.  We have always sybmitted it directly ourselves.

From the CCL shareholders benefit form:  "Applications to receive these benefits should be made at least three weeks
    prior to cruise departure date."

We have submitted it much closer to our cruise date.  Our last cruise we booked 8 days before departure and still got our OBC before we sailed.  We called the Shareholder benefits  phone number after emailing and confirmed receipt.  Explained we were a last minute booking and it was quickly posted to our account.

    Thank you for this information!

  7. We’re in Palm Desert Ca right now. I’m stressing about getting the covid pcr test for our return.  Most places will not guarantee results in time for the flight. There is a drive through facility that claims that results will be provided in an hour for $199. However, you have to book online and there’s no number to call. Have to pay in advance. I don’t want to waste $800 for the four of us if there are any issues.

I wonder how many people miss their flights for this reason.

I noticed you sailed on cormer suite (our favorite) on both Edge and S Class ships.....Was wondering your thoughts on the rooms?  We loved the S class, but looking at the Edge corner suite, we were less than impressed...in fact we canceled it, and took aft facing Aqua Class.  We felt like the cost was ridiculous for that suite.  The aft corner suites on Princess put the Edge to shame.  Don't get me wrong, we prefer Celebrity for must everything else but that room on Princess can;t be beat (IMHO).  We are anxious to try a bigger Princess ship to really compare other things.  Nice to have choices:):)

We always book the aft corner suites on S class, and look forward to the Jan 30 sailing on Equinox.

We had an aft corner suite on the Edge in 2019. The balcony was smaller and didn’t have a table. We knew that it wasn’t wraparound, but booked it anyway as we wanted to try the new ship. We missed the extra window on S class. Edge class was a once only and we are back to S class.

I agree with you about the aft corner suites on Princess. They are awesome, with the separate bedrooms. We have one booked on the Sky Princess in 2023.

  9. We had a cruise from Bergen to Reykjavik  booked in July 2020. It was cancelled due to covid, of course. We took the 125% future cruise credit and rebooked the same cruise to July of this year, which was cancelled today.

We have no option of a refund. A new credit will be issued, which expires in two years. At that time, we will receive a cash refund, after Viking has held on to our money of over $20,000 for almost four years.

We would be willing to book the same cruise for 2023, as next year is not an option. However, the price has increased, and Viking refuses to honour the price we paid for the same cabin.

We’re very disappointed in Viking’s poor customer service and will probably wait the two years for our refund.

  10. With a GTY, you are guaranteed a cabin in that category or better.
You cannot be downgraded, but you have a good chance of being upgraded. As long as you are willing to accept any PV1 cabin, I would be tempted to go for it.

Don’t worry about cabins not being available. That’s Viking’s problem. They usually hold back a few cabins for whatever reason.

  11. We had a 12 night cruise on the Equinox Feb 7/21. We don’t feel comfortable cruising within this timeframe due to COVID.

A couple of days ago, I checked Lift & Shift on the Celebrity website. There were two options available, although the same cruise is not offered for 2022. The ports are different, but with Caribbean cruises, we don’t care about the ports.

I would have been able to make the request online, but I wanted a specific cabin. I emailed my TA with instructions, and a few hours later, we were booked on the new cruise.
Since we booked the original cruise onboard a previous cruise with lots of perks, we were able to keep all of these, along with the original price. We are happy!

No. It is not a blanket closure halting all travel in and out of the country but the borders are closed to leisure travelers, at least according to this article: https://www.lifeinnorway.net/norway-travel-restrictions-to-remain-in-place-over-summer/

Yes, restrictions might be eased for Nordic countries and select European countries,  but North Americans will not be allowed into the country until late August.

Most Viking passengers on our July cruise are probably North Americans, and we will not be allowed into the country.
