We are Concierge this time and I have read that we will be left a bottle of fizz in the cabin, which we can change for still wine. Will we be charged corkage fee if we take it to MDR, as we didn’t bring it on to the ship with us.

No, you will not have to pay a corkage fee for wine provided by Celebrity.
We always exchange our bubbly for a bottle of red wine, which has a Celebrity label.

You sure the cruise price went up?  They are only supposed to add the cost of the promo.

Well, I assumed that the cruise was re-fared. The price went up by $364.00pp.I don’t know what the price would be to include the BSE perks.

For our Sky Princess TA Sept/20, the drink package had previously been applied. When the Gratuities and wifi were added, the fare was decreased by &1,446.00 pp. for our S3 suite.

It must have been re-fared due to a price drop from original booking in June/19.

You are lucky.  We have 35 days booked b2b in 2021 and we had sip & sail and we would have to pay more money to add the gratuity/internet by hundreds.  We are in a mini suite.  Idon't know if that makes a difference.

We also have a TA booked on Discovery Princess, November 2021. It had no perks. We were able to add this promotion, but the cruise price has increased by several hundred dollars. However, it is still a bargain when the value of all the perks is calculated.

Does it seem odd that if you booked under sip & sail there are no upgrades on this sale . Why wouldn’t they have a WiFi + grats upgrade for say $20 a day pp?  Charlie

I have a cruise booked on Sky Princess. Originally, there were no perks. When sip n sale came along, my TA was able to add it, along with a small price reduction. With this new promotion, she had the gratuities and wifi added, along with a huge price reduction.

On the other hand, our future cruise on Discovery Princess resulted in a price increase of a few hundred dollars when the BSE promotion was added, but it was well worth it.

  5. We booked a Sept. 2020 TA on Sky Princess  (S3 suite) in March/19. No perks were included at the time.

In June, we took advantage of a sip n sale promotion, and the price had come down by $484. cdn.

Last week, we found out about the BSE promotion and were able to add the gratuities and wifi, including an additional price reduction of $2,892 cdn for the two of us!

    it pays to keep checking!

  6. We have had several cruises on Oceania, and enjoyed all of them until the TA on Riviera last year. We found a noticeable decline in the food quality (except for Red Ginger). The sommelier service was so bad, that we brought drinks from the bar into the dining room.

We took our first Crystal cruise in October. The food was very good and the service amazing. Crystal might cost a little more, but it’s nice that everything but tours is included. They truly make you feel special.

We are excited to be taking our first Viking Ocean cruise in July and hope it will be more aligned to Crystal.

It’s doubtful that we will return to Oceania.

We are on this sailing and also Elite plus in a concierge cabin.

On May 3, we received the THIRD move up offer.

We normally sail in sky suites, so perhaps this is the reason we are receiving the offers.

We would love to have one of the two higher suites, but not unless the minimum bid is reduced to an amount we are willing to pay.

Don’t think this will happen, so wish they would stop tempting us😊

  8. We are low maintenance and do not use our butlers. We just got off the Edge after two weeks in a sky suite. We told our butler on day one that we would not need her, giving her more time with her other passengers. However, she would not take no for an answer and came to our cabin once or twice/day asking if there was something she could do for us. She was very nice, and have to give her credit for trying, but it was a waste of her time.

Re: the poster who commented on Luminae staff treating lower suite guests like trash- In our experience, this could not be farther from the truth, and it is a shocking comment. Luminae service is excellent, and everyone is treated equally.

    Randy,

Priscilla Schmitt is indeed the Retreat Manager (different title on Edge!) on the Edge right now.  She's due for vacation soon.  I'm not quite sure if she knew what ship she was going to after vacation.  I agree with everyone - Priscilla is the best!

Yes, Priscilla is wonderful! She remembered us from a previous cruise.

We just left the Edge this morning after a wonderful b2b.

Thank you for returning...I have this information, so no surprises there.  Just wondered if I may have missed something or that you would have wanted an S1 with the bed facing the water...I too love the S class suite aft cabins; will miss the huge porthole for sure!  At least I will get my exercize no matter which ship I am on for a cruise...Again...thanks!

Here are photos of S1 corner aft on S class for comparison. We’re in an S1 corner aft on Edge right now.

The closets on the Edge are in an awkward place on either side of the bathroom door. The sofa is very hard and uncomfortable, as others have mentioned.

We do have two loungers, and the rocker has been removed.

The S class cabins are a bit larger and I like the side window. The pole is not an issue. The sofa is certainly more comfortable and it’s nice having a coffee table.

I also prefer the balconies on S class. They wrap around providing a nice aft and side view.

We are enjoying the Edge, and have booked the same cabin type as we have now on the Apex for 2021. The price is around $1,500 pp cdn higher than what we paid for the Edge, on day 1 in 2017. We’re having second thoughts about keeping this booking, as the price high, and the itinerary is exactly the same as this one.

We may change to the Reflection after it has been Edgified.

  11. If you choose the House Select package, you might be disappointed.

The sommelier service on our Riviera TA cruise in November was very poor. We had to wait a long time for the sommelier to come to our table, and it was difficult to get a second glass of wine.

We had upgraded our package before the cruise, and after a couple of days, we decided to take a glass of wine with us into the dining room, which reduced the annoyance of waiting for service.

There were few sommeliers and they appeared to be worked off their feet.

I was going by the deck plan for your ship. https://www.celebritycruises.com/cruise-ships/celebrity-eclipse

Just go to deck 10 and look at 1200 and you will see how it connects to 1198, which is an S1 (Sky Suite).

I wouldn't expect it to be really noisy with both inside doors closed toward each other, however we have not experienced this, yet. We have a connecting stateroom (S1) on the Eclipse (7356) which connects with 7358, a Sunset Veranda. Hopefully your cruise will be before ours (August 18 - Vancouver) and you can tell how it was for you.

The deck plan is misleading. It looks like the cabins connect through the wall, but that is incorrect. As previously mentioned, there is an outer door leading to a vestibule, with a door to an S1 and and a separate door to a sunset veranda cabin. We have stayed in such an S1 many times. The vestibule is quite spacious, with wasted space. I guess it is useful for assistive devices such as wheelchairs or scooters.

It’s annoying to have to unlock both doors. We sometimes prop open the outer door when expecting guests. There is no doorbell at the outside door.

The cabin is very quiet. We have never heard the neighbors next door.

I love the idea of switching that cube seat inside to become a footrest outside and it looks like the balcony will be large enough to put the rocking chair outside (will it?? does it fit through the sliding door??).

I read a post from a future Edge cruiser who was on another ship docked next to the Edge recently. She said that she counted 50 rocking chairs on balconies!

We will also be in 10274 in February b2b.

The rocking chair will be going out!😊
