Hope so...the Hoppen look is bland, sterile, , depressing and boring,,.no pizzazz!

Ships need an update but looks like they will be in "whitewash" colors

Curious - what about the current look of the M & S class ship do you find "pizazz-y?" The staterooms are a light "wood" look with white bedding & maroon accents?

I personally like the look.   My tastes definitely go to contemporary.    In the past year I've had a couple of our houses remodeled and the color pallet is very similar.

I defiantly like the look as opposed to the old dark wood and maroon.   Especially the Retreat vs Michael's Club and Rendezvous  Lounge.   They look so much bright and cheery.

I agree, I like the subtle pallet with accent colors here and there. In fact, that is something I have always like about Celebrity - especially when the the S-Class ships debuted - I felt the decor at the time was more sleek & modern, almost like a Westin. I never liked the foam teals, blues & corals which seemed very prevalent in the late 90's & early 2000's. Sometimes, when searching for pics of celebrity staterooms, you will come across images of cabins from that era.

  3. The online check in seems to be all over the place. I just took a pic from my phone in front of our bedroom door and uploaded. Just had to make sure the resolution was 960x960 pixels.

*edited to add, this was check on for the Infinity

Did you just show up at the spa on a port day and ask for the pass?  I will be giving it a try next month on the Equinox.  I dont understand why Celebrity is always taking perks away from their faithful Captains Club guests.

    Marion

We did... and no issues or questions asked.

Not sure why they would axe this particular benefit. It costs them nothing and I could be wrong, but probably seldom used. In all our years as elite, we have only gone one other time... and actually, now that I think of it, we were in aqua class!

  5. We were in FLL just a couple of weeks for a cruise and stayed at the W which is attached to El Vez, they have a great happy M-F from 4-7. The Carnitas Tacos were very, very good and the Nachos were excellent.

We will be staying at the Hilton Marina before our cruise on the Infinity in a couple of weeks and stayed a few years ago post cruise. If you have time, you can catch the water taxi from the hotel - it's a great little "hop on/hop off" sort of ride and I believe they do holiday light tours as well. Oh... and there is a bar on board too! 🙂

We are consdiering booking a cruise, Aqua Class on the Celebrity Millennium for 2021 (14 days-Japan).  My travel agent notified us that all deposits are now non-refundable.  Is this a new regulation, only on specific cruises, or types of rooms, or something we have overlooked.

I do not believe that is correct. Celebrity, on some sailings, and during some sales, does offer a slightly reduced fare if you choose the non refundable option. I just ran a dummy booking for Asia, January 3, 2021 and the payment page image is attached, which states, no risk deposit until October 2020

  7. I always appreciate anyone who takes the time from their day or vacation to respond, post photos, share experiences and answer questions - so THANK YOU! Oftentimes, responses and reviews on this board are laced with negative undertones... and that's just the nature of people. Two persons can share the exact same cruise and have completely different opinions as to the good and bad. I for one, tend to enjoy the "positive" voice of your recap, and again... thank you for the info and insight!

I  recently saw a post mentioning this on a Celeb thread but cannot seem to  find it again.

I copied and pasted the info from a post on  the Royal C thread

Just curious if this might be coming to Celebrity...hope not!

If it did I think it would dilute some Cap Club  and suite perks..

"Just read about this.  I'm don't think it's anything I would use.  $24.99 per person and everyone over the age of 6 must purchase it.  What are your thoughts on this program?

    The Key provides:

    • Carry-on luggage service offering drop off at the Theater (until 1:30 PM) and delivery to your stateroom (Up to 2 bags per guest)
    • Private lunch at Chops Grille on boarding day from 11:30 AM until 1:30 PM - this does not need to be reserved, as the dining team will be expecting guests who’ve purchased The Key package
    • Daily private hours at signature attractions like the FlowRider, Rock Climbing wall, and ice-skating rink
    • Priority tender service from cruise ship to shore
    • Access to the VIP seating at shows (reservations required through the Pre-Cruise Planner)
    • Complimentary VOOM Surf & Stream (1 device)
    • Choice debarkation with an exclusive à la carte breakfast beginning at 6:30 AM until 9:30 AM
    •
    • From what we understand, this is a pilot program and whether or not it rolls out to other ships and sailings depends on how well the program is received and performs."
    •
Everyone must purchase it? Surely by everyone, you mean those persons in the same stateroom must purchase if one person chooses to do so? Not everyone on the entire ship?

I'm interested in 6132's balcony...how windy it is since it faces forward.  What type of furniture is out there.  Any privacy issues with adjoining cabins.  Thanks.

We were just on the Summit in October/November and were in cabin #6132. We loved it. Wind was not an issue at all - the balcony was really spacious and while not exactly "private" - we did not feel as "exposed" as we thought we might. Re: furniture, I am sure it varies from ship to ship, but we had a larger table, two chairs and two loungers, and a small side table.

Charla - I am looking forward to following along, we board the Infinity the weekend after your cruise for New Year.
BTW: Best wishes on your upcoming nuptials! It sounds like the perfect way to say I DO!

Is there a dedicated Captain’s Club Lounge on Equinox?  I do not see it on the deckplans.

If not, where is the breakfast usually served?

There is not, the elite breakfast is usually held in Tuscan Grille. Details will be listed on a printout which you will find in your stateroom on embarkation day.

Thank you! On the Antigua trip there was snorkeling at the beach. A couple of members of the ship's crew led groups out not terribly far off the beach. After about an hour of lounge/snorkel time they served lunch, and that took another hour or so. The crew was pretty adamant that you couldn't snorkel after you had any alcohol so it wound down then. We did not snorkel ourselves because we are not strong swimmers but my eavesdropping suggested that those who did were not impressed. To be fair . . . the catamaran had groups from four ships, and the biggest group was from an Aida ship. I don't understand German so my eavesdropping options were limited!

There was another, smaller catamaran that came in about an hour after we did for snorkeling as well so maybe it was just an off day? It had been pretty stormy while we were heading to the beach. I heard back on the ship that people on some of the other catamaran excursions had to wear life jackets going out.

Thanks! We always miss the dog when we're gone, but she hates water, so she's never going to go on a cruise. 😆 Did your breakfast menu look like this at all or was it the older vertically-oriented one? I asked our butler about whether the speciality items had a fee and he said that it had changed for the suites. We were on Deck 8 amidst Concierge cabins and the other breakfast cards I saw out had a similar exterior, but ours was clearly marked "Suites" on the outside. I will be a little bummed if we can't get Benedicts and Bloodies on the Edge in February when we're back in a Sky Suite.

We only had the long, door hanging type breakfast menus. No bloodies and no bennies.

Side note: I should mention, as I have been remiss in writing a review of our cruise, but our Butler, Peter was absolutely wonderful! A truly genuine and delightful man who felt like an old friend. He really went above and beyond!

(and we really miss our pups when we're gone, too - but it makes coming home a little easier!)

  12. We are also on this cruise, and also usually do longer cruises, but wanted a quick getaway and couldn't beat the price.  Anyway... we decided today to book the premium package with the 10% off discount.  IMO, small price to pay for the ease of just ordering what you want, when you want. 🙂

  13. We sailed the Summit, just two weeks before you, also in a suite (just a sky suite) and did not have that same breakfast menu! Must be exclusive to celebrity suites and above - and the last time we were in a Celebrity Suite was in 2016 and we didn't have that menu either 😕. Happy to see they have added some adult beverage options at no additional fee.

Great review so far - and cute doggie!
