  1. Looks beautiful, tastes lovely. Now, how many of these do I need to make to keep me in cruise mode until December 1st? They will have to ROLL me onto the ship! LOL!

Well done looks fantastic,i got the recipe for the Granola bars from the Prom cafe and made them this week and not bad at all for a first attempt.

  2. I just won the Intercontinental San Juan for $120 June 23-26/11. Does anyone know how long it takes to get into OSJ from here? And is it easy to do without renting a car? Thanks!

the no 5 bus stops outside the Hotel

    $0.75 run every 20 mins.

    takes about 40 mins,

rather use bus than car rental if you only want to go into Old City, less hassle

  3. Thanks for the suggestions so far, I'll have to start reading up on them. We'd like to DIY in this port so hopefully we can find something that doesn't require private transport or a guide.

If anyone has more ideas, keep them coming! I know almost everyone flocks to Rome from this port so it may be hard to find other ideas.

I you decide on Tarquinia, look up cotral bus web page for times, every day but a sunday,

2.5e day ticket from local news seller bus stop opposite the church 200 yds from port entrance

  4. I'm guessing the chairs were tied down as much or more so they wouldn't blow or be tossed overboard at night than in respect to the running/walking track.

I see the track / deck as a multipurpose area which as I stated earlier should be and is available to runners / walkers most of the morning, but becomes more of a pool deck in the afternoon.

I guess we will just have to agree to disagree on this one. :)

No because I asked, plus it was only the ones around the track that were tied to the railings in short amounts unlike when they are stowed for bad weather,so disagree all you like.

  5. Not trying to start anything here ....... but as a former runner (10 marathons) AND experienced cruiser (10+ cruises), I'm going to have to side with the those trying to grab a deck chair, even if they have to move one to where it obstructs part of the track. We all know that the chairs are wedged in there WAY to closely, and that sometimes on sea days getting a chair can be a little rough. Add to that the fact that the direction of the chair you find might mean your back is facing the sun ...... means the chairs need to be moved.

So ...... IMHO ..... get your run in early because after about 11:00 or so, we sun worshipers are taking over. Or....... and as a runner, I know it's a bad word..... but, go hit the TREADMILL !

Oh no, there is just one track and loads of places for chairs just not on the marked track.

On the Indie the chairs around the track were tied up in such a way that they could not be moved onto the track.

  6. All your ideas are cute...agree.. Never put your last names..but..I don't think you should put your first names either......And make sure you remove all your decorations before disembarking...not something your cabin steward should have to do..

Mmm so by telephoning the number of that cabin it will not show you the first and second name of the person in there?

Or at least one of them.

  7. If you are eating in the speciality resturant, your dog should be at least 12 years old - otherwise they are too young and will bother others looking for a romantic dinner.

Did you know that if your dog is the 3rd passenger in the cabin they will have to pay more than you! :D

Ah but dont forget that every dog year is equivalent to 7 for a human so it could be a case of age discrimination but at least they might get an over 55 discount!

  8. Does anyone know of a private tour that will take us from the Le Harve cruise port to Rouen? What about getting there on your own? Any advice would be appreciated.

Its easy on the train, which is at the top end of Rouen, get a map and walk down to the river and take another route back.

Great medieval buildings and lots about Joan of Arc there.

    Nice city.

  9. We will be in Cork for a day in April. We are not interested in ships tours at all.

Can anyone suggest what we can do or if there are hire cars with driver to tour the area?

    Marilyn

Most ships dock at Cobh which is a few miles outside of Cork.

This town is worth seeing on its own or take the train into Cork for a morning trip then return and do Cobh in the afternoon.

The train station is right alongside the dock and trains leave every 30 minutes.
