Thats what I thought. Not sure I want to do Snorkel Beach at the Dockyard.
-
Would anyone be familiar with a good beach option that is close to the Dockyard... other than Snorkel Beach?
Looking for a resort or hotel that offers a day pass that is within close proximity (not a long taxi ride) to/from the Dockyard

By far the grandest Grander review I have seen. We are going in about a month to Bermuda on Grandeur... this review has been MOST helpful!
Thanks so much!!

Hello, glad you've had a great time, sorry about TS Colin! Can you tell me what shows they have on board? I love shows and musicals. We go on July 30th to Bermuda from Baltimore! Can't wait! Love reading all of this tonight [emoji4][emoji924][emoji925]

Hey! My wife and I will be on that cruise too! So looking forward to the R&R

Some muster stations are inside... In an emergency, you would meet there and then be escorted to a safe area or lifeboats if needed.
-
Solarium pool... on sea day... how crowded?
-
Going to be on Grandeur next month. How about internet speed with the new Voom? Also, I'm curious to know the hours of the Park Cafe and what options are available for late night snacks.
-
I'm sure the OP means INDEPENDENT
-
I could not image RCCL wanting to loose the revenue for a night, but was curious. Never been on a cruise where you sat still for a night.
-
What about casino? Is it open or closed while docked overnight? I know they are typically closed until your out in international waters?
-
kinda what I thought... just wanted to make sure there isn't an option I was unaware of.
Thanks

Not really needing a hotel, but can anyone recommend a close, off-site parking option for Baltimore?
-
For families... Oasis definitely or even Freedom... for a relaxing, no worries vacation for couples, I'd say any class.
If my kids (9&11) are going, I don't think their would be enough to entertain them on the smaller ships after being on Allure.
-
Thanks! That is kinda what I guessed, but then I did not know if they would have staff at the security checkpoints all night or not.
Not, that I want to stay out all night, but I am anxious for a relaxing vacation with no schedules.
-
Never stayed overnight at a port. When doing so on Grandeur in Bermuda, can you come and go as you please, or is there a curfew as to when you have to be on the ship at night?
-
Most people on here are going to advise to fly the day before. Too much can happen flying in the morning of a cruise.
I know for one, I would never fly the day of a cruise.

I am able to buy the 30% Voom for my Grandeur cruise in Aug.
Does this mean it will be installed by then since it is letting me buy it? A previous post said it would be 2017 for Grandeur even though supposedly all ships were to have it by May 2016.

Debating about the package on our upcoming 5 nighter... just checked and it was 20% off from what it was when I looked a couple months ago.. so I bought.

Wondering the same thing for a Bermuda cruise...
Can you come and go all hours of the night or do we have a curfew? ;-)
-
Yep, no bar there.... sat there every morning

Just tell your server that your celebrating a birthday, they will bring out whatever the person orders for dessert with a candle and all sing happy birthday. No one needs a whole cake.
Speak for yourself..we did not need a whole cake. We shared it with our wait staff... it was a nice treat for them and they certainly appreciated it.. The cake is actually good... we were well pleased with it. Best $16.95 we spent on the cruise really.... it made our daughter happy, made us happy, and made our servers happy too! Cant beat that

The water on-board is more pure than most bottled water. The desalination process produces very good water. Not sure the Brita would actually be filtering much.
-
Yup. Due to multiple poor choices on the OP's part, they have zero recourse.
If I'd spent $11k on a cruise, I surely would have spent another $200-300 for insurance. I never thought I'd need it either, but one one cruise we had an airline loose a piece of luggage... never did turn up. Then, on our Allure cruise, I came down with a horrible strep-throat infection. I was so miserable, I finally caved and went to the medical center. It was pretty pricey just for the visit and best I recall the amoxil was over $100.
Those are just 2 simple things in which having insurance more than paid for itself... I couldn't imagine something like knowing I was loosing $11k

Actually, while we absolutely love the Allure and Freedom, we are anxious to have a quiet getaway without the kids and to have a time to just relax.... not to stress about shows, tickets, etc.... not sure we will even plan much to do in Bermuda... maybe some shopping/sightseeing.
How is Voom on Grandeur now?
