Reading these boards, that is part of the problem, they tell us the celebration is off ship and allow us to book such. But then it changes last minute to onboard, that's what happened to us last May in Dubrovnik!

thankfully not last minute for us as we don't sail until May/ June.

I will say, one of the best performances I've seen was onboard the ship, in Scotland, in 2022.  Blew me away!

A number of years ago we embarked Azamara Quest in Nice, where she was docked.

laurieb, with two calls and two ports fairly close to each other,   I am guessing you may be there around the time of the Monte Carlo Grand Prix? We embarked in Nice but the following day docked in MC, the day after the F1 ended when the town was in "clear away all things F1" mode.

Yes we are!  Azamara is offering an excursion to the Grand Prix for only 1399.00 pp!!

  3. Just got this email:

Using Onboard Credit to Book Shore Excursions

To use your onboard credit (OBC) to book shore excursions, after logging into your account:

    1. Scroll down to Shore Excursions and select “Book” on the $0 Onboard Credit item to authorize use of your onboard credit
    2. Book your desired Shore Excursions
    3. Once your Shore Excursions are booked, navigate to the payment screen and click “Cancel"
    4. Your selected shore excursions are now booked, and onboard credit will be applied

I am thinking of pre purchasing the Experience More package but I have already booked all my shore excursions and do not want to cancel them in order to use the $350 excursion credit onboard, as the excursions I want could be sold out.  Has anyone had any problem getting the Experience More excursion credit credited to one's already paid for shore excursions?

I'm on the phone having it done right now!  Took about 15 minutes to have it changed to OBC and the pending refund is already showing on my credit card!!

Most ships' itineraries sensibly quote "Nice (Villefranche-sur-mer)", but Azamara's website mentioned both "Nice" and "Nice (Villefranche)" on different pages of one cruise 🙄

That was confusing, because that Azamara ship does fit into Nice Vieux Port.

    @SandyR5 I think you're right - a sloppy update, and you'll be tendering into Villefranche-sur-mer.

    JB 🙂

So, my Azamara cruise in May we are docked in Nice; we also have a different day where we will tender in to Villefranche.  Hope this clears up the confusion

We had a horrendous cruise with Azamara last year and we had the most ‘nights’ onboard! We are trying again this April but just for a week. Having sailed with RSSC and Seabourn it will have to be a special experience to keep us with Azamara but I am hoping because it was always my favourite line.

what happened to make it horrendous?

The beverage package pdf has now been removed from Aza’s website. We also cannot rely on cruise prices on line at present as glitches have been found (according to the on board cruise sales person). After I queried a pricing inconsistency between her numbers and the website’s, she said she was aware of the glitches because her colleagues had all been querying inconsistencies. So, the website problems continue. The new owners haven’t exactly been kicking goals.

The beverage packages are showing up on all four of my upcoming cruises, into 2025.  26.96 pppd for Ultimate; they show up under add-ons

  8. I’m understanding that obc can now be rolled over to the next cruise if doing a b2b; I don’t know if the second cruises obc can be used on the first cruise though, hopefully someone with current experience will chime in.

As far as the package upgrade, I don’t believe that applies to packages purchased by guests but to complimentary packages included through a promotion when the cruise is booked.

Azamazing Evenings was one of the things that made Azamara feel special, stand out from other lines.  Clearly these events are being cut -- be it to save funds or the COVID excuse or any other reason -- so Azamara leadership has to be honest about it.  Stop advertising something that isn't going to happen.  For me, it feels like a "bait and switch" and is just one more reason I have no bookings with Azamara (and honestly I barely even consider them these days.)

You can call covid an excuse, I'm sure many people that lost their livelyhood due to a year plus of no business would not call it an excuse.

I don't understand how anyone can expext everything, especially in the travel industry, to just pick up where it left off.  It would be wonderful if that could happen, but let's face it, nothing will ever be the same.  Very possible that Azamara is finding that the availability of everything necessary to pull off Azamazing Evenings around the world isn't there.

Azamara has to be careful not to alienate loyal customers like you.  Part of my concern comes from folks like you who are reacting with concern to recent price increases and other noticeable changes.  It takes so much time to build a customer base, but so easy to lose.

Some folks here think Azamara is just testing the market to see how hard they can push customers.  That is likely the case, but once they increase a price or lowered quality, I doubt they will revert to the previous conditions.

There are also loyal folks like me, who perhaps haven't cruised quite as long or as many times (started in 2012, working on 20 this year), I am not feeling alienated at all.  I am quite happy with the progress that Azamara is progressing, and my TA has had no issues whatsoever.

No US agent no background call centre sound. Wasn’t logged in when she answered the call

I had an interaction with an agent that was definitely working from home, and she was not good.  I ended the conversation, called back and talked to someone else

Have just booked a cruise for 2025. Is it possible to book an experience more package at prevailing rate now and will this protect me from any price increase ?

    Thanks

Yes, as soon as your cruise is under deposit, you can purchase online.
