“RAPIDLY”…10 months is NOT rapidly with a number of travel agents still wanting nothing to do with them…. i know, i have future cruises with them and have had numerous problems getting agents to support us on our bookings and i REFUSE to pay an agent and then have to do my own customer service.

You then are working with an agency with bad agents.  I know several and they haven't had issues with service.

The emails I got were from the US market. I had to change the country to UK a the bottom to see if they applied in the UK. They do but they still don't make any sense. Maybe you are not on their mailing list? For me it's part of an ongoing pattern that communications from Azamara aren't very well thought through and the problem is they then lose their credibility

I may be that none of my future cruises apply

I did the same as crzrr . . . my outcome was different! I received an email stating that since I had booked through a TA, she would have to make the contact.
    btw . . . I booked both cruises onboard.

I think it may come down to who assists you.  the older employees seem to be willing to do things that aren't "by the book" so to speak, as the newer employees follow instructions to a tee.

  4. welcome to Azamara!

You'll find the ships basically the same.

It's really difficult to recommend when the two choices are so different.  If you can, look through the excursions for both cruises just to get an idea of what is commonly done in the ports that each cruise visits.  You might get an idea of which itinerary is going to give you more opportunities for the hiking and exploring you like to do.  That being said, I could never get too much Italy!

On ONWARD  ( 1st leg of World Voyage), Jan 5 out of Ft Lauderdale, bound for Lima Peru

    Captain Karl Smith

    Staff Capt Daniela Epuras

    Ch ENG Hans Jensen

    Hot DIR, Elizabeth Vogel

    CD   Eric De Gray

    Asst CD   Astrid Alphonso

    F&B  Iwan Pennings

    Exec Chef  Srinath Gokulanathan

Capt Carl implied that he was getting off after leg 2 in Tahiti, but would be back at some non specified time;  Eric made comment about getting off after leg 1, but rejoining in March.  The original plan was for Elizabeth to be here for the whole 10 legs--- no info on if that has changed.

Iwan will also be on the entire journey

  6. So final destination is NCE; besides AA, what other airlines might you recommend that have decent business fares from LAX?  I haven't really found much.  Flying home from AMS, BA and AA seem to have the best times and fares

We have been very pleased with BA business class regardless of the aircraft.  To us it is not just the seat but the service.  We find BA Flight Attendants in Business Class to be a step above many other airlines in their efficiency, and friendliness.  We choose BA business class where possible for these reasons.

    thank you!

Seatguru has been effectively abandoned by Trip Advisor, its owner.  Lots of incorrect information there.  Use at your own risk.

I didn't know that; thank you!  Where do you suggest I look for reviews?

Although it is the old Club World seat on the A380s it isn't all bad news if you're flying with someone else.

The old seats are still fully flat beds but in pairs with the window and middle seats facing backwards. There's a divider that drops down so you can directly face eachother and chat, if that's your kind of thing. The aisle seats are quite exposed and the window seat occupant will need to step over the legs of the person in the next row's aisle seat to get out (a common cited gripe that's massively overblown IMO, especially compared to older business class paired seats where it can be very difficult to get out from a window seat) but that's about it.

When flying with my wife I certainly still prefer the newer "Club Suites" but if you can pick the right seats the "old" Club World isn't that awful, IMO.

Thanks!  Is the upper level any better than the main level?  The backward facing seats just seem so strange.

BA 388? Is that a flight number (which can change, or be used on multiple flights in a day) or referring to the plane type and model...an Airbus 380-800?
