  1. The key as Lsimon said is to have a clear understanding with the TA what perks you are bringing with you from Celebrity and what they are providing. From there on the TA will have to deal with Celebrity if the problems continue.

Generally once you have a TA Celebrity won't talk to you about your reservation. I suspect what the agent meant was if you had this specific problem with the perks falling off they would still work with you to correct it again even if you have a TA even though I don't think that would be necessary as the TA should handle that for you.

Do you have a correct guest invoice after they have corrected your reservation this last time. I would provide that to the TA and keep it for your records. I would also get a statement from the TA regarding the combined perks outlining what is from Celebrity and what is from the TA.

  2. I am the OP of this thread. Been back home almost a month. I believe that I mentioned that we did go ahead and book only one other cruise while onboard. We received $350 OBC, which we spent onboard. That was also our deposit for an AQ1 on a 14 night cruise. So when we take that cruise in the fall of 2015, we will not receive any more OBC, but will receive the 1-2-3 Beverage Package, which we were told would ONLY be offered onboard from now on at the Future Cruise desk.

We did enjoying being able to have instant OBC, but kind of a bummer not to have it for a future cruise, as we usually do. In addition to the $350 given to use on that cruise, we came onboard with $300 from booking onboard another.

So, we still have time to transfer the booking to a TA (we kept the booking with Celebrity and have 60 days to transfer.) I noticed that the TA that sponsors CC sent out a 4th of July sale flyer. The TA group is offering ALL 3 Perks (Beverage, Gratuities and OBC) for booking with them today tru Thursday.

I wonder if I transfer my booking to them, if I will be able to pick up the gratuities and OBC to go along with my Beverage package???

Does anyone have experience transferring their onboard bookings to this group and receiving the extra perks?

Yes I have transferred onboard bookings to them and retained everything I had (the old system where I had OBC for the future booking and Grats from 123 GO). They ended up giving me the grats from their group booking and substituting the OBC for 123GO.

For this current promo I think you will just need to give them a call. Make sure they detail what you will be getting from Celebrity and what's from them. Sometimes they aren't real forthcoming with that info but if you push they will detail it for you.

Since they probably put you in a group don't be surprised if things from Celebrity which were on your Guest Invoice aren't on there after so that's why you need some documentation in case there's a problem later.

That said I was very satisfied with what I ended up with. Just don't like their cancellation fees.

  3. This Pic of Solstice Cabins on the Hump will give you a good idea of the different balcony sizes and what can be put on them. With the Concierge Class cabins they come standard with two footstools (that can be use for sitting on. I am hoping that with the 1A cabin we have in December (for 4) we can arrange to get the extra seats/stools.

If you have 4 in a 1A they might find you some extra chairs but the foot stools are a perk of CC and above. You won't get them in a 1A, I'm speaking from experience

  4. You have to go through the TA. My understanding is that if the current price is at least $1 more they will upgrade you. Some report they will upgrade if the new cabin is less than or equal to what you paid (with no refund or OBC) but that seems to depend on who you get on the phone.

Remember some Xciting deals and new bookings only offers won't qualify but it always pays to ask.

  5. There used to be the 1 category upgrade when you booked on board as the captains club benefit under the old program didn't include anything other than inside or oceanview.

Even that old book onboard program was changed in the later stages to not allow the upgrade to C1 but it seemed to be randomly enforced.

Now the 1 category upgrade is a captains club program introduced in November 2013 and has these specific categories excluded.

The OP certainly received the benefit of Celebrity's mistake but I would have been disappointed in Celebrity if they handled it any differently when she brought it to their attention.

  6. AQ suites are becoming Sky Suites.

I'm curious to know if they will get a new category like S3, given their unique shower, or will they become the secret best S2 suites on that ship where some S2 have normal shower, and these have the special shower.

I have seen a deck plan on a TA web site which shows more than the 3 available rooms that Celebrity shows. That plan shows them the same color as the S1 cabins that were in that area before. We have stayed in 2132 multiple times and always wondered what made the room next door a S1??

  7. Worth a try but I believe the book onboard OBC is the initial offer and the Perk is the beverage package. I tried to upgrade my reservation I booked on board to a Suite which had a resident discount and was told that I had to give up the Pick your Perk. This was even while the promo was still active shore side.

    Good luck to you.

  8. On our Reflection cruise in April the day they had the ice sculptures in the OceanView they also had steamed clams and mussels. For those of us who found the station we enjoyed it. I'd say 90% of the people had no idea there was anything different in the buffet that day. Still a far cry from the gala brunch.

  9. We had this case a few years ago where I saw the "W" on the web site and my TA called Celebrity and they said they didn't have "W" available. She had me make the "hold" booking on the web and send her the reservation number.

We ended up getting the Sky Suite next to the PH on Connie which is the nicest SS we have ever been in. We saw the other passengers luggage at our door and know that they were put in the RS down the hallway. I suspect they probably paid the highest price for SS and that's what got them the upgrade. I'm sure it was someone in Resolutions dept that decides these types of things.

  10. Until April of 2015 the physical room is the same as a standard Sky Suite ~ 300 sqft and comes with all the Aqua amenities including the body jets in the bath tub.

We have stayed in them multiple times, for me the value is entirely Blu. They don't seem to sell all that well at the inflated price so I've been able to book last minute at attractive rates. Probably one of the reasons they are dropping the concept.

  11. Part of the MDR experience at least with traditional dining is getting to know the tablemates over the course of the cruise. You wouldn't get the full experience by going one night but that shouldn't stop you from trying it.

  12. I know they will provide anything on the anytime menu from the MDR which is not on the Blu menu like shrimp cocktail or French Onion Soup but I don't think it would be appropriate to ask for an Entree from the MDR. While they may accommodate you it would mean a staff member has to go to the MDR to get it for you. Maybe on M class this isn't a big deal but on S class it's quite a distance.

If you want something from the MDR menu you can always do it via room service and have a nice dinner in your cabin.

The Blu menu has a nice variety which changes daily. One thing I've done when one of the Entree's doesn't please is ask to have an Entree size of one of the appetizers or the dinner salad. Day 7 the salad has tenderloin, I ask for it as an Entree where it comes out with 3 slices of tenderloin and ask them to add asparagus as the veggie. They always accommodate.

  13. We were on the same cruise. I have to agree with ICANTWAITTOCRUISE that I don't quite get Miami DJ concept but I did find that even the piped in music around the ship was varied and mostly at a background volume. I only remember once by the pool thinking the music was loud.

The house band Vibe was excellent, one of the best I've seen on Celebrity
