agree with leaveitallbehind.    Even the Future Cruise Certificate (pay $100/pp deposit now) book later has changed. That used to be 1 year to book a cruise but now 6 months.

And non refundable.  If you don't use it in 1 year you lose the $$.  It can also be used for NRD fares.

I bought $500 in OBC a few days ago, posted to my account.  Today there is a $500 credit from Celebrity but no notification of the OBC being returned.  Anybody else have Celebrity credit your OBC purchase?

Just off the phone with shoreside concierge where I bought the OBC.  They spoke with another department and said it was some automated process which triggered the refund.   In the end they took the order again and a new post to my account is pending.

I'll wait a few days before I do it again on my other card with the offer.

If I use the link to buy OBC for myself as a gift, will it show on my planner ahead of time or is it really "delivered" to the cabin on Day 1?  I bought OBC a few days ago, the AMEX charge has cleared, but I don't see anything in my cruise planner.  Thanks for the help!

Only OBC (Non Refundable) from Celebrity shows on Cruise Planner.   Any OBCR you buy shows up once onboard.

The winters and summers are milder on the coast but I still vacation most of the winter. The rest of the year is amazing, in fact a cruise ship (small luxury one) is coming to Portsmouth beginning this year.

Must be real small to get up the river.   I used to work in Portsmouth.  Lived in Portsmouth, Dover, Rochester, Farmington.

  5. Yes as long as it's the same cruise you are going on.  I think it's up to 2 additional cabins.  They get the OBC and reduced deposit.  Of course the deposit for each room has to be paid.  You can use your card or if you have their card info you can put one on each.

Although I always tell people to stay far far away from the Book Later certificates this is one use for them as when using them to assign a ship/sail date ALL passenger names on it can be changed.  The big warning here is it would be a NRD deposit as refundable is not available.

So in your case I still highly recommend doing Book Now, not Book Later.

Did you put the two $500 deposits on the same cruise or different cruises?

I'm wondering if using the offer twice on the same cruise would trigger a problem.

I just wanted to thank the OP @Stockjock for alerting all of us to this offer!!! 💜

I'm going to wait until the first one registers as accepted.  It shouldn't matter if it's the same one or not.   I happen to have a B2B next week so I bought OBC for the first sailing and will buy more for the second one once I get notified the first one went through.

Yes.  For non-suite bookings, the difference between refundable and non-refundable deposits is in the total fare, not the deposit. The same reduced deposit will apply to both fare bases.

And for non-refundable the reduced deposit is the biggest advantage of booking onboard.  I don't mind risking $200 but won't risk $900.

Here is the chart of the OBC bonus as well

Sorry if you posted this somewhere already, but what type of room are you in?  I'm in an infinite veranda next month & I will be requesting a lounger but expecting to be told no.

There have never been loungers in IV cabins or 90+% of balcony cabins on Celebrity Ships.   There should be no expectations for one.  You should not put the crew in the position by even asking.

  9. I completely agree with your thinking.  Call now and ask to be wait listed for select dining.  Generally they will clear these before sailing.  If not then go directly to MDR on boarding and request the change.  They may not be able to accommodate the first night but generally work it out.

  10. I've purchased OBC before the cruise to satisfy the Amex offer in the past.  I believe if you use a different card to settle your onboard account onboard any remainder will be credited to that card.  When I did this to be sure I went to guest relations on the last evening and took the remainder in cash (which they will do).   Just make sure it doesn't get credited to your Amex as they may claw back the statement credit.
