  1. most places in havana are reasonably priced. I usually had a couple drinks and entree for $20 or less. That is at a sit down place. You can eat for much less at the counter places. I recommend El Rum Rum de la Habana. Great food, great happy hour specials!

It varies greatly depending on the venue, but typically less than US.

Thanks so much to both of you.

  2. We will be visiting Havana next week on the Empress and intend to have lunch somewhere after our tour. Can anyone who has been there advise on approximate prices in restaurants, about same price as the US or more or less ? We obviously don't want to change more money than we anticipate that we will need. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

  3. 350 DKK is about $54 USD using today's rates. We have RC transfers pre-booked for August CPH to the ship at $27 USD per nose, or $54.

    YMMV

We have used the ship's transfer twice after cruises on the Serenade, back to the airport for $27 each, I would certainly recommend it, easy and efficient. Pre-cruise the taxi from the airport to our downtown hotel was about 380 DKK which is around $58 I think.

  4. Interesting chat. We're on Brilliance in late August and looking forward to comparing the CL & DL. Last year on Navigator they were SO different both in style and clientele.

We are on the Brilliance at the moment. Both lounges are on deck 13 - the Concierge Lounge has a nice bar that you can sit at plus the lounge area and an outside terrace too, the Diamond Lounge just has lounge chairs and tables.

  5. Have they changed this sign for the Suite sun deck?

We are on the Independence at the moment and I did notice the other day that the sign hanging on the ropes which separate the Suite sundeck area looks as above except that the wording now says something like, Access for Guests with Suite Concierge Cards only, - I will check out the exact wording today.

  6. Hi!

My DW and I are embarking on the 12-night Venice cruise departing July 12, 2017 on Brilliance. We are both Diamond C&A and will be staying in an aft-facing balcony cabin.

I have scoured these boards every which way and unless my search skills are not what they used to be (certainly possible!), I'm finding very few reviews of Mediterranean cruises on Brilliance. Maybe everyone is so busy touring Europe there is no time to post! - haha

If anyone is out there that has cruised and can provide copies of cruise compasses it would be greatly appreciated! I was able to find the compasses online (not on cruisecritic) of the 2016 cruise, but would like to see the latest and greatest. Pretty much I'm looking for logistical tips and tricks - tender times, show information, other ship suggestions, etc.

If anyone has questions for me will be happy to share my plans. We are flying in from east coast of United States (Newark, NJ airport) into Barcelona one day early, staying at Hotel Jazz with a tour booked with Barcelona Day Tours on departure day. BDT will drop us off at the ship mid-afternoon. We have all other tours booked through italytours.eu which gets fantastic reviews. We then fly home after getting off the ship on the 24th.

    Thank you!

We are on this same cruise June 18th - unfortunately I am not sure how to post pictures on here but would gladly photograph the cruise compass each day and e mail them to you.

  7. $38.50+ 18% ($6.93)= $45.43pd x 7 = $318.01 for a week's cruise versus $363.44 if I buy now.

I'm looking at Jewel for this summer. Bit worried by the comment that the price on board can be as high as $61pd. It was $55 last week on Vision!

We are on the Independence right now and it is $61 per day before any C and A discounts.

  8. We are leaving the Serenade this morning and here is the latest information I got from Mario and Perla last night -

Mario currently in CL, leaves for vacation 7/16 and returns 8/26

If we see him this morning I will try and find out who replaces him on 7/16.

Perla currently in DL, sign off date is 8/26, however she has asked for an extension till 11/1 but it has not yet been confirmed

  9. Rubyfisch,

Love the review. We are sailing on Serenade in October. Can you tell me if there are many tables for 2 in the main dining room. Also can you comment on the comfort of the beds. We have heard that the beds are very hard. Any information on the shape of the ship would be greatly appreciated.

We are on the Serenade also, and after our first night I can report that our bed is very comfortable. We ate at Chop's last night and it was extremely good. The ship seems in excellent shape. Off to the Meet and Mingle shorty and hopefully will meet Rubyfisch.

  10. We will be turning Pinnacle in the near future and would like to know everyones opinion about which ship would be a good one to book for this momentus occasion. We will be on Rhapsody right before and are thinking of just booking b2b and becoming Pinnacle on Rhapsody. Any ideas?

Not sure what choices of ships you have but we became Pinnacle on the Brilliance last year and they really made it a wonderful extra special occasion for us. We had disembarked the Harmony two days before boarding the Brilliance and the LA from Harmony just e mailed the LA on Brilliance to confirm our points. Many many congratulations to you.
