  1. Hi Lois,   this is the exact procedure that I had....  I am a baby when it comes to needles/pain, & it was not painful at all.  I had 2 liters, but they were only able to remove 1.6.... because when they get near the end, your lung will expand, & you'll probably start coughing..  it was a good, weird feeling to have my lung expanding again...  best wishes for clear results 🙂

The day is finally here. Two years after sending us all home from work due to COVID, most of our offices are opening up again this month. The problem is, no one wants to go in!  (Well, maybe a few.)

But business travel is also allowed again and my boss is flying over for the first time since 2019 to visit my workplace later this month.  Now I have to come up with a week's worth of nice office wear. And I just made that appointment for a haircut that I've been putting off...

    😱

oh no!  I think I've gone in a handful of times since the new year...& even when I get all better, I'm just not going back.   Yesterday I worked on the Starbucks patio for 4 hours, then went in for about 30 minutes (Starbucks does not have a professional copy machine & scanner lol)

The problem is, even though the office is fully open, no one goes, & everyone is expected to be available all the time still...  no thank you 😉    do you have an option of hybrid type home/office?

Good morning.........this quick appt was actually because my Oncologist got directly involved. She wants me to see this Dr before I have the hysterectomy. Long story short, originally the appt was not available until MAY/JUNE!  Well, I called the Nurse who has been so helpful and she got the ball rolling and what do you know, somehow they got me in today at 3.

Lois, that's amazing to get your appointment so quickly... good luck today!

Ok. The way I read it was they were on the feb 19 sailing and the husband was being treated for Covid yesterday.

I definitely misread.... yes, being treated as of the 2nd.   I suppose if they don't take another test util 2 days before, & test negative they would be ok

Agree, I don't see the issue, coffee is available from room service..

Not a fan either, I already spend enough time packing away all the doodads & brochures, in order to achieve a clean, minimalistic look while we call the ship home.... where am I going shove a smelly Nespresso machine (mine at home doesn't smell, but our office one does, as they need descaling every few months)

You posted about this while I was in the moving maelstrom -- I hope you're feeling better now.

thank you!  they don't know at this point how much function of my right lung I will get back, but at least I know that,   last month when everything was up in the air & I didn't know if it was going to be the C word or not was the hardest.

Again, hugs to Lois, because waiting for info  is so damn hard.

& are you full on moved in now?   If so, that must feel so good to be finally settled instead of "in between"

Hi girls, well, the news is so/so.......nothing that says cancer but the Dr is not happy with the amount of tissue they were able to get (not a lot)....and when I had my CT scan on Friday, something else showed up.........😲 around my right lung.......some fluid and that is not normal and a couple of nodules. So, I need to have another CT Scan of just my lungs.   And she wants me to have a hysterectomy sooner rather than later.

Like in the next few weeks........so my March 30th cruise is a no go...........

    What else can go wrong?😧

Bleh, Lois, I'm so sorry that it's wasn't perfectly clear, & now you miss out on your trip.    Not at all what I was expecting to hear, but thank goodness it's not cancer.

Your lung situation sounds similar to mine, please let me know if you have any questions....

anyway,  sending hugs & good thoughts your way, & hoping you can find a wonderful replacement cruise 🙂

I decided to use my friend Google and see what comes up under "Senior Transportation"..........a few listings show up.  If/when I have the hysterectomy I will probably have to use a service of some sort.

I will have to do more research.  My other option......I have a long time close friend who lives in south Florida.........she would probably say yes if I asked her to come up here for a couple days and take me and pick me up and stay with me for a day or so............I am so used to do everything on my own, it is hard to ask for help.

Lois,  I agree, it is so hard to ask for help, especially when you're super independent.

I think a good question is;  if this friend reached out to you for same help, would you feel good about going?  I'll bet the answer is yes, not only would you want to, but you'd feel good helping someone you care about.

    my two cents anyhow 🙂

glad screaming in frustration worked for you.  Pretty sure it was not necessary, as per your follow-up

Read again, lol....  I was fully prepared to scream in frustration,  however, it wasn't necessary...  I'll save it for when I upgrade our drinks packages lol 😉

I'm not familiar with "snow level", assume it's the cloud formation? How did your weather turn out today?

Can readily understand you wanting to be back on the Koningsdam.

    Love the pool!

for those of us in the S.CA area, snow level refers to how low in will snow each evening, tonight it's just below 3000 ft.

That translates to currently freezing to death in Los Angeles... it's clear, gorgeous, windy as heck, but the clouds are gathering over the foothills. = very, very cold.

So happy eveything worked out well.  I had a large price increase while getting a reduction...it just happens, but is so frustrating.  My DH was changed to a different country of residence, along with our ages not being accurate.  Happy endings are the best!

It's a mystery, right?   Anytime I'm actually repricing, I know things will go wrong,  perks will disappear, & it will probably turn into a half day ordeal...  in this case I thought I was pretty safe lol...  it would appear not 😉

the huge price difference is because while I booked a suite guarantee (meaning I will have to purchase my own drinks/internet).  I already have stateroom assigned..., so it repriced me to the cost of my S2 w/the all inclusive.....more than $7000 more than what I paid for cruise only....between my OBC from my Celebrity visa & my CC discount, the premium drinks & steam internet will cost us about $1200 total for both of us...I'll stick with my guarantee price lol 😉.   happy endings are the best!

  12. So...  been on phone with X for the last hour....for our upcoming cruise my dh has been listed as  Guest 2, TBD.....  seemed like a good idea to call as the online system would not let me correct his name (we are almost a month from final payment).   the young woman updated his info, I thanked her, & as usual asked for an updated invoice showing his name/CC # added ...  on my new invoice the price is almost double what our price should be... being handed off from guest service to greet service, none of whom can figure it out...  how could one tiny thing have gone so badly wrong???

Hi, the gal from the scheduling dept called and re-confirmed with me----I have to be at the hospital at 5:30am😲..........yikes. I made sure to set my alarm for 4:25 and I am using a car service to get me there. We have a company called Ztrip (It is like Uber).........I have used Ztrip multiple times over the past couple of years. They will come get me at 5:00.  Wish me luck girls. Hopefully everything will go smoothly.

wishing the very best for you Lois...  I just know that everything is going to be fine, & before you know it you will be on your lovely, relaxing cruise 🙂

    Islay...

You ever see one of those word maps? Where the size of the word represents how often it's used?

    Smoke

    Peat

    Iodine

    Salt

    Sea

    Medicinal

    Sounds disgusting. Tastes amazing!

But not Highlands, Speyside, or Macallan!

Mark described it perfectly, I think it's either something o love or hate 🙂

It's the perfect foil for Creme Brule (imho)....  ask for the sugar to come extra hot...my go to desert when cruising  🙂
